3 out of 5 eggsPretty much what I expected, except...

Pros: I got it on sale and for the price I couldn't find a better gaming laptop. The keys seem well spaced, and the numpad is almost as easy to use as a regular keyboard. The lighted keys looks neat I guess.

Cons: They keyboard is awful. As soon as mine gets warm just resting my right hand underneath the keys will depress the plastic enough to hit random keys on the keyboard. And this thing runs hot, even with a powered cooling pad underneath it. The battery life is abysmal. At idle I get about 40 mins, if I'm doing ANYTHING it cuts that in half. The GTX 560M may be 3D capable, but expect a HUGE FPS loss when your turn it on.

Other Thoughts: I know gaming laptops are almost an oxymoron, but if you do go down that road, spend a little more money and get something a lot better.

1 out of 5 eggsToshiba Qosmio....a real disappointment

Pros: Looks nice out of the box. This is my second high end Toshiba laptop. Has nice keyboard lighting....when you can control it. Sound is fair, but once again only when you can control it. Best to keep it turn off due to the short battery life, approx. 1.5 hrs.

Cons: For the $1400.00 I spent I should had gone with a mac. Frankly this was very disappointing starting with only after one week the "Q" in the cover constantly gets caught on anything that touches it and bends. Toshiba did want to know nothing about cometic problems, said I should had returned it for refund. Speed wise, for all the's a "dog". A dead dog. Far too slow, has lousy memory. Open more than 6 windows and it just stals. The 3D really dropped the ball. Have yet to watch one movie where I didn't constantly have to rewind the movie cause the sound was not in sink with the picture. Tried updateds and it just got worst. Tech support was basicly non exsistant. They knew less about the 3D than I do, and I know very little. Its very heavy, so don't try to walk around with it and when placing it down it needs to be on a cushion of air otherwise it will dump the O.S. Best to shut it down if you have to move it from room to room. Definitely not a travel along laptop. The i7 intel processor, just doesn't impress me. Just as bad as the i3. The web cam has bad resolution and its poor in low or mediun light. All in all, its nice the first week as long as you don't use it. Looks pretty, but in the performance department it drops the ball completely. My $200.00 HP out performs it by far price per pound. The O.S., Windows 7, I'm just not impressed, seems to have just been a cheap substitute while Windows 8 was in the works. Windows Vista was much better. At least Vista had some "bells & whistles". And battery life....come on Toshiba.... 1.5 hrs only! How about something that at very least will last thru at least one downloaded movie. This day and age nothing less than a 4 hour life span should be minimun on any laptop.

Other Thoughts: Like every Toshiba, you have to scrap the memory and upgrade it if you want to multitask on the web. the standard memory just never seems to cut it. You would think for this price it would come with desent memory quality. Newegg should included a $150.00 credit for memory upgrade with each one of these sold.

3 out of 5 eggsNice - for awhile

Pros: Nice looking, worked very well the first year

Cons: After the warranty ran out, seemed like the streaming video got really choppy, very annoying, other than that I like it, but really like to watch movies on my laptop, and I connect at 30 which is definitely high speed and connected direct and not wireless so I do not understand what started happening, but I am researching it.

5 out of 5 eggsWay sick

Pros: Awesome screen. The 10-key is crazy handy. It comes with minimal Toshiba preloaded software which is awesome and easy to hide from view.

The Nvidia card is absolutely amazing. Given proper drivers and settings the 3d is way fun.

Plays High Def content very well.- Avatar BR in 3D made my all giddy inside.

Processor and GPU run at fairly average to low temps. It cools itself well.-see cons

Back light on the keyboard is a wonderful touch. - mean looking computer.

8G of ram is quite nice, definitely uses all of it when it needs to, which is nice, super fast everything.

Cons: *I didnt take an egg off because it is much cheaper than other models that would contain the improvements or customizations*

Worst: The hybrid drive is such a bottleneck. If this thing had a SSD it would warp into another dimension. Thats probably my next upgrade. Everything is just so fast and the hybrid is alright, startup is quick, but its just not perfect. But to get one with a ssd from toshiba is another 800 plus, after customization, so have to live with it for now

-Vent is on the left, where the power cable and usb cables plug in = hot wires = not the greatest

which leads to the usb placement. they are forward on the computer which makes having a mouse to the right kind of hard with a usb anything plugged in there. just wire management- them towards the rear would be much better.

- The touchpad is 1 inch too far left for me, my hand barely rests close to it and it triggers it- probably get used to it but its just kind of annoying.

Other Thoughts: For 1300, the cons are just nitpicky. The SSD would be the best upgrade but everything else shouldn't be too big of a deal. The thing weighs more than a lead elephant but when you buy a gaming pc with a 17" screen, you don't really plan on moving it a whole lot, maybe from the desk to couch etc.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Laptop

Pros: Very fast and smooth play in all my games, Half Life 2, Portal, Starcraft 2. 3D is amazing. Cooling fans run quietly. Included 3D capable webcam was an unexpected bonus. Also, not littered with a ton of free software that you don't want and have remove.

Cons: Bulky and heavy, its a serious machine.

Other Thoughts: I love this laptop, too bad its shown as being out of stock. I got it at the right time I guess.

4 out of 5 eggsToshiba does it again

Pros: The Large screen (17"), Stereoscopic 3D, Nvidia Gtx560m and processor (i7 2630qm) come together to make an awesome laptop.
It breezes through tasks such as Autocad, Autodesk 3ds max and especially games at very high settings like dirt3, battlefield 3, mw3 and f1 2011.
Overall a very good multi-tasking/gaming/design and CAD work system.

Cons: For right now I just have to say that the battery life is not very good at 2hrs with 3D OFF. However, I have gained about 45 minutes more by setting the screens refresh rate to 60/75hz when not using 3d since it doesn't affect the performance of the system on a whole.
That 120hz refresh rate is really for 3d.

Other Thoughts: Of course, the laptop comes preloaded with Toshiba bloatware and otherwise unnecessary programs which can always be rid of.
Once again, 3D - A BIG +!!!!

1 out of 5 eggsI Love Receiving Defective Products

Pros: I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Cons: First, let me say, I’m emphatic about following directions. That being said, upon powering up the nearly $2k Qosmio, I immediately inserted a DV+R to create a recovery disc. After trashing nearly a dozen discs, as the process never completed without an error, I called the manufacturer. The tech says, you wont find this anywhere in the user guide, but the Qosmio prefers DV-R’s. What? For sake, the thing has a blue ray burner. Anyway, welcome back to the 1990's. Ok. Run and pick up a bundle of –R’s. Nope. Apparently Qosmio doesn’t like the 21st century either. Rather than an error message, the recovery creator simply doesn’t respond. But hey, I can send it in for repair (Geez, swell!).
