5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Netbook

Pros: -Processor N570 (1.66GHz) dual-core with hyper-threading, in total the mobo recognized 4 processor (1.66GHz) working at same time.

-Factory 1GB DDR3 1333 MHz, I upgraded to 2GB 1333Mhz and works perfectly, is very easy.

-Battery life around 6-7 hours, is a very decent time for a netbook (6-cell).

-WebCam 1.3 MP

-Nice Keyboard

Cons: None for the price is more that i excepected, i'm very pleased with this purchase

1 out of 5 eggslaura

Pros: size and size of keyboard

Cons: runs very hot, freezes, problems with Internet Explorer, type letters and get numbers and symbols. Problems right out of the box.

Other Thoughts: Should have exchanged it for a different notebook immediately. Put up with its quirks for 3 months, now it's too late to return. Acer customer service is very poor. Sent it back today, will see what happens. Will never buy another Acer product.

3 out of 5 eggsIt is good but it could be much better!!

Pros: I like the Webcam very much!! The quality is great!! It is probably because of the 1.3 megapixes.
I also like the small size of the AC Adapter and the fact it is a Wall AC Adapter so it placed on the floor.

Cons: It gets a little bit hot which is not a problem for me but this is not something that I would expect from a Atom Processor.
The video board is only 8 megas according to the BIOS and it is not possible to increase the size. (For me this is very unusual!! Usually Video memory can be set in the BIOS by the user)
It is very hard to upgrade the memory because you need to do this by removing the keyboard. (I don't know why make it so complicated to upgrade RAM)
Windows 7 with only 1Gb of RAM makes the system very, very slow!! After I upgraded to 2Gb of RAM, the performance improved a lot, but it is still a bit slow. I will try to install Windows XP and see how much better the performace should be. I will first try Windows XP with only 1Gb or RAM. I really prefer Windows XP but I didn't want to go through all the trouble of doing an install, but I believe for these Atom Processor there is no way. Even with Dual Core Atom Processor.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Little Computer

Pros: Okay, when I bought this little bugger I had some concerns. Among them were the size and comfort of the keyboard and track pad, as well as the ability of the computer to multitask. My concern was unwarranted. The keyboard is very well designed. The mousepad is as big as the one on my full size notebook. It has no trouble playing videos, browsing the internet (6+ tabs, word documents, powerpoint slides open), and even playing games. That's right. I said it. It handles old games surprisingly well. At $229, this was an incredible buy.

Cons: The only con I can think of is that the hard drive is on the bottom of the computer and so it gets quite hot. This can be quite uncomfortable when you have it on your lap. This didn't bother me much, and wasn't worth taking away an egg.

2 out of 5 eggsAOD255E-1643

Pros: Cheapest netbook out there with a N570 processor. Looks sleek. N570 dual core is pretty fast.

Cons: OVER HEATING. Remember, The N570 max temp is 72C, and if you ever see temps above this, you better send it back. I had to RMA this netbook because of this. Battery life is more like 6 hours which isn’t bad but I hate when they state specs higher than they truly are. 1 GB of memory is pretty weak now days plus no 2GB module seems compatible with this Acer netbook. I’m overall disappointed Acer.

Other Thoughts: The AOD255E-1482 exactly the same as this one. Wouldn't recommend it even with its low price

4 out of 5 eggsSlim, light, good looking netbook @ attractive price when on sale

Pros: Slim & light, small in size but keyboard is in nice size for easy typing, it's plastic body looks and feel solid and elegant. Got all the hardware of most netbooks should had. It's dual core.

Cons: Upgrade the memory to 2 GB but found NO removal slot door. Audio too low, it only had mono speaker.

Other Thoughts: I always want to own a netbook since eee pc roll out in 2007. Because of the spec and price make me wait till now to own the first netbook. Eee pc was my first choice, since Acer came out with better spec and price then I stop here. This netbook looks more professional machine than toy. It support up to 2GB of RAM but no removal slot door. Little more powerful stereo speaker would add value to it. Over all it's getting 3 eggs plus superior service from newegg to make 4 totally.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent Product, Bad Support

Pros: Cheap
5Hr Battery Life playing video at full brightness

Cons: Slow HD (7200rpm would be better)
Bad Support: Cannot find detailed specs or support on ACER or Newegg. Bought 2 different speeds and sizes of RAM chips but neither works. Comes with 1x10600 1GB Kingston chip. Newegg claims upgradable to 2GB with PC3-8500. I give up.

Other Thoughts: If I could do it all over again I would get a newer HP or ASUS with 12-13 hr battery life and 4GB memory capable.

5 out of 5 eggsDuel Core amazing price

Pros: * Duel Core
* great price
* 6 hour battery life
* sturdy construction
* DDR3
* 250GB HDD

Cons: * can't think of any

Other Thoughts: If you are really interested, you can find online instruction on how to take apart this netbook and upgrade the RAM to 2GB. This prob voids the warranty, but if you are a DIY guy this is a cheep way to install more RAM.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: light, doesn't feel cheap.
ran a HD video fine which my old netbook wouldn't do

Cons: I like the old mouse button on my nb205 netbook, probably just need to get used to these though

full of bloatware, spent about 2 hours removing it, guess that is expected with a computer you don't build yourself. I hope this preloaded #$%^ helps bring the cost of pc down.

battery life is about the same as my somewhat tired over year old toshiba NB205, this one is more powerful so I guess it is a compromise

5 out of 5 eggsWell worth the price

Pros: With windows, it like all others performs awful. This is just windows and reflects on the product negatively when the product is solid choice.

Linux Ubuntu Natty 11.04 x64 setup as a ultimate edition build. Tested out as 255 mb of ram in use at boot. So 1 GB is more then enough. 6.5 hours run time with 30% screen brightness used in conjunction with powertop & Pm-utils. This proved to be flawless choice for this netbook as with any netbook. Remember there is utterly nothing Linux cant do that windows can do these days. Never stress viruses or rot again. Never need maintenance ever again.

Cons: Could have used a 8 hour battery

Other Thoughts: Like I said.

Windows is a pore choice for this netbook, do your self a favor and move to Linux.

You can find more info on Linux

type in ultimate edition oz or ultimate edition in google search.
