4 out of 5 eggsOutstanding Computer!!!!

Pros: My 16 year old son loves the unit! He does do his school work on the machine, but his passion is his railroad simulation games. His 3 favorite railroad simulations do stress his previous desktops with 128bit or 256bit memory bandwith descrete video cards. My son has generally resisted 64bit operating systems, but this laptop has really changed his mind. This single core processor runs near as smooth as his quad core running 32bit Win7. Now he wants a bigger hard drive for his desktop to run both 32bit and 64bit Win7.

Cons: Had the power cord issue as outlined in my earlier review. That is why only4 eggs, would have been 5 eggs if HP had included the correct power cord in the first place, and not been so difficult about resolving the problem!

Other Thoughts: My wife has a similar system to this one (14 inch screen),she loves hers too. I use the Asus N71J model. I have a 17 inch Everex that I bought 3 years ago. All bought through Newegg. At least 50% of the parts in my family's 5 desktops came from Newegg. I have found Newegg to be a trusted retailer in 6 years that I have been a customer

1 out of 5 eggsMIght be a great computer?

Pros: Better graphics than any netbook, plus more ram and hard drive memory than any netbook. Perfect size for portability.

Cons: HP put the WRONG power cord in the box! I talked to HP and the four people on the phone, seemed to doubt there could be a problem! I forwarded in an email my newegg invoice, including all the information I was told to, and they have the missing part order on hold!

Other Thoughts: I would hate to return the computer to newegg. If I have to make a 3rd telephone call on this problem, it will be to newegg for an RMA! And I will probably buy the MSI product in this size, for my 16 year old son to use at school for more computing power than his Acer Aspire.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat computer for a great price

Pros: Works perfectly out of the box. The screen is so bright and sharp I often have to turn down the brightness, which is not a complaint I've ever had about a laptop, so I consider it a pro.

Cons: The touchpad is pretty weird. It's this shiny chrome-looking touchpad instead of the matte black, and it really creates drag on your finger. That sounds ridiculous, but it is noticeable enough that I'd complain about it. The whole computer is dang shiny, which means it looks dirty most of the time. The processor is 1.6 GHz, which is frankly underpowered, and the 4 gigabytes of RAM don't really take up the slack (although it's to be expected for the price, I'd imagine).

Other Thoughts: Overall a great machine for the price.
