1 out of 5 eggsAbsolute Junk, pick something other than Toshiba

Pros: makes a nice flat paperweight on the desk

Cons: Proprietary charging cable, won't charge with usb.
7 months after purchase with around 100-125 hours of actual use, won't take a charge & won't run while plugged in. Unknown if it is the machine or the cord but at $70 for a charging cable i will sell it & use the funds toward a Samsung, Asus or other quality brand. 2nd bad experience with Toshiba.

5 out of 5 eggsTOSHIBA Excite 10 AT305-T64 Tablet

Pros: I had been looking to purchase a Tablet for about a week now and after comparing a bunch of different brands and models I finally decided on this one. It's kind of funny but I was able to get this 64GIG model for a cheaper price than EITHER the 16 OR the 32GIG models. Go figure... But then again, who's complaining, not me anyway!!!

If you're REALLY considering buying a Tablet then you should REALLY give some thought to getting one with AT LEAST a Multi-Core Processor (at LEAST 4 Cores). The more Cores you get, the better AND F-A-S-T-E-R it'll be...

I was originally planning on purchasing this from NewEgg, but then I was lucky enough to find the same thing on another site for more than $100 cheaper (including the shipping AND handling)... Sorry about that NewEgg...

+ Comes with a FULL SIZE SD Card Slot (Which is great)!!!
+ Has Gorilla Glass!!! Makes scratches a thing of the past...
+ EXTREMELY thin AND lightweight!!! Less than a 1 & 3/4 pounds...
+ Comes WITH a Multi-Core Processor... Greatly needed!!!
+ Comes with 1GIG of Memory...
+ Comes with a REAR 5MP & FRONT facing 2MP Cameras...
+ LONG-LASTING Battery. I've gotten 10 Hrs plus out of it!!!
+ Comes with Wireless B, G, & N type LAN as well as Bluetooth...
+ Comes with both GPS & Digital Compass...
+ TONS AND TONS of software available for it!!!

The 4 Cores AND 1 GIG of Memory make a HUGE difference in speed!!! I'm glad I didn't get a Single Core OR a Dual-Core Tablet instead. This thing is F-A-S-T, EXTREMELY F-A-S-T!!! What with the 64GIG of on-board memory, this thing has ALL the storage space I need for it. Plus having a Standard SD Card Slot, makes it easier to find Memory Cards (of ANY size) for it as well.

THIS IS A GREAT PRODUCT!!! This was definitely one of my BETTER choices!!! Now I'm glad I didn't buy that iPad!!!

Cons: I have got to say that I'm VERY surprised (AND delighted) that I haven't had ONE PROBLEM with this Tablet as of yet. NOT ONE!!!

You did a GREAT job, TOSHIBA... Keep up the great work!!!

- NONE that I have found as of yet!!!
- Had to pay $18.00 for shipping... Bummer...
- Had to wait about 1 1/2 weeks for it to arrive...
- You'll have to do SOME searching for ANY Accessories...

One thing that you'll have to keep in mind is that you'll NEED to do SOME searching for ANY accessories you want for this Tablet. There are NOT a lot of them to be had...

This includes Protective Tablet Shields, Protective (Rubber) Skins, Leather (and/or Cloth) Carrying Cases, Power Adapters (both AC and the USB Powered type), and HDMI Adapters... One other thing to keep in mind, is that the prices On-line are generally CHEAPER than in real life...

One place that has them at a FAIRLY REASONABLE price is the Toshiba Web Site. Another is the Am**** AND the Meritline Site. Also keep in mind that SOME of the accessories for the ASUS and SAMSUNG brands do work with this Tablet as well.

So far, I have been lucky enough to find Micro-HDMI to Standard-HDMI Adapters, Micro-HDMI to Standard VGA Adapters, and EVEN Micro-USB to Standard USB Adapters (Great for USB Devices AND/OR External HD's). I also found other things like Car Windshield Holders and other holders as well. BUT be warned!!! SOME of these items MIGHT NOT work with this Tablet... You'll just have to try them for yourself.

Good luck AND have fun with it...

Other Thoughts: I would have preferred it if Toshiba had put either Mini AND/OR Standard USB AND HDMI Connectors on this Tablet, but that would have made the Tablet MUCH BIGGER AND FATTER than it is. Oh well...

As far as a wish list, that is about it. My mistake, a CHEAPER PRICE would be nice...

On a final note:

Would I buy this item for myself??? YES, I WOULD!!!

Would I recommend this item for my friends??? YES, DEFINITELY!!!

4 out of 5 eggsBad Form Newegg!

Pros: HDMI
Full Size SD
Docking port
Battery Life
Weight
Thin Form
Corning® Gorilla® Glass

Cons: Light Bleed (although this was far less of a problem than I had been led to believe by previous reviews.

Battery is not user replaceable (at least not without pulling your tablet apart and voiding the warranty)

Pre-loaded apps (useless clutter for the most part)

Other Thoughts: Bad form newegg! us.Toshiba.com lists the MSRP of the AT305-T16 as $349.99. You are selling it at the MSRP of the AT305-T32!

I got mine for $300.00 plus tax, thank you very much. If newegg had offered the tablet at least at MSRP, I would have bought from them, based on prior purchases and reputation for customer service.

I suggest you hold off on buying this tablet until neweg offers it at MSRP or lower! Or you could do like I did and get a great deal elsewhere.

-1 egg for newegg pricing!

1 out of 5 eggsBOOTLOADER LOCKED??!!!

Pros: hdmi/price/sdcard

Cons: two words.
bootloader locked

Toshiba needs to get with the proggy. Nexus barely dropped and they release their sdk already just so customers can do what they want with the items THEY bought. Toshiba on the other hand wants to control you. sorry toshiba.. not gonna buy it for that simple reason... everyone steer clear of this hot mess. get yourself a rootable non controlled/locked tablet!

Other Thoughts: stupid toshiba...good device but failed management

5 out of 5 eggsExciting

Pros: - Sturdy. (felt better in hands than it's immediate competition. Benefit is also that it has stronger front glass than the others.)
- Fast. It plays all the games I throw at it without issue, including the nvidia tegra games. Webpages are much faster than other tablets, but still not comparable to a computer.
- Display Quality. Very nice to watch videos on and browse the web and so on.
- Cameras. I think it's very silly to have a back camera on a tablet, however that being said it still takes decent quality photos. Also the front camera is nice for skype calls.

Cons: - Light bleed. Just kidding, had mine over a month and haven't had that be an issue. It's noticeably back-lit along the sides when its in a dark room playing a dark movie, yes. Is it bothersome on mine, no.

- Default Apps. In my opinion either leave it straight android or give me excellent apps. Whereas they gave me apps, and nothing really amazing included. I really like having a time / weather widget on my front page so I had to find one of those as well. Also the office app included is the lite version...

Other Thoughts: Battery life is comparable to it's competitors. It's not amazing, but could watch two videos back to back without recharging.

Overall the best bathroom accessory I have ever bought.

3 out of 5 eggsGet it on sale or pass on it

Pros: Full SD Slot
ICS w/ rumored upgrade to Jellybean
Tegra 3
Nice screen
Good speakers
Fully loaded in small package

Cons: LED light bleed problem
Freezes sometimes
No cover for SD slot

Other Thoughts: I got this tablet on a really nice sale from Newegg. Had previously bought 2 at full price, but light bleed problem was so bad I returned them. Those were from a different online retailer. Newegg ran the sale so I said what the hay and gave their stock a try. Light bleed is not so bad and I got it for almost half the price I had previously paid. Or maybe I just didn't mind the bleed because I knew what to expect and didn't so much for the lower price. If they would just fix the LED bleed problem this would be an awesome tablet. I love everything about it. You can get lucky and get one that doesn't have that bad of a bleed problem.

5 out of 5 eggsits good

Pros: -price
-SD slot
-nice build
-Tegra 3
-android 4.0

Cons: none really, widgets (stock) a little lame

Other Thoughts: for the price you get a lot bang for your buck can contend with the other tablets in its price range. Do your research but in my opinion a solid choice for the money. BTW gaming with a tegra 3 is awesome, try max payne and dark meadow

1 out of 5 eggsToshiba Excite

Pros: Nice size

Cons: Did not work well at all; unstable; kept making loud noises, could not even register the product with Toshiba.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this item reading the reviews and was very disappointed in its performance. I use computers all the time, but this was my first tablet and left me very bothered by the poor functioning.

4 out of 5 eggsLight Bleed Defect

Pros: Excellent all around. Fast, good app compatibility. Full size SDHC port. Good battery life (for the few days I had it). The display is beautiful with one exception (read cons). Feels very sleek and solid. No doubt they put alot of thought into the into the look and feel of this tablet.

Cons: These things suffer from light bleed. Mine had it on one side initially then gradually started spreading all around the edge of the display. I've read a few reviews where people return them and the replacement was fine while others had the same issue with their replacement. Hit and miss I guess. If you get one with this condition, return/exchange it asap. This is NOT NORMAL.

Other Thoughts: I returned mine and got a full refund from the local retailer. I'll stick to my Thrive till toshiba puts out a new revision of this tablet. I got my toshiba thrive last year and loved it so much, I dont mind waiting for them to nip this issue in the u know what.

3 out of 5 eggsSolid Tablet

Pros: Very fast, sturdy build. Comes with Quickoffice.

Cons: Lightbleed, App compatibility

Other Thoughts: Overall a very solid build. Aluminum backing without the wifi/BT issues that the TFP has is a nice touch. The lightbleed is absolutely horrible though, on both my tablet and my roomates tablet. Battery life is OK, about 7 hours streaming videos over my wifi connection. The Toshiba Media player makes it really easy if your not so tech saavy, but there are certainly better alternatives out there. As for Apps, I've had quite a few apps just crash on my after about 3-4 minutes running, including Documents to go, forcing me to use quickoffice which was included, but not as nice IMO. Runs shadowgun without the heat issues that many a510 owners complain about. I will be returning because of the lightbleed though, its just downright unacceptable.
