1 out of 5 eggsAcer ripped us off

Pros: while it was functioning it was an almost DECENT gaming laptop.

Cons: - This is a dual graphics card computer. The Radeon 6650G is horrible quality and stopped functioning for many people, (not just me). The reason for this is because ACER gives you two different types of graphics cards. One integrated one dedicated and they conflict with each other and will cause blue screens later on.

Other Thoughts: I am extremely upset that this issue has not been brought to light. However you can go google "Acer 7750g blue screens"

"acer 7750g graphics card problem" and you will get a ton of people who have purchased this $900 piece of junk. The whole point of this Laptop is a nice mobile gaming PC. However ACER does NOT give you quality hardware and it will likely only last you around a year (When the warranty is done.)

Do whatever you can to make this issue known.

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Love this laptop. Fast smooth and reliable. The GPU and CPU on this laptop are awesome. Ive play alot of modern games on it and it runs them smoothly and fast. Everything is nice is a little big but light and thin for its size. Overall i love this laptop.

Cons: The only issues i have with it is sometimes the wireless is messed up and the outer shell seems a little flimsy.

5 out of 5 eggsASPIRE works great!!

Pros: Radeon HD 6650M 2gb works like a charm for everything I do with it. Autodesk, Inventer, soildworks works great without errors.

The Sandy bridge i7 works great also

The whole computer runs very cool, with a cooling pad the computer doesn't run the main while web browsing.

17" Screen is nice and large to stare at for hours , and is also blindingly bright in dark rooms! no need for a night light!

Size is relativity small for a computer with this much power.

Runs games without a hitch, Dead space two on ultra is pretty awesome.

Reliable no faults in 8 months of ownership.

Cons: Keyboard is a little flat to type on, I Got used to it now other than that is a good keyboard.

Windows7 bloat ware, Just keep the fancy 3d desktop stuff down and windows wont fail you(I'm not a fan of any windows computer). Had some system backup disks needing to be created, takes about 2 hours.

Power button size and location, no big deal, just i hate using the esc key in autocad. becuase I find the power button instead :P

Other Thoughts: Great computer, was thinking of getting an asus before, but i opted to an acer. The price is right, the size and reliability. WOW i am impressed. The expensive asus computers had more problems in my class than my cheaper acer did. LOL I snickered in class that day!

1 out of 5 eggsToo Many Little Issues

Pros: Runs okay, but nowhere near enough to make up for it's flaws

Cons: My too biggest issues:
1) the keyboard awful. You have to pound the keys with your fingers for them to work and half the time they don't. Keys randomly lock to the point where you have mashed them down to get the unlock.
2) the monitor is high, high gloss. It has horrible blacks/darks that reflect you're image making it very difficult to see anything on it. Horrible viewable angle. If you're not looking directly at it *of a particularly line* you won't see anything right, meaning most of what you see has a haze.

Other Thoughts: Not worth the money. Find something else. It's the power or the reliability that makes this machine bad, it's the overall external structure. The same base components with a better body, it would be perfect. I wish I'd gone a different direction.

4 out of 5 eggsYes, the graphics ARE switchable!

Pros: While it is not possible to disable the i7's graphics, it IS possible to disable the Radeon's graphics. Why do this, you ask? See comments in the "Other thoughts" section.

Cons: After owning for 2 months, it is running about 10 degrees C hotter. I suspect the filter may be getting dirty.

Other Thoughts: If you run the benchmark 3DMark11 with the system as is, it will report the i7's graphics only. It then runs the benchmark and gives the results (not great). If you disable the Radeon graphics, 3DMark11 refuses to run at all, claiming the system does not support DirectX11. Clearly, anything that uses DirectX 11 requires the Radeon graphics, even though it won't list it when it checks the system.

4 out of 5 eggsMisnomer - no integrated graphics

Pros: All Core i7's will have "integrated graphics" because it's built into the i7 itself. I have found no way to disable it.

Also, IGNORE the RAM speed spec of 1066. It uses 1333. If you do upgrade the RAM, it may be necessary to remove the existing 2GB stick to ensure compatibility.

Cons: While the dedicated graphics are better than that built into the i7, they're nothing to brag about. They're adequate for most purposes, but this is not designed to be a game machine. Don't get me wrong, it'll play just about anything, but don't expect more than 60 FPS on anything.

Other Thoughts: It is necessary to be gentle with the display. There were times when I accidentally bumped it slightly, and the screen went black. Closing the laptop and reopening it has, so far, been able to recover from it.

3 out of 5 eggsGraphics IS NOT switchable (yet I suppose as of 9/29/2011)

Pros: Fast second generation i7 core
6 GBs of RAM which I upgraded to 16 while I had the laptop (there are 4 RAM slots)
Has an extra HD slot but would need a different cover on the bottom to make it fit
17" laptop big screen
Looks sleek
Has an Intel HD Family onboard graphics card which is good for low-end games and general use
IS equipped with a 2 GB ATI Radeon HD 6650M graphics card

Cons: There is NO WAY to switch to the ATI Radeon graphics card (yes people have said you could but they don't know shiat)
Here is what I went through:
Tried reinstalling the driver from Acer's website but it doesn't work
I tried modding the driver to get it to work but it doesn't work
I tried updating my BIOS but to no avail
Googled a couple hours of junk to find nothing about this graphics card
Called Acer they told me to try to redownload the driver
It obviously didn't work because the graphics wasn't switchable when I got it out of the box nor was it switchable when I reinstalled the driver
Called Acer back (a different person this time) and they said that it is third party piece of hardware and that they do not equip laptops with other graphics cards other than onboard
Okay? Then why do they have the driver for the graphics card on their site? *facepalm
So they told me to call back the retailer (newegg) and ask about a driver
Well newegg doesn't provide drivers *double facep

Other Thoughts: (continuing my Cons rant)
I call back Acer telling them that newegg does not provide drivers and then they tell me to call AMD for a driver *triple facepalm
I call AMD and they tell me that I have to call back Acer for a driver because AMD does not have drivers for the ATI Radeon 6650M
After spending a week on it, I get my RMA number and return that frustrating hunk of plastic

No offense but Acer needs better customer service I found it very unpleasant to talk to one of those people because they obviously didn't know anything

Other than the nonswitchable graphics, the laptop's nice.
