4 out of 5 eggsVideo editing: so far so good

Pros: It runs Avid, Premiere, etc quite easily. Hyperthreading apps like the Adobe stack will make better use of a system like this on paper but my first hand experience with a 4K film is that the laptop is a powerful mobile video workstation if you're on Windows. And it kinda doesn't matter which software. The hardware is up to the task of editing video - and it has power to spare. So that's the reason I needed this, and I'm very happy to say it's working great so far.

Cons: Look, I could wish it were cheaper, but in fact it's quite a good deal for what you get. The equivalent hardware on other brand systems would not be priced this low. MSI is tackling enthusiast niche. But this is pricey for a laptop. $2700.

Big? I guess it's big, but that's part of what I needed; a big screen. I am strong and I'm content to lug around a huge laptop when I know it has five laptop bays, that it burns bluray disks, that it can connect to two external monitors, that it's full HD 1920x1080 screen 17.3" diagonal screen. I guess some would say that it is inconveniently large and heavy. My laptop in college weighed nearly three times what this little beast weighs.

Other Thoughts: I also truly appreciate that this is upgradable and maintainable. DO YOU HEAR THAT APPLE? I'm making a big investment of initial capital. This is my first system out of grad school, and I need it to WORK, and I want to be able to open it up and add new parts in a few months when I've got a few bucks. So this laptop promises a lot and is open to the immediate future, so my fingers are crossed. I'll check back in over the months to say how it's going.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat system for the price

Pros: Large display, SSD, excellent graphics, abundant memory, and powerful processor.

Cons: Small touch pad, and weight, but its a gaming system so I had expected it.

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for a great gaming laptop and don't want to spend a fortune this is laptop for you.

4 out of 5 eggs95% AMAZING

Pros: 880M - Everything maxxed out.
i7 4800MQ- Quick (mine actually came with the 4810MQ +1 Star free upgrade!)
32GB Ram - duh. Awesome.
3 SSD Raid 0 ?!? Amazingly freaky fast map load!
Sound - decent for a laptop, a little "tinny" but adequate.
Plenty USB 3.0's

Cons: Mic does not work. :-( hence the one star loss. Defective. For such an expensive laptop, not acceptable. -1 Star.

Even though the ad leads you to believe that you might be able to get the backpack, mouse, headset, mousepad package, it does NOT come with this laptop nor the $3999 One!!!! Why? It is only available in CANADA. GET IT OFF YOUR AD AS IT IS MISLEADING. Shouldn't be there in the US, especially when even after contacting MSI, you can't even buy the package. A laptop this expensive should at least have the OPTION of getting a matching backpack... shame.... -1 Star

Other Thoughts: Laptop boots to desktop < 30 sec. and runs everything I throw at it maxxed out - COD:Ghosts, BF4, World of Tanks, Skyrim, Elder Scrolls Online, Bioshock Inf., Wolfenstein NWO. Anything.

Does get hot as you would expect running those games at 1920*1080.

Nothing you wouldn't expect out of a $2700 laptop.
