2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: battery life, quiet.

Cons: unpleasant ergonomics. No connectors in the back, usb lower right corner interferes with the mouse. Keypad/mouse buttons large and get stuck. Have to reset the keyboard (windows 7) by rebooting (most keys are send wrong input). Letter "S" gets stuck. What else?
Wifi gets lost (I have a Dell laptop going to the same wifi router in the house) and that one is fine, so I have to disconnect/reconnect frequently. This is a substandard product from every point of view.

Other Thoughts: I will think twice before buying another Toshiba

Pros: very nice screen...and blueray player, has been a solid laptop and a great desktop replacement.

Cons: 100 meg nic screen has dead pixcel. Came in a box from toshiba that I was sure the pc was trashed and almost sent it back just for that.

1 out of 5 eggsBad Toshiba BAD bad...

Pros: Would've been a good value. Received eggcellent customer service with my return.

Cons: Blue screen of death upon start, wireless worked for 1 minute before machine restarted itself over and over. Returned immediately. As a user of Toshiba Laptops, they have a quality product. This unit was a lemon. I am still using my Toshiba Satellite P205-S6237 from 2007. Boat anchor and slow in comparison to today's technology, but still going strong.

Other Thoughts: Used to be buying a refurbished item was a plus, because the item was gone over with a fine tooth comb, as opposed to it having a brief quality control look-over right off the assembly line. I guess Toshiba didn't look very close at this laptop, if at all. Multiple issues out of the box. Personally have not seen the blue screen of death or the stuck restarting over and over in a long time.
Although I was aware that Newegg policy is not to exchange items. I was disappointed that they would not swap this broken for the identical laptop (short of the color and actual model # everything else was exactly the same) because by the time they refunded my money, the comparable model was gone and they had nothing even close to the deal or the pc stats. This whole fiasco from placing the order to receiving my refund took over 3 weeks. That was a bit lengthy in my opinion.

1 out of 5 eggsRecieved 2 broken

Pros: It would be a decent laptop, if every one I recieved wasn't broken.

Cons: The first one of these I received was broken. Newegg replaced the broken one with another broken one. I'll never buy another refurb from here again.

Other Thoughts: Both came with hard drive issues. Toshiba tech assistance was useless. I now have to pay for shipping yet again, just to probably get another broken laptop. I've lost faith in newegg.

2 out of 5 eggscame with broken case

Pros: well equipped, large screen, Blu-ray-drive

Cons: The first device was delivered with a broken case. The housing had not been destroyed during transport.
The reason was a USB receiver of a wireless mouse that was still in the USB port.
The previous owner seems to have the receiver mounted with a hammer.
To me it is a mystery how Toshiba was able to deliver such a device without noticing that damage.
Fortunately, Newegg has replaced the laptop without problems.

2 out of 5 eggsArrived Broken

Pros: It's a nice laptop. Large screen, it's fast, lots of storage.

Cons: The computer arrived with hard drive problems, saying that the hard drive will soon fail. Not what I want for the money I spent.

Other Thoughts: If I would have gotten one with no problems, I would've rated this 5/5.

5 out of 5 eggsLarge Notebook - Modest Cost

Pros: A large vibrant screen with a comfortable full sized keyboard.

An uncluttered, stylish notebook layout and format, it may be refurbished but I could not find any cosmetic blemishes. The understated dark blue brushed aluminum finish doesn’t stick out like a sore thumb but won’t leave you feeling like you purchased another boring cheap looking plastic grey notebook.

An ample hard disk & DDR memory capacity; with all the bundled software and after all the usual updates the free space left on the HDD came to an ample 550 GB – uninstalling unwanted software liberated more space.

A Blu-ray /DVD combo drive; not an essential component by any means but a nice bonus feature to have.

Bluetooth connectivity in addition to the usual Wi-Fi.

A very reasonable purchase price.

Cons: The AMD A6 processor couldn’t be described as a ‘power-house’ APU but I don’t need that much raw processing power. The A6 processor does all that I want it to do without noticeable pause. I guess it’s a question of doing your homework and buying the right processor for the job you intend to do and the money you can afford to spend.

Wi-Fi reception seems a little weaker than I would have expected?

The speakers seem a little underpowered; I haven’t experienced any real problems with media playback though I did notice the volume settings I’m using are higher than I’d expect?

It’s a minor shame that the unit only has USB 2.0 – but it’s not a deal breaker for me.

Like many PC’s today the Toshiba comes with too much bundled software that really takes a while to remove.

The very large ‘TOSHIBA’ logo on the front of this notebook looks a bit over-the-top to me but I think I’m being picky now!

Other Thoughts: Firstly, I am not especially expert with computers; just a regular user like most people I know. I was looking to replace a six year old 15-inch 80 GB notebook with something that could cope with my basic home computing needs; a larger screen, a full sized keyboard and a reasonable price point. I wanted a notebook that would work well, have nice features and preferably not look embarrassingly cheap! The refurbished Toshiba Satellite L775D I purchased from Newegg fits the bill in every respect.

This is the first refurbished purchase I've made and I’m really pleased to say that the unit I have seems to work exactly as it should.

Standard shipping time to Atlantic Canada was speedy, but the unit was damaged because of some mishap between Newegg & me. I contacted Newegg & was VERY impressed by their level of customer service & simple claim process. The replacement laptop arrived a few days later without further issue. Great job Newegg!
