2 out of 5 eggsTroublesome laptop. Support even worse.......

Pros: Decent amount of RAM (4GB)
Roomy hard drive
Decent video performance

Cons: Faulty Wi-Fi card.
Sub-par support from Acer.

Other Thoughts: Hard drive failed within the first 30 days. Acer support replaced it promptly. The Wi-Fi would continuously disconnect from our router, so I bought a new router and still the same issue. Contacted support on 3 separate occasions and they blamed it on everything but the Wi-Fi card and refused to replace even after I jumped through all their hoops. Found another Broadcom Wi-Fi card online and swapped it myself and AMAZINGLY it works fine now.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Netbook

Pros: Pretty fast dual core with turbo technology
Neat function keys
Battery is great
and 4GB memory

Cons: The keyboard isn't a full keyboard so people who aren't used to a smaller keyboard might feel uncomfortable.

The buttons are a bit flimsy, but I can't complain you get what you paid for

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible. Wish I never bought.

Pros: Light, compact and portable.

Cons: This is the worst experience I've ever had with a computer. I'm not sure if I've just gotten a defective product, but before 6 months was up, it stopped booting up. I sent it in for repair, got it back.

Within 2 weeks it stopped booting up again; the exact same error as the first time. I've gotten it back the second time, and within 2 weeks, once again, it has stopped booting and is giving me the same error.

I wish I'd never bought the thing. It is the most unreliable computer I've ever had the displeasure of using. When I spend ~$450 on a computer and warranty, I expect it to work for a couple of years, minimum. I don't expect it to work for less than 6 months and then repeatedly break down with light and careful use.

5 out of 5 eggsHappy

Pros: I thought it may be a little slugish with just 1 GB CPU....I am happy I was wrong about that idea. Removing the junk software that others have mentioned speeds this netbook greatly. Also the dual core helps as well. Bought this as a light weight, easy to carry solution for my daughters school computer.

Cons: None yet..............

Wish it had a DVD drive, but none of the netbooks have them.

Other Thoughts: If your looking for a budget netbook that is compact, light weight and zippy............this is it.

Cons: none

4 out of 5 eggsNice netbook, but gaming regrets

Pros: 1. Full sized keys
2. hardware accelerated video
3. easy access to RAM and HDD

Cons: 1. gaming potential was not as good as I was hoping
1. bloatware

Other Thoughts: I had reasonable hopes for basic gaming graphic potential of the APU, but it dissapointed. I was expecting something better than the 4 year old integrated HD3200 in my desktop, but it doesn't even come close to that. Maybe it's the cpu that's holding it back, but it could barely run minecraft. 3dmark06 score was around 1000.

Replaced the hard drive with a 120 GB SSD. One screw to remove the bottom cover, and then two more holding the drive in. Easy peasy.

1 out of 5 eggsUpdate on "School Laptop" Broken Screen

Pros: This laptop was amazing (for my sister's schooling).
One trip, we put it in a bag and traveled with it. (It usually sits at home like a desktop)

Cons: The Screen cracked when we removed it from the bag.

We disregarded the advice of the other reviewer, and now I have to replace the screen myself (Acer warrenty is really sadface) which sucks.

My Asus netbook is invincible, It has been thrown in and out of backpacks amongst the books, with no padding. Been fine for 2 years...

Shame this isn't.

Other Thoughts: Perhaps the ugly ripple on the back of the screen is less strong than a solid, flat surface.

5 out of 5 eggsSupports Linux

Pros: Duel Boots windows 7 and fedora 15 nicely.

Cons: Mouse buttons are lower quality then a desktop replacement laptop but this is expected in all net-books.

Typical bloatware is pre-installed but again this is to be expected.

Other Thoughts: Windows 7 is used for flash video since it has hardware acceleration.

Linux is my coding environment. Only downside is flash is still cpu bound. Multi-touch is better in Linux as you can right click without using the physical mouse buttons.

Nice to have an external usb dvd burner to make your backup installation disks for windows and install Linux. If you don't have one I recommend getting one with this net-book.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Little Netbook

Pros: Great netbook, small, light, nice screen, decent battery life, faster than I thought it would be.. Large hard drive, 4gig ram, 64 bit full version of windows!!!

Cons: Really only thing is all the bloat ware that comes loaded on, and the lack of blue tooth...

Other Thoughts: Got this for the GF for Christmas, she loves it! Its small the keyboard is large and easy to type on even for me, once I cleaned all the bloat ware off it runs fast. Would like to do a clean install tho. Blue tooth would be nice for a wireless mouse, track pad is good, I like the gestures and multi touch. Screen is nice and bright and sharp, pages fit good. Over all awesome got it for 309$ on newegg with some coupons, def worth it!!!!

5 out of 5 eggsNetbook for School Usage

Pros: Great style/design
Full size keyboard is much easier to type on compared to other netbooks
Very quick for a netbook
Small enough to carry
Long battery life
Screen resolution larger than the average netbook, allows many more programs that were too big to use before
Tap features and scroll bar on the mousepad are useful

Cons: As a personal choice, the aesthetics of the ripple design on the lid are debated. I like it and think it adds character to the netbook, but others think it's ugly.

Other Thoughts: Of course, Windows 7 is disappointing, though this is no fault of Acer or its products.
