4 out of 5 eggsHP Probook 4440s

Pros: Nice compact business laptop, good display, reasonable battery life

Cons: It takes over three hours for the laptop to load software! That is just plane stupid as the toshiba laptops we have are already configured out of the box with only user information required.

Other Thoughts: I quit buying HP workstations for our business needs a few years back when the last one arrived in pieces. I'm not kidding, no operating system and the drives were in another box.

5 out of 5 eggsWell built, cheap, mobile computing laptop.

Pros: This laptop is very nice for the price. It is well built and has easy access to the internals for upgrades/repairs.

To access the hdd bay/memory slots/wifi card slot, ect... just remove the battery then slide the battery release switches again and the bottom access panel comes off. You then have access to everything including the cpu fan and cooler.

Cons: It took a bit to disable the HP bundled software, but that was done in less than 30 min.

Other Thoughts: The unit has the space for an extra min-pci card like an mcl ssd, and the system board has the solder tracing for it, but HP failed to put the actual slot in. The wifi card is a hafd sized one and the space it is in has no room for a larger one. So if you are thinking of taking the wifi card out and subing in a ssd, it will not work unless you have a half sized one.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat HQ laptop.

Pros: Fairly lightweight
Chiclet keyboard
Battery life
Metal finish
easy access rear panel
4GBx1 for an easy upgrade to 8GB
Fingerprint reader works well
Very nice screen.
Quiet
Runs cool

Cons: Speakers are awful
If you add your own SSD there is a bug that will not see the SSD on cold boot. Works perfect after soft reset. annoying is all
up/down keys are too small (each is a half key and they take up one slot together) WASD is fine though
headphone jack is on the front

Other Thoughts: Picked this up cheap from someone who won it at an HP event. I love it. I ordered a HDD caddy for the optical bay from elsewhere on the internet and put a 40GB SSD in it for the OS and now it flies. got to keep the 500GB storage for my DJ music library.

Just because you got defective memory doesn't mean the laptop is bad. Even if they don't cover it its like $15 for 4 more GB ram

1 out of 5 eggsHP no support for their products

Pros: portable and quite nice when it works.

Cons: HP has no vote of confidence from me as their memory module has failed 3 weeks ago and I am still waiting for a replacement. This laptop is 3 months old and I understand that with all parts some will fail but the least HP could do is better support the replacement of those parts especially when they are under warranty.

Other Thoughts: I will no longer purchase any HP products as it is NOT the company it once was, don't be fooled!
