1 out of 5 eggsNewegg Fail

Pros: It's light weight

Cons: Didn't start on arrival
Power cord was broken

Other Thoughts: When I received the package it a little beat up, but not horribly bad; however, when I opened the box the packaging was awful. The side padding didn't even keep the computer tight in the box. I tired turning it on and got nothing, so naturally I tried to plug in the power cord. Unfortunately, the cord was damaged or should I say completely destroyed. After Newegg sent me a new cord, I thought everything would be okay...wrong. They sent the wrong half of the cable. So I still don't know if this works - I'm guessing not so I am RMAing it.

I really wish I had read the full disclaimer to find out that this is a non-refundable purchase. So now I have no gift for my wife for Christmas; otherwise, I would have just bought a different machine and waited for the refund credit.

2 out of 5 eggsBe careful when signing for it...

Pros: - Light
- Fast boot
- Pretty tough (see below)
- Backlit keyboard

Cons: - Packaging shockingly bad
- Laptop floating inside box
- Fragile LCD assembly

Other Thoughts: I just got it today. A word of advice - the packaging is shockingly bad. The laptop had come away from the side foam bits and was just floating around loose inside the box. It's a miracle there was no damage, just dropping the box onto concrete would have crack the case and LCD. Very, very bad, so check your shipment carefully, have ANY damage/crush marks to the box and/or loose contents noted by the delivery guy before you sign for it.

If it turns out to be OK, it will be a great little machine which is tougher than it looks....

Poor rating, but only for the packaging. The machine deserves much higher, but it would be useless if it arrived broken...

5 out of 5 eggsUltra-mobile, great for travel and every day use

Pros: Very light and therefore very mobile.
Great battery life.
Very fast - thanks for SSD drive and Core i3 CPU.
RAM upgradeable to 6GB, mSATA SSD upgradeable too.
Backlit keyboard.
Game-changer for travel - it's order of magnitude easier to take with you, and get in and out of the laptop bag.
Slim and stylish.
Inexpensive compared with other ultrabooks.

Cons: Flimsy display attachment. I am a little bit worried about whether it's too gentle to be frequently used on the road.
Cover starts showing wear marks after just one month of fairly considerate use.

Other Thoughts: Got this ultrabook for my wife, and found that I too use it more than my more powerful but less portable 15" regular notebook. This ultrabook is really easy to carry around the house or to take on the road. Highly recommend.

5 out of 5 eggsLow Price Ultrabook!

Pros: Very light weight.
SSD drive (the ultimate in speed, durability, and low power consumption).
Backlight keyboard (I'll never go back).
Very, very fast boot, resume, and wake times (Intel quick start and SSD).
Long battery life (compared to standard laptop).
Very fast recharge times.
Ports, ports and more ports.
Grey metal finish.
Layout and keyboard design is top notch (although I would rather have a centered touchpad).
Flawlessly installed and ran all of my programs and utilities without a hitch.
Excellent wifi wireless network detection and function.
The close-out/refurb price!

Cons: Slow-ish CPU spec. (wost users won't care or notice).
NO games (I already have a huge home PC for this task).
Sharp corners when opened (not a deal breaker).
Somewhat flexy shell (particularly the LCD screen).
Viewing angles are sensitive (not a deal breaker).
Toshiba did not install the touchpad driver (easily found on the support website).
Way too many 'permanent' stickers on the backside of the unit.
See other thoughts for more elaboration on Pros and Cons.

Other Thoughts: As the title suggests this is a true Ultrabook PC for a very low price. That being said, most of the cons stated above are perfectly acceptable.
As a full time student I was in need of a replacement for my 15.6 inch, 6.5 pound laptop with (standard) 1.5 hour battery life.
The SD card reader is like having a port for in internal HD.
I recommend getting some high capacity SD cards for music and media to help offset the low SSD drive size.
Many reviews will note the flexy LCD screen. I personally do not find it to be a problem and it may have directly contributed to the unit not getting damaged in shipping. I had a shipping problem with my unit that resulted in the laptop literally punching holes through the box. I was very pleased that the only damage was superficial.
I am very pleased with this item and would gladly buy another and/or recommend to a friend.
