2 out of 5 eggsHeavy, slow and glitchy

Pros: Big screen and keyboard. Picture is good. It is still running after I did a new OS install.

Cons: This was blue screening on me as soon as I booted it on for the first time. Had to format and do a fresh OS install the first day. It is pretty slow compared to the laptops I own with the same name. This thing is heavy. Should have a lighter case. Battery life is not to be desired. Needs a better battery.

Other Thoughts: A magnesium or carbon fiber case would have helped with weight. I can't believe is was not working out of the box, need better quality control. Needs a better battery

5 out of 5 eggsEnjoyable

Pros: Very nice laptop. It runs games pretty well. I can run Diablo II with no problems. It does what it needs to and has all the ports I need. Decent gaming and easy to use for daily email etc.

Cons: There are some things that come up on start up that can be annoying, such as eco utility. It's a nice thought and is easy to just go into start up and tell it not to pop up, but if you don't know much about computers it could become annoying. That was only one of the start up programs. Otherwise, I have no bad comments about this.

5 out of 5 eggsGraet Bang 4 The Buck!!

Pros: A quad core with a dedicated video card for under $500.. Own a Survey/Engineering firm and have bought 4 of them to date. Kept one and gave the others to my guys for home and field use running Civil 3D. This set up ROCK!!! I did alot of research, and for the $ no one can touch this set up.

Cons: None.. Its properly me but the touch pad could be bigger.

Other Thoughts: For under $500 buck you cant go wrong. I'm a long term Toshiba owner and have 2 more in route.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Laptop

Pros: On NewEgg its listed as Dual Core But it is a Quad.
Runs CS:S , Magicka, Crysis 2, CS 1.6, Dirt 3, MW2 FLAWLESSLY

4 gigs is extremely fast on this laptop

Will Play Most Games Mid-High Settings with Minimal to No Lag.

Speakers are GREAT.

Not Too Heavy.

Great for a Student Gamer on a budget, who also needs it for school

A+ Webcam

Cons: When running a game like dirt 3, after like an hour and a half it starts to heat up ALOT, and causes the game to lagg
(Buying a Chill Mat Fixed this problem, Can Play ALL i want)

2x 2gig Ram. leaves no slots open so you have to take em out to upgrade.

Touch Pad is garbage.

Batterylife is worse than any other laptop i owned Appox 2hrs on power saver (Doesnt matter for me because i keep it pluged in)

Other Thoughts: Overall i would high reccomend this laptop to anyone looking for somthing for school and gaming.

4 out of 5 eggsInexpensive Upgrade

Pros: There are many good things to say about this laptop. It is amazingly fast for the price (Yes it is a quadcore). I really like the keyboard layout with the number pad off to the right. Everything seems well built and put together with quality. The screen is great and doesn't give off a whole lot of glare.

Great for gaming if you want something portable for school also. I'm not a huge gamer, but I've played Just Cause 2 on mid high and no issues or lag. CS:GO runs flawlessly on high settings.

Overall, I highly recommend this laptop to a college gamer on a budget.

Cons: A few issues have been bugging me over the past month or so.

The touchpad is "multi-gesture" but it's too sensitive. I have adjusted the sensitivity settings, but it's still just a chore to operate. The dual graphic can be a pain. When I'm gaming my game will freeze, I'll return to windows, and this pop up appears asking if I want to change it from high performance to power saving. This can also be turned off, I just haven't done that yet. Also, there was this weird issue I had once and it hasn't returned since, but it was annoying at the time. What happened is I had the laptop on battery and drained it to around 50% life, plugged it in and played a game, and around a half hour later shut off with no warning. I turned it back on and it said 0% remaining "Charging". This happened a few more times before I found the fix. What you have to do is shut down the computer, unplug all wires, take the battery out and hold down the power button for 30 seconds.

Other Thoughts: I also installed the G. Skill 8GB ram and that has not given me any issues either. I would recommend doing this upgrade for the 40 or so bucks.

4 out of 5 eggsTOSHIBA Satellite L755D-S5171

Pros: Great graphics. Actually has Duel Graphics, and a quad core processor! Can play Fallout 3 on High-Ultra Settings with minimal-no lag. Can also play Call of Duty World At War with High Settings. Can play any valve game with Max Settings. Key board has a good feel, +a Nice Webcam!

Cons: Kind of sucks that I bought this for $500 when it just dropped down to $469... The touchpad sucks... The graphics display freeses and gets fuzzy on COD:WAW when you look at water/ocean. I honestly can't think of any other cons.

Other Thoughts: This laptop can play pretty much any modern game with Medium settings (no lag). I estimate this as I can play Fallout 3 in Ultra settings with only small lag. I have tested this on most of the valve games (L4D2, HL2DM, GMOD, CSS, DODS). I have yet to test this on SKyrim. Have had this for a month and I have had no bluescreen, or strange errors of any kind. This is a dream laptop for me, as I have never owned a computer this fast, but I plan on upgrading in the future. I don't no much about graphic design (like with adobe products and such) but I guess it could probably handle some stress in that area.

1 out of 5 eggsdo not buy

Pros: works ok when new only.

Cons: This will not last.
they do not repair.
do not honor warranty!
do not buy! I don't want to see others waste their money. go for a reliable brand!
if you really want Toshiba, you must include the extra cost of a 5 yr warranty in the price.

Other Thoughts: Any reviews under a year old are meaningless.
Toshiba products don't last and they do not have real customer service. they don't repair products under warranty! I have gone several months now trying to get them to honor a warranty with no action and no concern for the customer. the first time we sent this in for repair, they changed the main board, hard drive and LED screen board, so they really did not know the real problem, the replacement parts lasted another couple months is all. Toshiba says this satisfied their warranty. that's the kind of company you are dealing with if you GAMBLE several hundred hard earned dollars and buy from Toshiba.
in other words they will get it running just enough to get you past the one year warranty - they do not repair! or replace! -let me repeat - they do not repair warranty problems!!!!!

3 out of 5 eggsIt's the little things that count

Pros: One of the best cost/benefit ratios out there currently.

Cons: It really doesn't seem to be as fast as I expected for having dedicated vid??

Other Thoughts: My own fault since I was zoning in on the speed details to much but it would be nice to have some of the simple things like back-lighted keyboard, manual volume control, manual wireless on/off switch, fingerprint reader... I wish Newegg would add some of these simple but handy items to their search criteria??

4 out of 5 eggsConcerned

Pros: Great price!

Cons: USB port is very close to the VGA port
Running minecraft at 25 FPS??

Other Thoughts: Can anyone explain why this is running Minecraft at 25 FPS?
This laptop is pooping on my old one, and yet my old one can run Minecraft at 30+ FPS. I'm confused at the moment.
