5 out of 5 eggsAfter 1 year of use

Pros: Refer to my other rating.

Cons: Sometimes, when the graphics switching (integrated to Radeon and vice versa), screen goes blank. I have to close the lid and open it again.

Other Thoughts: I added SSD SATA III because it supports it and moved my original HDD to CD-Rom spot using Caddy.
So i have dual hdd without CDrom but who needs it these days?
I added extra RAM to it, 16GB now.
I went to the bios and changed the graphics to FIXED mode from Dynamic, got higher Graphics rating at WEI.

CPU 7.5
RAM 7.6
GPU 6.9
GPU 6.9
HDD 7.9 (OCZ Agiility 3)

1 out of 5 eggsMachine Freezes

Pros: it looked awfully too good for the price it was selling for and now I see why.

Cons: The machine freezes everytime you try to perform a memeory tasking operation. Even a photoshop batch operation crashes the machine. and I'm talking a simple batch operation to save images. Other programs also crash during or after they have completed a memory tasking operation. leaving me to do a hard reboot.

Other Thoughts: This is the first time I bought something from newegg and every thing goes wrong. I hope I can get my money back.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy

Pros: Keyboard is different but I like it. Full HD display. BD Drive. Price. Solid construction. Sounded kind of funny at first but after some minor tweaks, I'm impressed with the sound. Under full load, cooling fan doesn't get real loud. Oh, and it's pretty darn FAST too!!!

Cons: Some cons but none bad enough for me personally. No eSATA. Surface does get a little warm on the left hand side. Power cable and indicator lights for power and HHD located on the right hand side just North of the CD tray. Bit of an odd place for them. Keyboard does flex slightly but only if you press down hard enough. Seagate hard drive, which I don't mind too much but I'm a WD fan so...

Other Thoughts: I upgraded from a Dell XPS M1530 which has served me well for nearly 4 years. I shopped around on and off for several months and just couldn't find the specs I liked for a price that I liked. Then I stumbled onto this HP while browsing around As soon as I seen it I knew I shouldn't hesitate to get one and I'm glad I didn't. It's a wonderful deal for what you get.

5 out of 5 eggsBest

Pros: i7
8GB Ram
Switchable graphics with 6770m
750GB harddrive with 7200 rpm
Beats audio
Clean design
HD webcam

Cons: Touchpad mouse click is a bit loud
Bit heavy to carry around.

Other Thoughts: I have been searching for a laptop for 4 months and I finally found my companion.
Beats audio was the spec that bought my attention.
I work with music a lot, and this beast can handle CUBASE 5 with 10.8 ms in and out.
Pretty Amazing.
And Turbo boost works nice for i7,
I actually saw the freq going up from 800mhz to 2900mhz.
Nice switchable graphics, i can get upto 5 hours unplugged.
Nice touched layout.
Perfect laptop.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This is a fantastic laptop for the price. I've searched and reviewed laptops for the better part of 2 weeks before I made my decision and I do not regret it one bit. It has a 6770m which is a better video card then the competing 555 nvidia grfx from other competing laptops that cost hundreds more. I'm a specs nut and these specs are fantastic. Other pros is that the build is very good and the hinges for the screen on this model is very sturdy and doesnt flex or shake like the others i've seen. Its very cool/quiet during normal tasks but does get a bit hot during HEAVY gaming. Not too much though. The battery is awesome!! 4 hours off the plug is no small feat. The switchable graphics does a great job of this. I dig the island style keyboard too.

Cons: The only quirk is the touchpad. It tends to get in the way when you're typing or browsing web pages. As far as I understand, its using a new style of touchpad technology but the thing is a few software revisions away from perfection. I've updated it but it still is kinda buggy and annoying. You could disable it but then whats the point of it?

Other Thoughts: Compare the specs on this model with comparable models in its price range and you'll see that this one outshines them all. I was going to get an Asus but I'm happy I ran into this model.
I like the fact that this model can recognize whether it is sitting on a table or your laptop and cools it differently depending on its orientation. The fingerprint thing is a nice touch.

This is my first review and I know i'm all over the place in describing this, just trying to help people who are on the fence about buying a laptop. Its a big investment.

Pros: Since I have bought this new laptop for the replacement of my old one, I have found this machine is really of a powerful portable workstation type. With the 4-core Intel core i7, you can do any multitask you want. I chose the graphic card with 2G memory, and actually the graphic chip 6770 is a poweful one. I can run MW2 under the highest configuration without any problem. The 1920*1680 is awesome. Because some people said the low resolution screen sucks, so I didn't choose that one. This machine is equipped with both blueteeth and wireless network, which is differently described from the official website. One thing to mention, this laptop also equipped with 8G memory which is the maximum for core i7. I think the 2.0GHz is enough for all types of work, and higher freqs are not that economical.

Cons: Suggest buying a cooling rack for this laptop - good for the graphic card. Also the swithable graphics doesn't work under Linux System - even the latest kernel does not support this.
