1 out of 5 eggsWorked Great for 3 months

Pros: I bought this for my wife and she simply loved it right up until the touchscreen went buggy and made it impossible to use.

Cons: The touchscreen went buggy and rebooting and restoring to factory setting still doesn't fix it. I am still searching for a way to fix it, but there is little help available.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect.. Exactly what i was looking for

Pros: Updates to Ice Cream Sandwich, Capacitive touch, The size of this device is perfect. replaced a Nook color, I installed the Nook APP from GOOGLE PLAY and still have all my books. This Device looks brand new to me, and has Gorrila Glass, no screen protector required. I cant say enough about this device, simply Love it!

Cons: Charger is unique, looks similar to a head phone plug. Will not charge through the Micro USB port like a cell phone does.

Other Thoughts: I have had a few devices and this one just fits perfectly anywhere i need it. tethered to my phone for those long car trips, or on break at work.

4 out of 5 eggsSwanky little device - update

Pros: A few days after I posted my previous review, my wife's unit was able to upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich. It is all good!

4 out of 5 eggsSwanky little device

Pros: Got the 1st one for my wife's after her netbook died. She took to the 'swanky' device right away. She loves its size & features. I am so impressed with it that I got another one for me. Mine upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich without a hitch. Sweet!

Cons: The range of the wifi could be better.

Other Thoughts: As noted in earlier reviews, my wife's device came pre-registered and won't upgrade beyond Honeycomb. Luckily, she is perfectly happy with the older OS.

5 out of 5 eggsSuper

Pros: This little thing is just fabulous. It is very good in functionality, especially that I was able to upgade 'em to ice cream sandwich. It just made it even sweeter. Enjoying it so far... Pandora, You tube, Tune in, and lots of other game apps... thank you.

Cons: none at present, if ever there is... put the price in consideration...

2 out of 5 eggsThis is no deal !

Pros: This is not a bad tablet, but not a good deal.

Cons: When I ordered mine it was listed as factory refurbished. When I tried to register it with Acer they told me it was already registered to a third party company and I had to get any support from them.

Other Thoughts: If you want a refurb you can buy one cheaper from the Acer store on a popular auction site with the letter E and it should be supported by Acer as opposed to some third party company. Had I known what I know now I would've bought a new one directly from Acer for $249 w/ free shipping. After you pay the $39 for the extended warranty for the refurb you've saved all of ten bucks. Hardly worth dealing with this nonsense.

3 out of 5 eggsSeriously?!

Pros: Nice hardware.
good size.

Cons: Okay... first off, this is a replacement unit (first one had a power management problem) and while my first unit upgraded to ICS flawlessly, this replacement unit refuses to upgrade past 3.2.1 Apparently, Acer also refuses to support any refurbished units directly. Tech support basically says that they won't do anything and we're supposed to deal with whomever sold it to us. However, NewEgg indicates that we need to deal with Acer... not cool.

Anyway, it sort of works but appears locked at android 3.2.1. If you are buying this device for the ICS upgrade (like I did), steer clear.

3 out of 5 eggsOK but has some flaws

Pros: very portable, dual cameras, inexpensive, nice screen, automatically updated to Android 4.0

Cons: Decent tablet marred by performance problems and lack of critical features.

Performance problems are short battery life and poor wi-fi connectivity. Battery life is only 4 to 5 hours. I have no objective measurements of other tablets for comparison, but it also seems very poor at picking up wi-fi.

short battery life, weak wi-fi, no 3G, no USB charging capability

The other problems are partly my problem due to inexperience with tablets. First, the tablet lacks any sort of connectivity except for wi-fi. I guess I didnt know how much I would miss this feature. The portability is nice, but when you are in a car or somewhere without wi-fi, the tablet is almost worthless. And if you want to use it as a GPS you have to buy a standalone program which stores the maps locally.
The other feature that I found very frustrating was lack of usb charging capability. The charger has a plug much like a smaller version of a laptop charger. This is OK for

Other Thoughts: The other frustrating features are lack of 3G connectivity and inability to charge via USB. Lack of 3G makes use away from home very problematic. I knew of this issue when I bought the tablet, but didnt know how much I would miss it. This makes google maps not usable on the go and requires a separate program to be purchased for GPS. I know you could purchase one of the mobile hotspot devices, but who wants to purchase and carry around another device.

Other frustration is lack of ability to charge via USB. The charger is a small version of a laptop charger. This works fine at home with the supplied wall charger, but makes it almost impossible to find a car charger, and Acer doesnt seem to offer one.

Disclaimer: I purchased the tablet at a local Big Box store, not NewEgg, but just wanted to give my opinion to possible purchasers.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than iPad

Pros: It does everything well and fits in my pockets. We recently got an iPad, which my kids took to play games, so I got this one so I'd have my own tablet. Now my kids have been fighting over this one. The best thing about tablets is that they are great for games. The iPad is great but there are a lot more FREE games for Android.

Cons: Battery life is not long enough: about 5 ~ 6 hours of use unplugged.

Other Thoughts: This tablet compares to the iPad as follows:
1. Fits in my pockets: A100 fits in coat pockets, pants pocket, cargo pants pockets, iPad -- No -- won't fit anywhere.
2. Browsing the web: about the same, but A100 feels a little faster than iPad, maybe problem is Safari.
3. Cameras: about the same
4. Apps: Android has more FREE stuff, especially games
5. Memory: A100 has 40GB (8 internal + 32GB SD card I added), my Ipad has 16GB - not expandable
6. Movies: Both play movies fine. Its easier to transfer files to the A100 though -- just cut and paste -- with iPad you have to use iTunes and sync.
7. Music: Both play music fine, but the AmazonCloudPlayer app is not available for iPad, so I have to use the browser version.
8. Video: A100 has flash player, iPad doesn't
9. Google Drive: A100 Drive App works great, iPad works through browser only.
