5 out of 5 eggsHighly Recommended

Pros: Fast start-up of Windows and programs. Have not had any problems with it yet. Screen size not as big as I'm used to, but is still more than large enough to satisfy. The touch pad is very sensitive so no fighting to move the cursor around. The 0-9 keypad is wonderful. Speakers are load and great sound quality

Cons: Keyboard may take a little bit to get used to and the placement of the touch pad is not ideal if you are someone who games a lot. Also, there are no lights to indicate Num-Lock, Caps Lock, etc, just screen notifications when they are turned on.

Other Thoughts: All in all this is a great laptop with no problems just little tweaks that could be used. I would suggest a wireless mouse, but that is just personal preference. I would suggest this laptop to anyone because it has a great amount of equipment for the price. Great value!

4 out of 5 eggstis a good laptop

Pros: I primarily bought this laptop for the nvidia graphics card. There are not many laptops with a card like that at that price. So i bought it. I've played League of Legends, Torchlight, DC Universe Online, and they all ran smoothly.

It "feels" quick and responsive while browsing. I still notice a little lag while going through start menu and such.

Cons: A lot of bloatware. I defintely recommend a clean install of WIndows 7/8. Noticeably laggy upon startup.

I tried my best with CCleaner to get rid of everything unnecessary. Helped a bit. Still recommend a clean wipe.

Other Thoughts: The laptop doesn't catch fire, but it does get noticeably warm-hot while gaming. Ppl here lightly suggest getting a cooling vent to go underneath the computer. Well I HIGHLY suggest a cooling vent. I'm def goign to buy one.

But overall, I am happy with my purchase. Buy if youre a medium-serious gamer, casual gamer. Your gaming needs will be appeased. Serious gamers look elsewhere.

Overall good laptop for gaming, work, w/e. Very well rounded.

2 out of 5 eggsLemon

Pros: All the components are a bargain for the price, it looks nice and performs good too.

Cons: The touch pad!!!! If you are a person that uses touchpad a lot I can tell you only this DON'T BUY IT!!!!! It does not work the way you want it to work even after messing with the setting, it too sensitive to move the cursor around yet not sensitive enough to scroll! It is like driving high end German car on weaving mountain road except instead of a steering wheel you have a monkey wrench!!!

1 out of 5 eggsRMA :(

Pros: Looks like everything about the unit is awesome for the price...

Cons: ...my doorbell rang, I hurried to get it, the laptop was here. I excitedly opened the package, plugged in the battery, and turned it on. My excitement drained like a shotgunned beer: the right side of the screen was garbled and damaged looking. I had a lemon.

Other Thoughts: ...So I'm returning it for the same one. Newegg was very helpful in the matter, I called and got a human being that took care of me and walked me through the process.

Once I get the new laptop in the mail, this review will be updated.

4 out of 5 eggsFair.

Pros: Great system, boots up fast. everything works as I expected. Can play most games on highest settings at native resolution. The screen is great quality. The Track-pad is vary responsive. No problems with HDMI connection, or VGA. Camera is vary clear with good auto-focus.

Cons: No Bluetooth.
Can't go higher then dual monitor.
DVD drive doesn't always read discs.

Other Thoughts: The computer is well worth the price it's offered for over all.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent laptop

Pros: This laptop is an excellent choice, whether you're a college student, a gamer, or a computer technician(or all three like me.). The i5 makes video processing and web surfing a breeze and the GT 630M plays games smoothly and with great detail. The keyboard stays a comfortable temperature even when the laptop is under full load.

Cons: Not much of a con but as stated the laptop is a fingerprint magnet but it is easily cleaned and is very scratch resistant.

Other Thoughts: This is a great laptop for the price and i would highly recommend it to anybody.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Bargain!

Pros: Great computer for the price. Very bright and crisp screen. Thanks to Nvidia Optimus; the gpu is only activated during high performance programs. This helps save batter dramatically! From the moment I saw this laptop I was in love with the sleek design and feel. If you're needing an affordable laptop for college or moderate gaming this is definitely an amazing choice. Super fast laptop that will do anything you need it to do for at least a couple of years.

Cons: The keyboard doesn't light up but the super bright screen makes up for it by illuminating the keyboard. Touchpad is iffy but can be improved by disabling the scroll options and the touch to click. Bloatware as expected but about 15 minutes of uninstalling is no reason to deduct an egg. USB 2.0 ports are oddly placed in the front right of the computer, it can be a problem if you want to use a USB mouse. I used the USB 3.0 to cope with this problem. Other than that I have no complains.

Other Thoughts: I absolutely am in love with this laptop. I highly recommend it to anyone who needs a fast laptop that can play games for a low price. I can run league of legends on very high at 60 FPS!!! Drastic improvement from my old pc that ran it on very low at 20 FPS. BUY THIS LAPTOP!!!!!(:

5 out of 5 eggsAcer Aspire V3-571G-6602

Pros: Update on previous review...

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Updated bios from V.1.06 to V.1.09 and 1.35v 1600MHz CL9 1T RAM defaults to 1.35v 1333MHz CL8 1T RAM.

Essentially bios V.1.09 doesn't let 12800 RAM run at 1600MHz. Rolled back bios to V.1.06 and RAM is running at listed specs of 1.35v 1600MHz CL9 1T. Also benchmarked my 256GB Samsung 830 while at bios V.1.09 and was actually a little slower vs V.1.06.

Haven't tried any bios between 1.06 - 1.09 so if anyone has any feedback on low voltage memory and bios V.1.07/1.08 it would be highly appreciated.

Thanks

4 out of 5 eggsgreat for the price

Pros: -Great laptop for the price.
-Easily upgradeable
-Lasts about 3 and a half hours unplugged just doing light surfing (just req's some pwr mngment tweeks)
-I found the speakers to be pretty impressive.

Cons: -Bloatware is insane, but a clean install can fix this.
-Gets warm during charging/ games, but thats to be expected. No where near as close to mac book pros though if you've ever experienced that.
-Glossy finish is a fingerprint/lint magnet
-Graphics card isn't the best, but you get what you pay for
-initially the mouse pad is a pain, but if you change the settings so taps aren't clicks and get rid of the scroll features on the right and bottom side of the mouse pad it is much more enjoyable.
-Keyboard doesn't light up
-No one touch volume/lighting controls(they are all combo presses)
-One hard drive bay.

Other Thoughts: Like others have mentioned you can really get this laptop to "scream" with a few upgrades.
-I purchased 8 gigs of ram ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211568 ) because the details section said it was this laptops limit, but aida64 says it 16 gigs. I haven't tried it out yet but should be something for you to consider
-Also purchased a 256 gig SSD ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147164 ) to replace the stock 500. During this process i decided to go with a clean install as well and it took an entire day to get the drivers i needed from the ASUS support page ( http://support.acer.com/product/default.aspx ) and make sure they were all up to date.
- Make sure to install the prgms from the apps section too
- Currently for the 630m i am running the most recent beta drivers.
-A person mentioned earlier that you would need to perform custom mods to get the 630m working, i did not have to do this. All i did was install the driver
