5 out of 5 eggsBest Cheap Gaming Laptop Out There!

Pros: -It is easily overclockable with K10stat. With only a laptop cooler, I get 2.8 ghz out of this quad core processor.
-The 6750M graphics card is very nice. I run all of my games at high to ultra settings.
-USB 3.0 is turbo fast for my external HD.
-Sleek look. Very nice.
-CHEAP!

Cons: -I wish it had come with a 2nd bay for internal HD's. I bought a 120 gb SSD and have to use an external HD for mass storage.
-6 gb RAM at 667 mhz -- one stick 4 gb, one stick 2 gb

Other Thoughts: Updating your graphics drivers can be tricky. Good luck with that.

Newegg should carry more of these.

5 out of 5 eggsLove this laptop

Pros: -Very fast
-Dedicated GPU
-Bluray
-HDMI
-Price

Cons: -Charging block is HUGE

Other Thoughts: This is an amazing laptop. It overclocks so easily and temps are stable and within range overclocked to 2.4ghz. I reapplied the termal paste with arctic silver 5 and idle and load temps dropped 12 degrees!! I also upgraded the screen to the LG 1080p screen and WOW colors and viewing angles are amazing. I can still play all games on high settings on 1080p with AA off. Skyrim and battlefield 3 is the only game so far on 1080 that works with 50fps on medium settings otherwise all games work on high. The other poster said that his touchpad light blew out after two months....not true...Push fn + spacebar and itll come right back on. He mightve hit it by accident but this is a feature of this laptop that you can turn off! nothing bad to say here besides the ultra huge powerblock!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat!

Pros: Fantastic look and feel. Easily removed HP junkware. Blu-ray player is amazing @ this price. 6gb of ram and a dedicated graphic card is unheard of @ this price. Running SC2 @ near ultra levels on my 46" tv w/no problems. Great machine!

Cons: I read a lot of reviews for this specific processor and most seem to hold true. The GPU being "onboard" does slow down some standard tasks. One program I was trying to use for ripping a dvd doesn't really even work (although the company confirmed that it was optimized for a pentium chipset) However, for my needs, which include some gaming, watching some video, playing/streaming lots of music and spending time online, its great!

Other Thoughts: Can't see how you can go wrong for just over 500$ Buy one now before they sell out again! Wait for my friend thought since I just sent him this way... ;)

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for a laptop

Pros: Dual graphics option nice, can switch off gaming card to save on loads of power. Front facing speakers. Great air flow for graphics card. Easily overclockable quad core AMD.

Cons: Gaming card gets hot as hell when in high demand, laptop cooling station almost needed for any prolonged gaming. Touchpad perimeter light blew out after two months, slightly demoralizing for the life of this laptop.

Other Thoughts: Great unit for an amazing price. I paid more to put together a similarly powered desktop.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: * Very impressive gaming performance for such a cheap, affordable laptop.
* Good OC potential. I was easily able to bump my CPU up to 2.4GHz and have had zero issues.
* Sexy design.
* Fingerprint scanner (Nothing too fancy, but it is kind of a cool feature).
* The audio, while not "MIND-BLOWING", is legions better than any other laptop I've used.
* Blu-ray equipped.
* THE PRICE!

Cons: * This thing is an absolute fingerprint magnet :(
* Tends to get rather hot during gaming. I highly recommend a laptop cooler.
* No Bluetooth support.

Other Thoughts: I have had mine for two weeks now, and his machine is great. For the $530 I paid, it does more than I could have ever imagined.

When my last laptop died, I knew that I didn't want to be stranded with another laptop that was completely incapable of playing games. I am a gamer, always have been. Unfortunately, these past few years I have been restricted to console gaming as my Toshiba Satellite was completely incapable of playing ANY game. I used to build PCs for gaming, but have since resorted to using laptops for the portability/convenience in relation to my lifestyle. Until now, it's been tough.

Fortunately, those days are over. This thing is a beast. Skyrim I can play on high settings, no problem. SWTOR runs near-flawlessly on highest settings (Have to turn down shadows, but no biggy). The only game I have had trouble with thus far is The Witcher 2, which I can only play on medium settings - understandably so.

Bottom line, if you want an affordable laptop for gaming - get t

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Laptop but a headache out of the box.

Pros: A lot of options for the price (Paid $530.) I'm currently playing Skyrim on it with high settings without any trouble.

Cons: A real pain to set up. A lot of bloatware. Needs BIOS updated. Needs drivers updated. Had problems with blue screen crashes until I got everything updated. Also had a problem with installed memory which I've since replaced.

Other Thoughts: All in all minus the headaches, this machine runs great now. It took me almost a whole weekend plus calls to HP support to get this set up right. I bought a 1 year extended warranty to give me a total of 15 months of warranties. Because of the warranties I haven't tried to overclock anything. Read the reviews and take the advice on the reviews before diving in this machine. There are several bad reviews, but with a little TLC, this machine has potential and for the price you really can't beat it.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent value and performance

Pros: Increadible overclocking potential (up to 2.4 GHz). Fantastic frame rates for modern games on medium-to-high settings. Blu-ray drive is a bonus. Beats audio is impressive for a laptop system. Saved about 50% on the price buying refurbished.

Cons: Filled with bloatware, but I expected that based on the other reviews. Opening the component shield to upgrade the RAM resulted in 30 minutes of hard work and several fits of rage, but getting it back on was easier.

Other Thoughts: The laptop came with 6GB or memory, but I upgraded to 16GB and the end result is amazing. 16GB is a little overkill, but nice to have nonetheless. Even though the system comes with a Blu-ray drive, Windows does not offer native Blu-ray playback. You'll need to purchase software like CyberLink PowerDVD 12 to watch Blu-ray movies.

All in all, this system is a steal at $500. Newegg indicated that this was a refurbished machine, but it's practically mint condition.
