5 out of 5 eggsNeat toy!

Pros: great tablet! battery last a loooooooong time and you can switch them out! screen is gorgeous, and tegra 2 hardware works very well. runs ICS and a jellybean update is in the works. loaded up some emulators and roms, connected my xbox wireless controller adapter, and plugged it to my tv via full-size HDMI. now i have a portable super nintendo! you can control the whole tablet with the controller as well if you need to.

Cons: android. screen is not made of gorilla glass. forums are full of people who have dropped them and the screens have cracked. a bit bulky.

Other Thoughts: buy it, buy it now. don't forget a good case

1 out of 5 eggs2 for 2 bad Toshiba Thrive tablets in a row

Pros: it turned on .......

Cons: This is the replacement tablet for the broken one I got 2 weeks ago . This tablet " will not " charge the battery even with another charger . The charge indicator light will not come on t, the chrome around the back camera was missing about a dime size peeled off area some blue thing inside the screen on the bottom right and looked like it was taken apart and put together by a 4 year old by the closure edges along the sides even the cover door for the USB and HDMI took some effort to feel closed " still did not seat fully " . The Quality Assurance person should be FIRED and Rotten EGGED on the way out !!!!! BAD BUSINESS from them . I suggest New Egg to test the products " that they are helping to sell for others that have been Refurbished " first before sending them to the consumers so we don't get Rotten Eggs from incompetent company's !!!

Other Thoughts: got a $20.00 credit from New Egg for my 20 or more day wait for the 3rd tablet soon to arrive next week .... Hope I get a good one this time .

1 out of 5 eggsextreme unhappiness

Pros: it turned on at least

Cons: would not update system files after numerous tries and following manufactures directions. since operating system would not update i could not play the files i wanted. screen rotation refused to work - again i followed all directions.
speakers are awfull high pitch, unable to adjust in settings. touch screen is way too sensitive, just breathing on it would make screen respond unwantedly.

Other Thoughts: since 1999 i have owned 3 toshiba laptops! each one was perfect and never gave me trouble. that is why i bought this toshiba product. this thrive tablet was a miserable toshiba experience!

1 out of 5 eggsCracked and broken rotten EGG

Pros: Got here on time is the only good part.................

Cons: Arrived with a hole in the outer box , inner box was not damaged at all . My Toshiba Thrive on the other hand ... The screen was cracked and would not power up at all >:( . This is the first time I have had a bad EGG for almost 4 years of having a lot of sunny side up eggs with New Egg . Better packaging might have saved this Humpty Dumpty . Now I have to wait about 10 days to get a replacement when it took only 3 days to get this one GRRRRRR !!!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat tab, some initial probs

Pros: Clean, crisp screen, good design, grip feels good, full ports and good storage (I bought the 32GB version). Upgraded easily to ICS. This tablet allows you do DO stuff as well as consume stuff. No real complaints; I generally love Toshiba products. They are well-designed and last a long time (I have a two-year old 13.1" Portege laptop and I still love it as much as the day I bought it)

Cons: About as heavy as said laptop I mentioned above! But I don't really mind that given the other perks (ports). My only real complaints are not Toshiba's fault... many apps are not yet optimized for tablets so it just feels like a big smartphone. The biggest thing is that I bought it primarily for PDF reading and annotation, but read-only PDFs (say from JSTOR or other electronic databases I use to access scholarly articles) cannot be annotated by any of the popular PDF annotation apps out there. That is a real bummer, but I'm hopeful a solution will come with future updates.

Other Thoughts: The camera wasn't working when I got it, but that's no fault of Newegg's. Sending it in for factory repairs, and so far that process has been smooth.

5 out of 5 eggsWorking Great!

Pros: I really like the speed and use of the file manager. Screen came in great condition, came with charger and Micro USB to transfer with. Shipped a day BEFORE expected. Lots of ports for anything you'll need.

Cons: Speaker doesn't play very well on SUPER high volume. Tis to be expected. The front facing camera is not very high quality and I have no use for the back facing one. However those are just personal preferences.

Other Thoughts: If I have any trouble I'll come back and let you know. Until then assume it's going good.

3 out of 5 eggsWhy Send it out??

Pros: I Bought this for Ports, it has them all...

Cons: This one refused to connect to wi-fi, which makes this a paper weight.

Other Thoughts: We will see what the response is, why bother to send out an item that does not work out of the box, is is a bother to me and them, and additional shipping costs... I hope the additional shipping costs do not add up to what the new one would have cost.

5 out of 5 eggsHighly pleased with this tablet

Pros: Enough ports for whatever I need to do, and they're full-size! I can plug in an external SSD (powered only by the Thrive) and put my full movie and audio collection on it for trips, USB flash drives for smaller storage needs, and to add to a previous review, full-size SDXC flash cards work to at least 128 GB as reported on the Thrive forums, and I myself have a TEAM 64 GB card (bought here) that works flawlessly in it. There are a few limitations with the file system, all due to Honeycomb itself, but the ICS update in a couple months will address most of this. The touch screen is very responsive for games.

Cons: The speakers are not that great, as with most tablets I've listened to, but through headphones it's as good as my PC setup (albeit only stereo). Battery life isn't that great but it charges in about 1-1/2 hours from nearly empty. I bought a spare battery, which you can find numerous places online for about $25.00, for the times when I might not be at an AC outlet. It only charges from the brick though, not through USB.

Other Thoughts: Toshiba accessories for this are way overpriced and not so functional (cases, stands, etc) as 3rd party offerings, although no one else makes a stand with a charging dock. The view angle is fixed on Toshiba's dock.

4 out of 5 eggsThrive is a great Tablet in general. Love the replaceable battery!

Pros: Only tablet that I know of with a user replaceable battery. I *love* the full size ports. The Thrive has done everything I have wanted it to do and has done it well. Hooks up to wi-fi easily, streams Netflix easily, etc... Screen is lovely.

Cons: The refurbished one I bought (not from New Egg) would not upgrade the system software and a had to root the darn thing and flash it with a stock ROM to be able to update it! Whew! That was almost beyond my low-tech powers! I think Toshiba eventually fixed this issue. Works great updating now. Only other con is that it's a little too heavy to hold upright in your hand for any length of time, but that's what full size ports and user-replaceable batter are going to get you. I find I use my Kindle Fire more for reading books, but the Thrive is a decent laptop replacement for traveling.

Other Thoughts: The main reason I held out on getting a tablet was the thought that if I use it every day, how long will the battery last? I tend to keep my gadgets for as long as possible and really liked the idea of being able to keep this one going with replaceable batteries. Additionally, Toshiba has said that they will push an update for Android 4.0 by the end of Summer 2012, just waiting for that to happen!

5 out of 5 eggsWorking great with no problems

Pros: PORTS! Has an actual USB port on it. Accepts regular SD cards up to 32gb. Nice vibrant screen. Removeable/replaceable battery. Seems to be a good sturdy tablet. This is made for usefullness and to last longer than 6 months. What a tablet SHOULD be.

Cons: I bought it but barely get my hands on it.... :-/

Other Thoughts: My 4-year-old hasn't broken it yet! haha!
Careful with cases and such, it's about an inch taller (portrait mode) / wider (landscape mode) than an ipad or most other models out there. Make sure you get something specific to this model tablet.
