1 out of 5 eggsPoor Support

Pros: Android

Cons: Unit failed a few times during warranty and either I or ACER was able to get it going. It is now 1.5 yrs old and now I suspect the eMMC controller is bad (most fail) ACER suspected a software glitch and requested $99 for support and stated it would be refunded if it was not. It determined that phone support was not a good option and to take it to a local technician. When I requested a refund for they said no and I had to place it in dispute with AMX

Other Thoughts: ACER=bad customer service

5 out of 5 eggsGood gift

Pros: - Good price range if you prefer this screensize for whatever reason
- Good display
- The duo-core CPU allows most if not all graphic content to play seamlessly

Cons: - Weight and thickness. I expected a lot less but thankfully the small form factor made it manageable.
- Battery life could be better, no real complaint, though.

Other Thoughts: I don't exactly own this device; It was bought as a gift. The ratings are based on what I could gather from the recipient.

2 out of 5 eggsVery Nice Tablet but Customer Support is no good.

Pros: It has the Tegra 2 processor (Dual Core ARM Cortex A9) which is plenty good for me and it also has a 7" screen exactly what i needed nothing too big or small. It looks to be solid.(for a while)

Cons: Where to start, I got a defective unit that had about 5 dead or misfiring pixels I called Acer they promptly told me to send it in for a repair, so all is good there, now when i finally got it back all that was done was an upgrade of Android from 3.2 to 3.2.1 and the dead pixels were still there and to add to that the tech that unboxed my unit scratched the back of the tablet with the knife and left about a 3" gash that is about .5" deep. I don't know if I will be buying Acer again but Im leaning towards the NEVER AGAIN side.

Other Thoughts: Could have been the best Christmas present for myself(as it was intended in the beginning) but Acer Customer Support Fails.

5 out of 5 eggsWife loves her Christmas Gift!

Pros: She was astounded when she booted the tablet up and it instantly synced with her phone information (thanks to google backup, etc). She wanted this instead of a "e-reader" because they were the same price but limited functionality.
She reads books on this tablet just fine.

Battery life is adequate. I bought this knowing it wouldn't be amazing, but it's not quite as bad as some reviews make it out to be.

Cons: it doesn't cook for her.

Other Thoughts: I'm not sure why anyone would buy a Nook or other "book reading" tablet when you can do that and so much more on something like this.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Budget Tablet

Pros: -Good sturdy feel
-Very fast processor and WiFi function, handles all apps like a dream
-Android Honeycomb OS is great, has built-in memory management so no need to close running apps, you never feel any lag
-Built-in Google Voice commands are amazingly simple to learn and are very useful

Cons: -Not a great variety of cases made specifically for this tablet, important considering placement of rear-facing camera

Other Thoughts: As an introductory tablet the Acer Iconia Tab is really great, it is well built and has all the standard functions that any tablet should have.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Tablet

Pros: Excellent screen resolution, powerful, full market access, HDMI out, handles streaming netflix video with ease, games are smooth no hesitation. Very little bloat ware. Bluetooth connects with ease to desk top and LG phone. HDMI out connects instantly to my Sharp Aquas LCD with good quality. No freeze up to report after 2 weeks of daily use.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Battery life seems good. I have not had any wifi problems as others have reported. I have a Uverse router. I paid $189 on black Friday online from another big box Co. Would have bought it on Newegg if the price was closer. I was going for a Kindle Fire but didn't want to be sold something every time I turned it on. The A100 has better specs.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Tablet with one caveat...

Pros: 1) Android Honeycomb 3.2 OS.
2) Very little Bloatware pre-installed.
3) Reasonable Price.
4) mini-HDMI output.

Cons: There is a known issue with the WiFi on the A100 and A500 tablets.

WiFi connections that are DHCP provided will drop sporadically. As of my review, there is no patch from Acer, but there is a work around...

If you set the WiFi to a static IP address, the WiFi connection will not drop. This will require you to know what IP address will be assigned or has been assigned. (i.e.: your home WiFi network)

When the WiFi drops, reacquiring the connection is just a matter of opening the WiFi settings and reconnecting.

Other Thoughts: It is a good "starter" tablet for just lounging at home browsing the Internet/Apps while watching TV, etc...

While the WiFi Issue may be a deal-breaker for some, the issue is known to exist on both the A100s and the A500s; I would imaging a patch/update from Acer may be right around the corner.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Value

Pros: Just got this tablet delivered to me. Acer doesn't use deceptive marketing tactics like so many companies do. They honestly state the screen does 262,000 colors. Honeycomb boots up considerably faster than Gingerbread on a Nexus S 4G phone.

Cons: Honeycomb does have some notable limitations. There's no easy way to activate silent mode like in Gingerbread on a phone. I don't want this tablet to be making noise while I'm at work for example. At least it boots up much quicker than my Nexus S 4G phone does. The new Marketplace is apparently available only for phones and not tablets. There's no setting to enable auto updating by default for all apps. I also had this app reboot on me while downloading apps from the Marketplace. Google has already fixed the random reboot bug in Gingerbread 2.3.7. Strange that it's not fixed in Honeycomb. 3rd party widgets are difficult to use. I installed Beautiful Widgets wbut they didn't show up in the Widgets menu. I had to go into the app drawer and tap the Beautiful Widgets icon to activate the widgets. Newly installed widgets show up in Gingerbread right away.
