Pros: Great laptop, worked fine for a while, Fast, Powerful, and useful!

Cons: After about 6 months the fan started making a loud clicking or grinding noise. I disassembled the laptop to discover that the fan was a cheap plastic junk, there was nothing in the fan to make the sound, but the fan is held up by it's week magnets and gravity pulls it into it's plastic housing, thus making the annoying noise. after a while the fan stopped working and the laptop overheated and never worked the same since, its like it's working at 1/8th speed, slower then an old XP laptop.

Other Thoughts: I would have though Toshiba would have installed a better fan into this product. I have been a long standing customer with Toshiba products and always known them for their quality. This is a real shame, not only the faulty fan was a cause of a lot of annoyance but it also eventually killed the laptop itself.. and it is not even a year old...

Pros: Have had for about 8 months now and has worked flawlessly. Hopefully it stays that way!

I really hate the laptop

Pros: Great specs for the price. Specs leave room for expansion.

Cons: The chassis is "okay" it looks good, but doesn't feel quite as robust as some. That is not to say that it isn't, it just doesn't feel "chunky". Fiddling with optimus tech can be tricky at times.

Other Thoughts: I'm very satisfied with this purchase. It fills its role exactly as intended. All around desktop replacement/mobile dj/business computer. I would recommend it.

As a Toshiba laptop owner, you can't repair a laptop at authorized provider. You have to BUY "extra warranty" (which covers nothing more) only to let you repair laptop at local. After charged $25 for shipping to Toshiba's repair center. They want $365 plus $60 labor fee for repair a laptop. Their repair center is more like a scam. After searching Toshiba at consumerist blog, I finds out their repair center charged customer $417.85 for fix a defective HDD.

For anyone who is willing pay $800+ for a laptop, go for a MBP. That's a real premium. You get best design and top ranked service. and Toshiba want to mark their product for elit, but their services is even worse than Acer and Lenovo.

The Toshiba hard drive inside is slow and unreliable. Replace it with WD or Hitachi HDD if you can (or a SSD beast).

Pros: Decent price/performance point

Cons: Hard drive croaked 4 months in, Toshiba wants the whole machine for two weeks instead of just sending a drive.

Pros: I had previously purchased a Lenovo (cant remember model but it had what I was looking for which was a GT540 graphics card) off another site. When it arrived the GPU was DOA> Had I have checked the feedback prior I would have known that that model was problematic regarding the GPU. I quickly returned it (fast refund by the way) and then purchased this laptop from newegg. This laptop is great!!!! Its fast, all the games I installed on it run very well on high settings and is a well built intelligent machine. The graphics card switching is flawless

Cons: Not a con but the hard drive Impact Sensor is a pain. So instead of decreasing the sensitivity I just disabled it. The only TRUE con would be is if you didn't buy this laptop!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Other Thoughts: As with any major purchase consider buying the extended / accidental damage warranty from Toshiba. I purchased over the phone and received a 40% discount which wasn't available if purchased online.

Other Thoughts: I received this item DOA I tried called Toshiba and they just told me to send it back to the retailer. I sent it back and it got rejected by newegg because apparently the serial number on the box did not match the serial number on the machine. So I am out 800 dollars and still using my wife's laptop.

Pros: This laptop is simply astonishing. For the relatively cheap price, you are getting an impressive graphics card (1gb dedicated video memory), 4gb of RAM, and a quad-core i7 processor in a machine. This laptop has more power than 9 out of 10 people will ever need and is simply amazing.

Cons: The keyboard is a bit irritable at times, but that is extremely minor compared to what the laptop's capabilities are.

Cons: Although I haven't even seen this computer and I hope it turns out to be a good one, I have to comment on the super slow service.

I'm in Afghanistan and bought this laptop for my son's birthday. The price was very good and you advertised free 2-day shipping. Well, I ordered this one week ago today, it then took 3 days for my credit card to be verified, and now a week later my son still doesn't have his birthday present. Very disappointing and I'll think twice about buying from newegg.com in the future.
