5 out of 5 eggsSweet PC

Pros: Awesome Power for a laptop. Can play games, multitask, and is great for any user.

Cons: Could use a little bit better battery life but it still gets around 4 hours.

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

Pros: Great performance for the cost, good battery life, full numpad, good capacitive touchpad

Cons: Just three days ago all brightness control stopped working. It is stuck on full brightness and not only killing the battery but hurting my eyes. I have tested this with both windows and linux (including an unmodified live-cd)

I have tried updating my graphics driver, but the AMD site states they do not support the Toshiba chipsets and to use their site for OEM support. The site has 0 drivers on it for this model and I have found numerous other postings on this issue for the L755D's and some people say to update the bios. However, no bios could be found on the Toshiba site. Would not buy this model again!

4 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: Handles many of the games I play with no trouble whatsoever on medium-high settings. Runs Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike: Source, Borderlands, World of Warcraft, and Rift (needs to run on low to get good FPS on this one) to name a few.

Cons: Seems to have a problem where shutting the lid brings it out of sleep mode if you've already put it to sleep which is a small problem for me since I hate having it set to go to sleep when I close the lid.

Other Thoughts: Overall a great value for the money you pay for it.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Laptop

Pros: Runs all my games including BF3 on Medium - Very High graphics settings, its very fast, quad-core CPU,HD6520 graphics ...nice package, lots of power for the price.

Cons: Hits 72C while playing games without a cooling pad,

Graphics card memory limited to 512megs and no option to increase it if laptop ram is increased to 8-gigs,

Strange problem with sound getting dim with no way to make it as loud as it was before(yes I used the function button and the number 4..)

Other Thoughts: I increased the ram to 8-gigs and windows experience index went up to 7.5 for the ram ... I bought Centon DDR3 1333 dual-channel laptop kit..

3 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

Pros: Felt sturdy, and had good battery life. Very large (pro or con)

Cons: Toshiba *Loaded* it up with hefty toshiba apps and gadgets. The function keys did not work properly and I could not change the brightness, even through windows. brightness was maxed out constantly which not only kills battery but prevents comfortable use at night. Do not buy for the money. It was replace only, but newegg refunded me my money anyway.

Other Thoughts: spend your money elsewhere (on an asus or acer)

4 out of 5 eggsQuality

Pros: Quad-Core
Low Watts
Low Freq/Good turbo
Integrated Graphics
Full keyboard
Excellent Screen

Cons: The webcam speaker was not functional out of the box. I fixed it by reformatting, turning fast boot to off(kind of pointless really) and reinstalling the Conexent driver (which is done automatically when deleted)

Other Thoughts: Got this as a christmas deal but right now, AMD is offering a very respectable and capable entry level APU thats giving the i3-2xxx and first gen i5s a run for there money.
Again, this is my opinion for the $400-500 15.6" laptop market.

4 out of 5 eggsGood and Powerful Budgeted Laptop for slightly enthusiasted gamers.

Pros: -Quite fast
-Runs games smoothly, even the latest on medium-low settings. (Ran Skyrim and Mass Effect 2 nicely on medium)
-Decent battery life compare to other laptops I’ve owned or have.
-Lighter weight compare to other laptops I’ve owned or have (though not as sturdy built, see cons below).
-Evenly spaced keyboard and touchpad

Cons: -Runs a little hot (as expected from an AMD), makes me paranoid the cpu fan might die down the road.
-Wireless is a little sketchy. At times it’s difficult to detect signals and loses signal frequently having to do a lot of reconnects. I’ve even tried this with my other laptops with the same spot, as they would pick up and maintain strong stable wifi signals, while this Toshiba does not. Though this isn’t a major problem, but it gets annoying in area without very strong wifi signals.
-The built feels a little flimsy, a lot less sturdier than my other laptops. Feels like if I mishandle it a bit, the whole thing might break apart.

Other Thoughts: -Glad I bought it for around $400. Been working nicely and smoothly so far for the 6 weeks I’ve had it with just a few minor annoyances (but nothing is perfect). Though I will be careful to physically handle this laptop with care. Though I’ve should held out for an A8 processor which might be around the same price soon. I will update this more later on.

5 out of 5 eggsFast and excellent value

Pros: - Fast, quad-core CPU
- 4GB RAM (more than adequate for most tasks)
- Excellent keyboard ad layout

Cons: - Case design is okay, but would have preferred simple single-color design

Other Thoughts: The APU allows for some older games to run very well at high settings and FPS, and newer games (like Skyrim) are playable on low to medium settings. No real complaints about this laptop, it's an excellent value for the price whether or not it's on sale.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Computer For the Price

Pros: It has a quad core processor, a surprisingly good graphics card, and 4 gigs of ram. This thing is very fast, has very little bloatware, and can run all of my games in MED- HIgh graphics when I am on the go!

The best part about this computer is the bang for your buck. I bought it for 400 dollars. There is no other laptop at this price that is any better than this. Many are much worse. It is a great buy and I am very pleased with it.

Cons: I should have bought this thing sooner.

4 out of 5 eggsabout 3-4 weeks ago this was the best bang for the buck.

Pros: price performance ratio (this has high bang for the buck)
lightweight
fast RAM
APU
bright screen
comfie keyboard
depending on where you live, shipping and tax are free!

Cons: wireless problems (see below)
questionable durability in the long run (though I must admit, plastic cuts down on its weight, which is important for portability)
smallish 320GB HDD
annoying touchpad sensitivity (see below)

Other Thoughts: About 3 weeks ago, this was the best bang for the buck. Now, you can get similar laptops everywhere for about $50 less than the $399 I paid (before special offers tacked on). The A6 APU is great. Two annoying things I encountered were 1) the wifi had trouble connecting to an old SMC wireless router, but I think this has more to do with Time Warner Cable than Toshiba since it worked fine with a different wireless router and 2) the touchpad is so sensitive that lots of times if my palm or thumb was lightly touching the frame of the computer, the touchpad would interpret that as one touch, making my index finger's touch a 2nd point of contact and throwing me into multitouch mode.

Now you can get similar units with a B950/940 or P6200. You sacrifice the A6 graphics, but with lots of office apps it won't make a difference and you save about 50 bucks. THIS IS NOT A HARDCORE GAMING MACHINE, although the video performs well in general.
