5 out of 5 eggsHigh performance

Pros: Working very fast and stable. Ideal laptop for Mac OS X. I'm using it with Mountain Lion. All features works. Great video. Just added the memory to 8G.

Cons: Screen should be a little bit better.

1 out of 5 eggsSounds good on paper

Pros: Sounds like a decent laptop for the price.

Cons: Off the bat the unit was using 50% of the physical memory at idle on the desktop, removed the unnecessary startup processes and it was still claiming use of 40% of the memory (nearly 2gb of ram doing nothing on the desktop?) with the processes in task manager nowhere near that usage. Was going to just upgrade the ram and then the unit began to blue screen every half hour. Attempted to do a system restore out of the bios to rule out anything that I had done, and it crashed halfway through that stating that the recovery partition had been corrupted. Wonderful!

Other Thoughts: I would hope that I received a lemon but it doesn't look very promising. Trying to get it switched for another of the same model because the base features were good for the price.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat business laptop

Pros: Have been buying the probook 4530s series for almost 2 years now and have zero complaints. They take a beating and keep going strong. Full number pad and plenty of RAM and disk space.

Cons: Don't really need the extra graphics but for the price it'll have to do.

Other Thoughts: Every line of notebooks has some go bad but I have around 40 of these deployed and every one is still going strong. I had one come back with a crack on the lid from someone dropping it and it still worked! Another was covered in tar and beyond dirty and still worked as well.

3 out of 5 eggsAlmost out of one

Pros: This is supposed to be the de facto hackintosh laptop, my macbook just crapped out I'm hoping the triple boot will actually work on this like it wouldn't on the real mac. But can't complain someone bought a broken macbook for 300 and I will get this quad core for it.

Cons: we'll see

1 out of 5 eggsGet Warranty

Pros: It was a great system that had everything I needed to get my small business off the ground. I wasn't running many programs and the one's I did ran great. The screen size was great; not too big but large enough.

Cons: The mother board failed after owning it for 11 months. I knew the data was gone but the expense to replace the mother board has me looking for a new system. HP couldn't help and suggested that I get the extended warranty for my next computer. Also, the 90 day warranty started when the computer was made. By the time I received it I had about 2 weeks left on it.

Other Thoughts: Get an extended warranty if you buy this computer. I'm not at all "hard" on computers and am still a bit shocked that I have to replace it. Keep in mind that HP starts the warranty "clock" when the system is built and you may only have a week or two left when you actually receive your system.
