5 out of 5 eggsBought January of 2013

Pros: -Great battery life, battery still lasts about as much as first day I bought it nearly 3 years ago.
-Good quality laptop when compared to other laptops (I own 4 laptops and 2 desktops, the Dell laptops had the worst quality, my Toshiba ones last the longest without severely breaking screen hinges or impaired battery),
-Doesn't get BURNING hot like some other laptops
-Can run windows 10 64-bit, memory upgraded to 8gb easily.
-Can run Serato DJ without a glitch.
-USB 3.0 is quite fast at around 90 MBps
-Wireless internet very stable, no connection drops
-Win 8 sucks but I will leave it as a pro as it is better than Win10 (Win-10 used to be ok initially but it is starting to get slow and glitchy after only a few weeks)

-Can run quite a few games in decent settings

Here is the list
Age of empires 3 in best graphical details, Assasins Creed(1st version) in medium-low settings. Can run Amnesia in good settings. Can run Defense Grid 2 in just about max settings. Can run GTA San Andreas in full settings. Can run Guild Wars 2 on lower settings. Can run Fallout 3 in medium settings. Can run minecraft on high, can run Oblivion 4 on max (that's the version right before skyrim), can run Path of Exile on max thou it can take forever for initial load. Can run Robocraft on decent settings, Can run Sid Meyers railroads on high, can run Red Alert 3 on high, can run Star Conflict(free space game on steam fyi) on high, can run Oddworlds Strangers wrath on decent settings, Can run Super Hot on high, Can run Tibia (very fun 2D MMO game), can run Torchlight 2 on high if I remember correctly, can run The Sims 4 on high I believe.

Cons: -Not the best looking laptop, it's a budget laptop so that's not a con in my book. It may look thick and kind of ugly but it won't let you down despite it's age.
-Screws in the screen and the bottom of laptop started coming undone from vibrations within months, a reoccurring problem no matter how tight you make them, have to use lock-tight on the screws (it's like a mild glue for screws).
-plastic slits for venting air have cracked a bit from not handling the laptop with care.
-power cable connection can damage somewhat easily and become a little wobbly, it's been that way for 3 years and never given me any problems or disconnects.

Other Thoughts: Bought this at a diff store as I was in a big hurry or I would have used Newegg. It's an old laptop but if Newegg brings it back for under $150 it's a steal for a laptop that you can use for everything you may need with a fairly large screen.

Don't forget to use an antivirus. (avast antivirus free version and Spybot search and destroy free version for constant web browsing protection if you use the immunization setting, those two together work the best)

In my entire time using this laptop from school, to work to gaming it never had any critical problems, no bugs, and no slowdowns. Then I installed Win 10 and it started becoming slow with internet explorer, however chrome browser still works fast once deleted and reinstalled.

1 out of 5 eggsStay away from Toshiba

Pros: Light and great battery power.

Cons: The computer would not charge when first received. After sending it back to Newegg for repair that took 2 weeks, it became extremely slow and unresponsive within the week. During return to factory settings process, it stopped half way through and now the PC wouldn't do anything except stay in the windows menu. I ended up talking to the toshiba customer service people for about 5 hours on the phone just to hear "oh it's most likely an antivirus issue, just ship this to us and we'll repair it for you. Also, you'll have to pay for shipping". So basically the company is saying that we are going to sell you a piece of &@*$ that doesn't work and you'll have to pay us to fix it for you. Stay away from these people. Their product sucks and so does their customer support.

5 out of 5 eggsNice laptop

Pros: I like the textured surface inside, my tech who will be using this likes it too.
Plenty fast for 90% of anything anyone will do with it.
Long battery life, 5 hours was observed while using a flash intensive application and skype.
Good wifi range, my own laptop had 20% less signal at the same range.
This one had a single 4GB memory stick, so adding another for less than 20 bucks before I even used it was a no brainer.

Cons: Still with the junkware on new laptops, all of them have it though.
The mouse pad is textured also, not sure why as it is picking up dirt and grease, and it seems overly sensitive.

Other Thoughts: Nice laptop for the buck, new Trinity cores run really cool, OCCT at stock run 60C under full load for hours even when using the GPU too.

I'm sure it will be good at gaming also.
