1 out of 5 eggsWorst product I've ever owned

Pros: It's a laptop.

Cons: Freezes up constantly and the only fix is to pop the battery out. Google HP 4530s keyboard problems to find out all the problems I and many other users have had with the keyboard and HP's non resolving of the issues, as 3000 characters isn't enough to describe all the problems I've had. (Said keyboard issues also won't allow me to start Firefox in non-safe mode, making me reboot Firefox 7-10 times a day which is as often as the keyboard acts up)

Mouse pad is overly sensitive, and will turn off constantly, and won't turn back on with the double tap like it is supposed to, causing me to have to plug in an external mouse to turn it back on. Mouse pointer also freezes up several times a week, and only recourse is to pop battery to fix. If your finger rests on it for more than a nanosecond, it will randomly start opening tabs, or shut down the window you're working in entirely.

The battery went from being able to go about 300 minutes before plugging in to about 120 minutes in less than 3 months. 8 months after buying this, I'm pretty much plugged into the wall all the time.

Customer service is obviously based out of India, and unlike other India-based service centers, English training seems to be a low priority, and I've always had to spell out several words (you can't just use letters, you have to understand the Alpha, Bravo, Charlie system. They don't understand it when you say A as in apple, you have to say A as in Alpha) and it takes forever to convey your problem, and nobody has ever understood what I'm saying enough to even attempt to help with a solution.

And lastly, just a few days ago when I was working on it, the bottom left side of my monitor turned grey and got a bunch of lines on it out of the blue, and has never been the same.

Other Thoughts: I've had this laptop about 8 months, and have never hated anything I've bought in my life more. I'm about to go and buy another one this morning because I can't take how many times I have to turn off, pop the battery, deal with a crazy keyboard that doesn't work or starts typing on its own, run to go get an external mouse to fix the mouse pad that doesn't work, etc. This is the biggest waste of money I've had in the 40 years of my life, and I will never, ever buy an HP product again.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat value.

Pros: Excellent value for the price (at time of purchase)
Keyboard is comfortable even for my larger hands
Less "bloatware" than I expected
Easy access to internal components

Cons: None that I can think of!

Other Thoughts: This is my first laptop/notebook purchase; the price, at the time of purchase very low for the specs offered, is what initially drew me in. I am very pleased with the unit so far (five or six months of ownership when writing this), with zero complaints other than "why didn't I buy one sooner?"

I'm not normally a fan of track-pads, and use a wireless mouse with my ProBook, but the one this ProBook comes with seems quite nice - good vertical and horizontal scroll responsiveness, without being excessively twitchy. And, happily for me, it can be easily turned on or off with a quick double-tap in one corner.

It hasn't been needed yet, but the maintenance panel - openable with the same latches that hold the battery in place - is reassuring to me; it gives access to most or all of the internal components, without having to open the case up entirely. I'll be able to monitor for dust build up much more easily, something that concerned me about laptops before purchasing this one.

5 out of 5 eggsI love this Notebook

Pros: -Enough RAM for what I want to do
-Great display
-Good sound
-Comes with free Office 2010, not trail but full
-Fingerprint scanner makes logging in simple and secure
-500GB is enough for me!
-Good built-in webcam
-Comfortable touchpad and gestures respond well
-Great screen size, not too big and not too small

I have had this PC for over a year and it runs just like I got it yesterday! I highly recommend this laptop.

Cons: When I first received this computer, the touchpad did not respond at all. This was resolved by downloading the driver from the HP support site.

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a fast, good looking, affordable PC, then this laptop is the way to go! Great for gaming, too! I have WoW, Skyrim, SWTOR, Left 4 Dead, and many other games and they all run great if the graphics are turned down, which is fine by me. With the graphics turned up, the frame-rate in the game may slow down and you may notice some delayed response times.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat deal for an enterprise laptop. Great option for Small Businesses

Pros: We purchased 4 of these for use in our office. We've had them for about two months and they're all working beautifully with no issues. Connecting them to our server was very easy as is pushing software updates. They're quite sturdily built and attractive.

Cons: Pretty heavy but to be expected at this size.

2 out of 5 eggsNot Good

Pros: Fast, Decent Screen, Decent Speaker Volume, Durable Exterior *** Newegg customer service is very helpful and cooperative. ***

Cons: Touch pad intermittently doesn't work, recurring strange static sound when listening to music or watching video, keys go into shift lock and number pad stops working, can only type symbols, mouse pad intermittently highlights large areas when trying to click specific areas.

Other Thoughts: This is my second ProBook 4530s. First one was an i3 which had the same mouse pad problems and also didn't take charge from the power connection. This one I'm reviewing is the ProBook 4530s i5 with fingerprint security.
I have to say that I don't have issues with connectivity but there are too many other things that I'm concerned will only get worse. I've only had this laptop for a couple of months. I'm sure that this model is flawed. There aren't too many other reviews to go by so I made the purchase bcuz the price was good for the features. I use it for work; inventory program. Now I have to purchase a new laptop and pay again to redownload my inventory program from the manufacturer. I'm not happy.
