5 out of 5 eggsLove the XPS10

Pros: I was fortunate enough to get a special price on this (-$100) last Christmas. I am very impressed. The screen and video is amazing. I marvel at the battery life, probably due to the Qualcomm SnapDragon processor. Supports additional flash storage up to 64GB and usb dongle to connect other devices or storage. I do not use the docking station but know it allows HDMI out. I have a Bluetooth keyboard and use that when I need to type more extensively.

Cons: This is only with Windows RT. It does not allow any applications to be installed outside of the Windows store. There are plenty of apps and more every day but not as many as other platforms.

Other Thoughts: For a Windows tablet you can't go wrong choosing Dell. This device is solid!

4 out of 5 eggsDell hardware is great, Windows RT is "ok"

Pros: Touchpad and keyboard dock are great, I use it in a business environment and knowing RT's limitations I purchased it with the idea of using it for mobile tasks around the office and using RDP to access my desktop when I needed to do heavier tasks that I can not install on RT. This would be difficult without the touchpad and keyboard as RTs "desktop" mode is not overly touch friendly. Battery life is pretty good as well, especially with the dock. The device is as quick and snappy as should be expected, overall satisfied.

Cons: Most of my cons would be with Windows RT and not this device. Do your research and know the limitations of Windows RT before making your purchase. I have seen several reviews on other sites blasting the device when the problem they have is with the OS, not the hardware. I've had the machine lock up on me a time or two after removing it from the dock, requiring a hard reboot. I often have an issue when multiple users are logged on, when I log off (instead of switch user) the device will often lock up requiring a reboot. It also seems confused on where to draw its power from. I believed from the advertising that while docked, the device should draw its power from the dock, and then if you undock after 8 hours you should in theory leave a dock which is 30% charged and take a tablet away that is 100% charged. Doesn't work that way, I can check the battery status at any given time and it seems completely random, at times I'll see the tablet battery is down to 30% and the dock battery is still at 95%. Why? That doesn't make sense to me, if its a setting I cant find it. But again, I put those things on Windows RT, not on Dell in this case.

Other Thoughts: My overall thoughts are that it does some things better/nicer/faster than an iPad or Android tablet and becasue its a windows device you can do things better/nicer/faster as well as things you simply can't do on those devices. It also does several things not nearly as nice as an iPad or an Android tablet. But again, these things are mostly due to Windows RT limitations, not Dells design of the device. I would say that Dell did as good of a job as could be done with Windows RT, it simply is what it is. Its neither a wonderful nor a terrible OS, but know what it is, know its strenghts and limitations and decide if that OS is right for your needs. If Windows RT is the right OS for you, then this tablet is a great RT tablet.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little tablet

Pros: Fast (noticeably faster than the MS Surface), nice screen, clean design, SD card expansion. It's great for just about everything I use on a tablet, and many things I only thought I'd do with a PC.

Cons: Storage is a bit low, but that's to be expected on a tablet. Can't store more than a few movies on it. I bring along three 32GB SD cards to hold all my 720p movies when I travel.

Other Thoughts: With friends and coworkers who have the Surface, I find the XPS10 to be superior. That's why I ordered it instead of the Surface. (Now, I said "Surface" not "Surface Pro". The Surface Pro is in an entirely different category, and price range. This won't compare to the Surface Pro, but it costs a whole lot less, too.) I advise getting it with the keyboard dock for better battery life and many functions you can't do without a touchpad. A lot of WinRT is still geared around using a touchpad or mouse. It's not a 100% tablet OS.
