Question 1

I'm having issue with the wifi connection, its really slow. Show its running at 70-80MB but takes forever to load video from youtube and web browsing. Anyone having the same issue and knows how to fix it?

As I mentioned elsewhere I bought two of these and I have not had a problem with my wifi? However, there is a "Firmware" update that you can do that corrects some problems that others have reported. I did do an update on my wife's MSi Primo 73 and there is a LARGE difference firmware versions? The one that came on both of the two that I bought was v1.3 and the updated one was 3.4, which is a great difference. Therefore, it is my guess that these units have been around for awhile otherwise I would expect to at least see v2.0 of v3.0 by this time!

IF you decide to try the update make certain you get the instruction file in PDF and follow, follow the directions.

I forgot in my review to include that this tablet also comes with a slot for a micro SD card, for up to 32 GB extra memory. So if you compare it with the cheaper ones this MSi is WAY BETTER.

Cheap ones: .5 GB RAM, 4 GB mem, low res screen 800x480, and no micro SD mem slot,
This MSi 73:  1 GB RAM, 16 GB mem, Hi res screen 1024x600, one micro slot up to 32 GB,

Cheap ones: no camera or one low res
This MSi 73:  2 cams one front facing and one rear facing to do video chatting

However, I forgot one of the cons in my review: the cameras are not very good 1.3 mp for taking pictures and 0.3 mp for video conferencing (thou .3 is OK that's 640 x 480)
My Samsung has 5 mp for photos and 1.2 for conferencing, still even a 5 mp on a tablet or smartphone does NOT compare with a digital camera. I have two cameras a 5 mp and an older 2 mp and they BOTH take great pictures, even the 2 mp, better that the 5 mp on the Samsung!!

Has anybody tried using for pure music purpose with good/decent headphones?  I am trying to see if I can use this as a glorified mp3 player with software EQ app.  If it worth purchasing to play ogg/flac music.  Compared to other mp3 players that rarely support these file types and yet if they do support them they are not great in sound.

Estevan, for the price of this device and its factory root access it can be what you desire! You may need to do a little downloading and a few wipe and resets to upgrade the firmware first then follow the steps to get root privileges installed then your free to remove some bloatware and install root enhance apps specifically for your needs. Hope this help narrow your choices.

Are THESE Neweggs dimensions? They are OFF on specifications. I have on a Samsung Tab 2 and what you have for it are RIGHT ON. BUT for this MSi is says width is 4.74 but I bought one for my wife and ACTUAL width is 4.25" not 4.74. So this is .55" or over a 1/2" smaller than what your specs show and off of standard sizes. Therefore, MOST cases are to large, and if it is LOOSE fitting the tablet can FALL OUT and break!!

Don't feel to badly about the measurements being off. I bought an iView 7" tablet from Newegg that they STILL list as a quad core cpu even though I have e-mailed and called their customer service that it is actually only a dual core tablet. They have yet to have corrected the copy for that tablet!

To Robert B. - IF you get this, if not can anyone answer?

RobertB. stated he updated the firmware to N71J_20131221, however nothing in the tablets system use any such names for firmware? Mine says Firmware version 1.31, so how would I KNOW which version number N71J_20131221 is. IF it is version 1.31 then I do not want to bother updating the firmware!

However, folks read RobertB.'s review. Many times firmware updates WILL FIX most of the problems, like some of you are having trouble with wifi and/or browser.

Updating Firmware is not that hard, just FOLLOW the directions because IF you do not do it right the first time you get NO SECOND CHANCES!  Firmware update failures will make your tablet useless, like a brick. (However, that said read my review)

i have not had no issues with anything on my tablet everything is working fine. Also has great battery life lasting anywhere from 2 to 3 hrs surfing web or on youtube gaming it last 1 to 2 hrs depending on the game

How long is the battery life on this MSi Primo 73 tablet?

Depends on HOW you use it. If just normal use then maybe 7-9 hours but if you are using it to play movies then maybe 3-4 hours or even less. BUT that is true with all tablets.  Even using the Wifi and the GPS will shorten the battery life.

The sound is very low.. However if you use it as a media server connecting it to a tv via mini hdmi it's a great device. The picture is descent. Great for web surfing. With all that being said mines is a brick at moment
