4 out of 5 eggsdell laptop

Pros: clean, good condition, no marks or scratches, functions and feels new.
speakers have good sound.
delivered promptly after shipping.

Cons: shipping took almost the entire day to be processed even though I paid for rush processing. they barely made it.
battery life not so good.
even just a pdf owners manual would have been nice. i.e. where to find it.

Other Thoughts: my experience rates as very good but needs to work on the small details. life happens, and we can't have excellence all the time, but attention to the small things shows the buyer that you really tried. who then writes a great review in spite of any shortcomings.

2 out of 5 eggsFirst Dell refurb that had to go back

Pros: A few upgrades that I didn't expect: Came with a sd card reader and what looks like it might be a scrollable mouse pad - don't know for sure though because I didn't even bother turning the thing on, I was so disgusted with the crack/split.

Cons: After purchasing 2 Dell refurbs in the past year or so, and being thrilled with each, I decided to do it again - this time for a graduation gift for my daughter. We received it today. The metal case had cheap stickers stuck over both sides of the palm rest area and a big black sticker stuck over the outside lid. Horrible. I have to think that the black metal cover is painted and the black paint is probably scratched to heck and their answer is to slap a black sticker on top of things. The reason this laptop had to go back was the side would not close together - a top side piece flexed and wouldn't stay put and close the side. Unacceptable. This laptop was a junker - never even bothered turning it on.

Other Thoughts: I no longer rave about Newegg's Dell refurbs. Don't know what to think now. Newegg's customer service is still top rate though. I hope the replacement is acceptable, if not I don't know what we are going to do, don't want to gift my daughter a piece of junk.
