1 out of 5 eggsToshiba always lives down to my expectations

Pros: small and light. Fairly responsive, and good size. auto upgrade to ICS

Cons: 1 yr and 3 months into ownership without heavy use, like Words with Friends and Kindle books, the external camera ceased to function s did the audio and the flash just decided to stay on all the time, which not only creates a serious drain on the battery, but also over heats the tablet and is just a royal pain in the derriere..

Other Thoughts: Should have spent the additional $100 for an i-Pad!

Thank you Toshiba for another unpleasant user experience.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This takes sixty Gig SD cards UHS or class ten. Move files to and from PC with USB. Uses al the good high end apps. Large enough to watch good netfilx. Not be crosseyed to do it. Small enouigh to fit in purse or book. I have seven college aged girls including grand daughters. We have the whiz bang Ipad but after getting the Thrive no one wants to use the too cumbersome ipad. We also have a nexus 7 what a waste, how do you use the cloud when you have no connection can not use the no SD card slot. We now have five Trives and everyone rocks. The Ipad and the nexus 7 are sitting on the table in the den.

Cons: Waiting for someone to mention something they do not like about their Thrive.

Other Thoughts: With the increase of these getting stolen I have a solution for you. Find a hardback book that is larger and thicker than your tablet cut a hole in the pages that fit your tablet put tablet inside so when the tablet is left sitting in the car or anywhere else it is just an uninteresting book so no stolen tablet.

5 out of 5 eggsAn amazing, exceptional device

Pros: It was a hard decision but I bought this instead of the Google Nexus 7 and I am glad I did. The 5 MP camera and SD Card slot are paying off nicely. I wear it on my belt in a custom pouch. I have anticipated something like this since the late 1990's. The 7" is now on ICS as of last night.

Cons: Slow rear camera

4 out of 5 eggsNice tablet, old software

Pros: * 1280x800 screen
* great viewing angles
* 16GB of storage AND micro SD
* micro HDMI output
* Responsive interface
* Front and rear camera

The high-DPI of the screen has to be seen to be believed. Previously this was the only 7" tab with such a high-res screen. Now you can get one on the Nexus 7, too.

This has front and rear cameras, and they work well enough.

Tegra 2 isn't top of the line anymore, but it's still zippy. 1GB of system RAM is nice, too. Good and smooth with multitasking (as good as Honeycomb can be anyway).

16GB is plenty of storage for me, especially with a 32GB micro SD card. The internal storage is all one partition for apps and whatnot, rather than arbitrarily split up.

Cons: * Stuck on Honeycomb
* Stupid proprietary charger connection

Toshiba has pushed back and pushed back their ICS update date, and there has been no discussion about Jelly Bean. If you want timely updates, you should probably go with ASUS tablets as they're already on ICS and working on JellyBean.

Other Thoughts: I got it open-box from Newegg, so it might not show as a "verified owner". Still, I did buy it from Newegg. :D

3 out of 5 eggsOk Tablet

Pros: Fast processor, smooth switching between apps, decent graphics.

Cons: The volume is low even when on the highest setting.
The touch screen lags and doesn’t work correctly.
The Gmail freezes up, when I am writing messages it starts freezes up and the touch screen becomes unresponsive.
The Power button and the volume up button stopped working. I was watching a movie and the volume up button just stopped working. I kept trying to press it but no joy. I can turn the volume down just fine but not up. I can’t power it off as the power button stopped working. I don’t know what happened but whenever I touch it it feels soft and doesn’t work. Any ideas on how to fix both buttons?

Other Thoughts: This is a decent tablet for the money and i enjoyed using it untill the problems that i encountered.
Over all it's a good mid ranged tablet that works well for general use. Would be nice to find a way to fix the above mentioned problems.

5 out of 5 eggsLove, Love, Love the Tohsiba Thrive

Pros: Memory expansion through SD cards (up to 126GB)
Full USB port for ease of transfer of data
Beautiful screen quality
Ease of adding an extra battery

Cons: Finding bags and cases for it

Other Thoughts: I bought this for my daughter's final year in high school and I'm looking for one for myself now. This is a snappy little tablet. It's got great speed and you can add memory via a SD card. Books, pictures, videos and music can all be stored out on the SD card, leaving the onboard 16GB for apps. With a bluetooth keyboard and the download of an app, my daughter has been able to leave her laptop at home and now has her reading books and her school papers with her in her bag. LOVE the TOSHIBA THRIVE.

1 out of 5 eggsfrustrating beyond belief

Pros: Nice size

Cons: I can't get this thing to do mUch despite hours of trying.
I should have quit trying to make it do anything useful before the 30 days were up, but I went on vacation for 4 weeks and worked with it ony occasionally. Instruction manual? HA HA.. found one for the 10" but nothing for the 7" Really disappointed in it.

5 out of 5 eggspower in the palm

Pros: Tegra processor, 16 gb on board, $30 less than anywhere else.
Heavy and solid, the best 7" tablet out there.

Cons: Lots of updates, took almost 40 minutes till I got to download the stuff I wanted.

Other Thoughts: Fedex left the box on my front porch, on a busy street, in the rain. I had been checking the tracking number all day, I knew they were coming. I was checking every fifteen minutes, the front door was open, there were three adults home. Now I do commend the delivery man for his serious ninja skills, even my dog didn't know he was here.

2 out of 5 eggsLiked it But.....

Pros: Great little tablet. Good with most apps. Price is very
competitive. Liked it while it lasted.

Cons: Bad design of the rubber around the screen. Should have been wraped around to the face. First drop will probably be you last.

Other Thoughts: If you buy you might want to consider the the warranty with damage coverage. If it covers drops and broken screens. The fix buy toshiba is almost as much as the thrive itself. :/

5 out of 5 eggsLOVE This Tablet!

Pros: Outstanding display; good touch screen response; comfortable to hold for long periods; feels light but not "cheap"

Cons: Camera location? (if I had to pick a con at gunpoint...)

Other Thoughts: I did a lot of research over three weeks to first decide between an e-reader and a full android tablet, then between this and a Galaxy Tab 7 Plus (I've drooled over the Samsung product since I first got to play with one 18 months ago).

But for $20 dollars more (on Newegg at least) than the Galaxy , I think it is worth it for what I feel is a better display and a more responsive touch screen.
