Cons: Unit was dead on arrival. Would not boot. Would not blink. NOTHING> You would think that refurbished would mean that someone at least turned the unit on to make sure it worked.

Big waste of time and money

Cons: None. I don't like the resolution of the screen on a 15" panel. Almost need a magnifying glass to read. Windows can make the fonts bigger but it's not much better.

Other Thoughts: So far, it's pretty clean and still solid. Kinda dusty but it looks like it has been taken care of very well. I would buy another confidently. Just take care that these are refurbished units and may have hidden issue. The warranty may prove worth the cost.

Pros: You simply can not beat this deal for a dual core spotless laptop! As long as you are fine with windows XP Pro (who wouldn't be!!?? I still run it and I'm a tech) you will love this deal...assuming it is as clean as this one was. I'm ordering another one as I write this review for yet another customer.

Cons: No cons on unit itself...Free shipping is kinda brutal but I did order it just before Christmas (21st) and then we had the "blizzard" so I get it...

Other Thoughts: Love ya newegg....but please go back to the old days when nothing got by you! I keep seeing laptops in the refurb section (I go there a LOT!!) that don not list sreen size and then I have to go looking around to find info.

Pros: I have a Dell D630 rather than the 830 and while it is rather plain and a bit dated it has worked great for years. The real reason I'm writing this review is to complain about the lack of useful information in the product description. Yes I can look up the specs on Dell's website but there are three graphics options with three different resolutions and Newegg should clearly state which resolution and graphics system these laptops contain especially when none of the resolutions offered by Dell matches the "standard" laptop resolution you always seem to get stuck with (1280x768).

Cons: Newegg fails to state what the native resolution of the screen is and whether the graphics are discrete Nvidia or integrated Intel.

Other Thoughts: Based on the price I assume this laptop has Intel GMA X3100 integrated graphics and supports a resolution of 1280x800 but you can't tell from the info posted by Newegg. They used to be so good about posting accurate specs too.

Pros: I'm a mobile copier/printer repair technician. This is my company issued laptop. I take this laptop everywhere I go. My initial disdain for the lack of cutting edge performance and modern look has evolved into trust and appreciation for what it does well, that is it doesn't break. I have dropped it, left it on in a hot car, plugged a gazillion things into it, all more times than I care to admit. It has never failed me.

Cons: I'm sure I probably could have cured this by tightening up the hinges, but one day I had it on the seat next to me and the vibration from the road was making the lid chatter against the body. I simply installed some self-adhesive rubber pads to the inside of the top of the lid and haven't heard a peep since.

Other Thoughts: If you're a mobile worker who values ruggedness and solid performance for a great, I would recommend this laptop to you. If you have a teenager who seems to break everything, this may be a good choice.
