The G61-511WM from HP is designed for the business traveler on a budget. It's powered by an AMD Sempron M100 running at 2.0GHz and comes with 3GB of memory and a 250GB hard drive. The 15.6" High-Definition BrightView display has a 1366 x 768 resolution for brilliant HD viewing, driven by an ATI Radeon HD 4200 GPU. The LightScribe enabled Super Multi drive lets you watch movies or burn your favorite playlists onto CD/DVD.

Designed to keep you connected there is a 10/100M Ethernet port and 802.11b/g wireless connectivity. Other connectivity options include a 5-in-1 integrated Digital Media Reader, VGA and HDMI ports, a 56k modem and jacks for a microphone and headphone. Three USB 2.0 ports let you attach a multitude of peripherals.

Runs good and is quiet, I like the seperate num pad. Cons: Feels kinda cheaply put together in some parts but not enough to take an egg away. The touchpad is a little annoying that it's made from the same material as the rest of the laptop and my finger does stick, but again not a big deal. The display is nice and bright, and Windows 7 has alot of cool features. Boots up and shuts down quickly. New Egg did a great job in shipping it out; i recieved mine in 2 days and the UPS tracking was dead on accurate. I probably need a few more weeks to write a more thorough review but I am very pleased so . The price was right, and the laptop rocks. Cons: It's a little on the heavy side. I can't figure out how adjust the volume using the key pad on the right?? Some of the keyboard shortcuts seemed unresponsive, but i could be using them the wrong way...for that i took off one egg. Other Thoughts: For the price, and the speed it's a great buy. I've been looking for an affordable HP laptop for awhile. Took very little to get it set up and going, not too much in the way of Junk-ware to clean out. In fact I recomended this system for a friend of mine looking for a system for his daughter who is going back to get her masters. Cons: Real minor, but it would be nice if there was high speed networking included with this system, and even though you have a 64 bit version of Windows 7, the system specs. limit you to 4 G of RAM. Nitpickin', I know... Other Thoughts: The system came in excellent condition physically, and I currently own another older HP laptop (dv9040) that the tech specs limited to 2 gig max RAM. Cons: I've always built my own desktops, this is my first laptop. So buying an HP laptop... Wow it came with way too much HP software installed. Cons: The touch pad is made with the same plastic as the rest of the laptop, which makes it very hard to slide my finger on. Will need to buy some type of film to make it easier to use.
