Pros: Good gaming performance, fast loading and could run most games in high graphics (rarely on ultra without lag), good weight.

Cons: It took exactly one week for it to shut down and not come back up even after the battery was taken out

Other Thoughts: I do not know if it was due to overheat or whatever but for the specs this laptop has, this shouldnt have happened. Even my old computer could handle more pressure without dying and it has nowhere near the power this computer has. Not only was the performance lacking for the components it has inside but come on, one week while playing black flag in LOW graphics and it just shuts off without powering on ever again? I'm taking it for a checkup today and will issue a refund. For the price i bought it I honestly expected a little bit more.

Pros: Strong performance on most games. Can play on max or close enough to max settings for most games.
Keyboard is sleek and the keys seem to be pretty solid so far (every other laptop I've owned in last eight years had a key break in the first month).
Fantastic Kardon speakers. I did not realize that it came with such a good sound system (for a laptop). As far as laptops go, this laptop has the best volume control and sound quality by a giant leap.
The screen is very nice as with most Toshiba laptops as well. Its crisp clean and I've had no out of the box issues that I've had with other companies.
It's actually pretty quiet for being a gaming laptop.

Cons: You're going to definitely need some sort of exterior cooling system to play CPU intensive games. This CPU runs fairly hot and the built in cooling system will not be enough to keep it below it's throttling temp. I don't think it warrants opening it up and replacing fans or anything or anything durastic like that, but it definitely would have been an issue if I didn't already have a good cooling pad.
I didn't know if this should be a positive or negative because in my case it was a positive, but I can see it being a negative for some people. There is one exhaust vent on the right side where hot air will blow on your hand if you're right handed... if you are in a cold room, this can be comforting... you might not like it as much as I did.

Other Thoughts: I really wanted to give this a 5 but, the cooling issues were something that could be very problematic for some people. I think most people buying a gaming laptop realize that most gaming laptops are going to have cooling issues but, the ones that don't are the ones that get 5 stars usually. The lefty build didn't contribute to the loss of a star... It's just something people should know before buying it. I'm right handed and I'm not having any problems.
Also, understand that windows 8.1 will take some getting use to, and there are still some software problems that are yet to be corrected. You'll have a little more trouble than usual getting programs to access bios info i.e. speedfan or tempmonitor, etc... Also something to think about. Hardware wise and physically, this is a solid laptop.

Pros: it worked well with all games and no problems the first week

Cons: it overheated while playing some games and would just shut down and wont come back on. even after removing the battery

Other Thoughts: I think this would be a solid pc if it had better cooling

1 out of 5 eggsInteresting Concept

Pros: Looks beautiful!
Amazing Specifications!
Affordable Price!

Cons: Major overheating problem
Lack of adequate cooling.
Heat expels to the right side (mouse hand).

Other Thoughts: It has a massive over-heating problem. During a Battlefield 4 session with a room temperature of 55F and a Cooler-master U3 laptop cooler, it still managed to overheat and shut itself off. First time it booted right back up without issues. Second time it refused to come back on. After researching this issue, I ran into multiple people having this same problem with their X70 series Qosmios. It's very unfortunate.

The main cause of the overheating is the lack of fans within the case. There is "ONE" fan inside and it's controlled by CPU temperature. Unfortunately, with a 770M inside, CPU is not the only temperature that needs to be monitored.

I have requested an RMA-Refund for this laptop. I do not feel I should gamble on a replacement device.

I expect a response from the manufacturer telling me some devices have issues. Unfortunately, it seems the majority of this lineup has these "issues". I respect the manufacturer and will try their next model if they can improve it's cooling capabilities.

To all potential buyers: Please take everything I said into consideration. I'm not sure which laptop I will be choosing as an alternative at this time. I just know I won't be buying this model again. To those willing move ahead with this purchase, all I can suggest is that you definitely have an external laptop cooler to supplement the inadequate cooling of this notebook. Also be aware, it might not be enough.

Expected more Qosmio, work harder next time.

2 out of 5 eggsCaution on the Qosmio

Pros: Does offer great sound and good graphics.

Cons: Huge heating issues and unstable system crash
Wonky fans
Windows 8 take a bit to get used to.

Other Thoughts: I must mention that I have the X875 so its a bit older. Since march I have bought two Qosmios... and had nothing but trouble with them. My last laptop I've had to send into them 5 times once because they broke off the keyboard and sent it back that way. The Toshiba Depot is very bad and seems to be filled with lazy techs. The customer service is subpar at best. They don't seem to want to stand behind their product or customers. They're also unwilling to take care of you even if they make an error.
They will run your warranty out before they fix any issues you might have.

Please put thought into buying this computer. Asus would be a better choice since their cust. Service has always been top notch!

Pros: -For this type of power, its light and yet still well built.
-Awesome backlight
-The new i7 is a effin beast
-awesome screen
-Great battery for the amount of power it has
-The Harman/Kardon speakers are awesome!
-The 770GTX eats everything i can throw at it and looks awesome

Cons: -Charger port is a very weird design and id imagine its not an easy one to replace!
Oh and for a almost 1500 dollar laptop it comes with sooooooo much F#$%#% Bloatware, its annoying as heck

Other Thoughts: The fan exhausts on the right, which takes some getting used to if you if your using a mouse
