Other Thoughts: I turned this on once to set it up. Turned it off to go buy a usb for recovery and wouldn't boot back up. Will contact customer tomorrow and update this review.

Pros: Performance is outstanding. Running any game on highest graphics settings produces 60fps without stutter. However, when applying mods to games that alter graphics like high resolution textures and scenery, it does seem to slow down a bit.

Love the option to change the color of the keyboard from either single, double, or triple colored. A few preset colors to swap from with the tap of a button at the top of the keyboard. Cool feature but definitely not a necessity.

There is also an option to increase the fan's power with the touch of a button that really comes in handy while playing games because this laptop gets very hot when gaming. Cooling pad recommended!

Looks like a really cool laptop without the extreme bulk of an Alienware or those other huge things. It is a good size for every kind of use.

The display is a gorgeous 1920x1080 screen. Couldn't ask for more from a price like that.

Battery life during gaming is very minimal. If you want to play games then you best be plugged in and on a cooling pad.

The touch pad is not the greatest but not the worst. It is hard to click if you want to do a full click but I do a lot of tapping for clicks instead. The pad is a nuisance while typing too. I had to download software that disabled it while I was typing as my hand would frequently make contact with the touch pad causing it to click wherever the pointer was. This would take me off the box or line that I am typing on and put me somewhere else.

Windows 8.1 is really not good at all. I have been using Windows 7 Professional 64-bit since it came out on all my computers and it has rarely frustrated me. It's nice and simple to use. Windows 8.1 however is very tablet friendly but not laptop friendly. Tablets and 2-in-1's should have Windows 8 but not a laptop. I used Windows 8.1 that came with the laptop for a few hours before I couldn't take it anymore and erased the HDD and put my old OS on it. Can't be more happier. Plus I like Windows Experience Index...gives you a little satisfaction seeing top rated hardware on it.

Other Thoughts: For the price, you get a powerful gaming laptop that can do what you need it to do and more.

Pros: When it comes to pros, it's delivered everything it said it would. Great GPU and CPU, 12 GB of RAM is always nice to see, 1 TB of HDD is awesome. Nvidia GeForce 960 is impressive considering the price. 2 GB of video memory isn't the best but it'll do.

The sound quality is amazing and the keyboard itself feels really nice. Good tactile feedback (not up to the level of mechanical keyboards but for a laptop, it's more than I could wish for). The customizable backlights are a nice touch.

Cons: As for cons, I have a few notable issues:

- the screen, while definitely anti-glare, seems a bit blurry? perhaps it's just because I'm not used to it yet but the previous ultrabook I owned seemed to be have a clearer screen and was easier on the eyes.

- colors are WAY oversaturated for icons, desktop, even for visuals within games. honestly, it would've been better to have the colors be a bit toned down

- on my second day of ownership, I turned it off after about 3-4 hours of gaming/streaming. Then a couple hours later, I decided I wanted to do some more streaming so I turned it on. It booted up fast like normal, BUT once I logged into my account, the desktop screen froze. I could move my mouse but none of the icons would load, the time failed to auto-correct, and I just sat there waiting for a good five minutes before it finally decided to work again.

I'm not sure if I'm just the unlucky one but I'm not too pleased when on the SECOND DAY (when I haven't even pushed this machine to its limit yet), it decides to just freeze on me like that. (-0.5 egg)

- the left side of the keyboard gets pretty hot even with a cooling pad underneath when gaming. The underside of the laptop remains as cool as ever but for whatever reason, the top of the keyboard itself still gets hot. Quite annoying to be honest. (-0.5 egg)

Other Thoughts: For its price, this laptop is nearly unbeatable. Great specs, great performance, there really isn't much to dislike. Plus the free Steelseries Siberia V2 headset was a nice bonus~

However, if you're looking for a laptop that will actually remain cool with a cooling pad underneath, then you might want to look elsewhere because I was VERY disappointed at the fact that I couldn't rest my left hand comfortably on the keyboard because it was so hot.

Sure if you're only looking to do some office work or small projects on Photoshop or the like, this won't be a problem.
BUT, if you're looking to do some heavy gaming + streaming, then you might want to keep an extra ice pack under your wrist because you won't want to feel that heat.

Pros: Was sent a replacement that has worked quite well for the 2 months since receiving it

Cons: I ordered this laptop brand new and was sent and obviously poorly refurbished version.
There were many obvious signs that it was refurbished which is completely messed up)
1. There were broken pixels throughout the screen.
2. One of the sides of the monitor was not flush with the casing with what looked like glue sticking out .
3. The laptop itself did not come in a plastic bag inside the box which was present on the replacement.
4. There was no protective plastic to peel off anywhere on the laptop which was present in 3 separate places on the replacement.

Pros: Sorry to read Paul A had problems. The only bloat ware that I have encountered was the Norton's which I immediately uninstalled. Touchpad is like all the rest of the touchpads, annoying. I just use the function/F3 to turn it off when I don't want it. I was also looking and comparing these models: MSI GS Series GS60 Ghost-444 Gaming Laptop, MSI GS Series GS70 Stealth Pro-097 Gaming Laptop and the GIGABYTE P35Wv4-BW3K Laptop. Could't work them into my budget. So I ordered this and a SAMSUNG 850 EVO MZ-M5E500BW mSATA 500GB. After making factory recovery dvd's using the MSI Burn Recovery program. installed this jewel into the laptop and using this the system drive and the 1TB as the storage drive. Going to use this laptop for general usage, Photo, Video Editing and maybe some games. For the short length of time I have had this laptop I am very pleased. I would recommend this laptop to anyone wanting a laptop with the most for their buck. I looked and debated for a week, watching Youtube reviews and reading a ton of the reviews thoughout the net. Got this when Newegg had it on sale + free headphones but even without that this is a great deal and a great computer. Just do your research. Love the lighted keyboard.

Cons: Touchpad but this can be turned off and on easily (function/f3). Windows 8.1. Hopefully the upgrade to 10 will be much better.

1. Good thing the serial number that you need to register the product in under the battery that you install to turn your computer on. Thus enabling you to waste your time turning it off and then taking out the battery to see the number, reinstalling it then turning it back on.

2. Once you log in an abnormal amount of bloatware pops up thus enabling your computer to crash under the stress of so many applications trying to come up during start up multiple times.

3. Once you finally get lucky you are then able to open internet explorer for the one reason of downloading another browser like chrome or firefox. Good thing the computer then crashes again when you open internet explorer for the first time, thus enabling you to finally realize you wasted a grand on a worthless computer that cannot function based on what has been loaded on the hard drive.

4. The touchpad is horrendous. There was absolutely no working with it. At this point they should just offer a external keyboard and mouse free of charge just to compensate for its non-compliance.

5. Good thing the last straw for me was trying to register the computer only to find out that every !@@#@$#$% number on the @!##$!@$#% laptop under around and over does not work in trying to register the product.

6. The power cord shipped with that part that connects to the transformer loose/out so I actually had to push in the cord 1/4" just to make it work.

Other Thoughts: If you want a piece of !@$#$%@ then this is the very Laptop for you.

Outstanding in everything but good computer functions, and workability.
