5 out of 5 eggsBEAST BATTERY

Pros: Amazing battery lasts me all day
My favorite color is blue

Cons: Not very light
Speakers are not loud

Other Thoughts: This is a great laptop. I bring it to school and it lasts me through all my classes. I don't even have to bring my charger. Depending on the usage, it easily lasts me 6-9 hours. The speakers aren't very loud so don't expect to be able to watch a movie from across the room. But headphones make it bearable. I've had other laptops which overheated easily or were flimsy and this laptop has none of those problems. The hinge is very sturdy and it can sit on my bed without the heat fan going crazy. For $400, this laptop is an AMAZING deal. Of course, don't expect to do any hardcore gaming or video editing on it. Internet browsing, photo editing, and word processing go smoothly with no problems/crashes at all. Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Laptop for The Price

Pros: -Very Durable: Dropped it on concrete; everything still works.
-Very Powerful: the i3 CPU is fast enough for a variety of tasks. including photohop, HD Movie and Matlab.
-Crisp Sounds: Sounds from the built-in speakers are surprisingly crisp.
-Awesome Screen: Even though resolution is a little on the low side, it is very viewable under sunlight.

Cons: None.

2 out of 5 eggswifi doesn't work

Pros: nice styling
compact size
works fairly well

Cons: wifi doesn't work even after sent to acer twice - gave up and have it wired ethernet style now.

acer dropped the ball on this one - been in twice for service but they can't fix the wifi issue - wifi does not work at all, and the computer itself is nice but is now used as a desk top replacement with monitor and keyboard with internet hard wired into it.

wasn't what I was intending this to do - was going to replace my compaq dual core amd for portable use but compaq still kicking and does what I need it to do.

Other Thoughts: if wifi worked I would give it 4 or 5 stars. what's the point of a laptop if wifi doesn't work!!!

Cons: The screen is reflective. that's the only downside. Highly recommended

5 out of 5 eggsGreat bargain, excellent for work

Pros: I bought this for work, needed to run VMs for cross platform development, so upgraded to 8 GB of ram. it was easy following the reviews. Runs like a champ, super quiet, handles all my processing as well as my office computer. Bonus, I even played a few games on it, had to toggle back the setting to minimum but played Dragon Age and Civ5 ok.

Cons: not enough USB ports, but a cheap buy on a laptop cooler got me enough.

Other Thoughts: If you upgrade the ram, read up on the reviews first.

5 out of 5 eggsBest laptop ever!

Pros: Bought it to replace my dying Pentium M laptop from 2002. It was given to me as a graduation present. I was grateful, but it just wasn't cutting it anymore. I needed speed - so I found this. I wasn't hesitant at all - the specs were very nice for the price, and I dived right in immediately.

No problems at all.

This laptop is wicked fast. Runs all my applications really well. Haven't tried gaming, but I'm pretty sure it'll handle the older stuff on medium. It's dead quiet unless you start doing some stuff that require the CPU fan to kick on, then it's a tad noisy. All the bloatware can be removed but keep the Intel stuff. The build quality is fantastic. Keyboard is well designed and feels comfortable to type on. It's also really light and small, so I can take it to and from school without it breaking my back or destroying my cheaply made bag. Very cool and quiet. Doesn't get too hot for me, but then again I don't game on it! Love this laptop!

Cons: I had problems with the touchpad's drivers. After say 6 or 7 hours of uptime, the drivers will glitch out and eat up the CPU. I noticed the processor jumping to 12%~30% when it was just idling, and it doesn't do that when the driver isn't buggy. I disabled the software (ETDCentral or something like that) on startup so I don't have any problems, but it does get rid of the nifty features.

The built in memory card reader needs an adapter if you want to stick in a PSP memory card. Otherwise it'll get stuck. The battery seems to always need to be charged after a lecture or two, which is a-okay with me since I can just bring the charger in my bag, but it may not be very good for someone who runs consistently on battery life. It's not amazing, but it's not horrible. Kind of in the middle. Also, the internal speakers aren't too crazy.

Other Thoughts: Newegg's shipping rocks! Got it here FAST.

Also, keep a microfiber cloth with you when you carry it around. Wipe down the screen from time to time - it's a glossy screen. The cloth helps.

5 out of 5 eggsSimply a good laptop

Pros: Not loaded with a ton of extra junk you won't use or need. Pretty useable right out of the box.

Bought it for my daughter for her last year of high school and into her college years. Does what it is supposed todo.

Battery life could be put in days, not hours.

Cons: The computer overall "feel"s flimsy, but yet it doesn't give or anything, so that is my perception of it and maybe that is because it is so thin and lightweight.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: fast cpu
expandable memory
sata 3
14" screen
less than 5 lbs
Camera (probably will never use it)
usb 3
Hdmi
BATTERY!!! (on average lasts 7 hours)*
Keyboard
Not too much bloatware (but there is a hidden folder that has all the bloatware backed up)

Cons: 16 : 9 screen
HD3000 ?

Other Thoughts: The laptop came with the battery switch in the OFF position, so the battery was not recognized. I had to open the expansion bay and flip it to ON for the battery to work.

*When I tested the battery, the computer was set to Balanced mode, and the screen was set to 50% brightness. I used Open Office Writer and Firefox

no other laptop at this price point offers so much value

too bad its discontinued
