Pros: Uh... case looks nice.

Cons: It turned on once and when the battery died it never turned on again. The Newegg warranty doesn't take effect until the manufacturer warranty expires. Toshiba says this is the second sale of this notebook as a refurb and they refuse to do anything to fix it. So my Mother's Day gift for my wife sits in the Toshiba service depot until I can figure out what to do with it.

Also, the warranty I bought was for 1 year replacement. The Service Net site says I have a 3 month warranty. Guessing I'm out $300.

Pros: Chromebook is ... well Chromebook. Great to use for browsing, watching TV making simple documents and chatting online. This one is really built well, performs with instant on and sync's perfectly with my Google Nexus phone.

Cons: You can only use Google Chrome apps and I was unable to add my networked printer. It has it's limitations but it's certainly grandma proof

Other Thoughts: I am very pleased with this model. Doesn't feel flimsy or cheap like the Acer counterpart . I bought a cool skin for it too so it's rockin. Light and versatile and the internet is lightning fast on it. I would NEVER put out the money for an Apple when you can do everything here on much less money.

Pros: great size and feel. just loved it.

Cons: Newegg shipped 2 faulty units in a row. The first one ACTUALLY shipped with the wrong power adapter! Wasn't even close to fitting. The second one had a noisy fan I noticed immediately. Both of these were really the responsibility of Toshiba. Thanks Newegg for doing an excellent job of fixing the problem.

Pros: Great Battery Life
Responsive and Large track-pad.
Keys have space between them.
Boots within seconds

Cons: This laptop was suppose to come with +100GB Cloud Storage thru Google Drive. I couldn't access it and now Newegg doesn't even have a record of offering it. Very disappointed in the customer service for this one. I guess there's a first time for everythign.

Other Thoughts: Solid chromebook even for a refurbished unit. I wont give it lower then 5 eggs even tho newegg couldn't follow up on their deal.

Pros: Price of the refurb at half price of new retail. The condition of the refurb was like brand new. It was so new looking and so well packaged I would never have known it was a refurbished unit.

Cons: Remaining battery capacity isn't always accurate but battery still performs at about 8 hours.

Other Thoughts: To those reviewers that are reporting the battery capacity seems to diminish in a very non-linear fashion, I've also observed this in seeing the remaining capacity sometimes drop quickly from around 40% to 10% but the actual performance of the battery for my unit still remains around 8 hours no matter the how the capacity is reported.

The remaining reported capacity seems to be affect by thermal conditions. If one allows the Toshiba Chromebook to cool for just a few minutes after operation, which doesn't produce hardly any heat anyways, then the remaining capacity reported seems to follow a more linear path. I think this is more a problem of how the remaining capacity is sensed and calculated than the actual performance of the battery.

I can see how this can still be a frustrating problem if one can't trust the capacity reported but at half retail price I'm willing to live with this idiosyncrasy as long as my battery continues to perform for 8 hours.

Pros: Great price with rebate. Like-new refurb. As others have observed, it is quiet, has a fast startup, long battery life (~8 hours for several sessions), and all the Google goodies plus 100gb storage for 2 years. If you are a Google product user, it is great addition. If the media tools become available, this could become a 5 star device.

Cons: I am not sure chromebooks are quite ready for primetime. The big item that needs work is media management. By that I mean, compatibility and use of VLC player and Audacity, for example. VLC has something that may be coming according to blogs, and that would be a nice addition if it contains the capabilities of the VLC program itself. The available music and video apps are limited. Music and video editing does not begin to match capabilities of a ~$350 i3 pc, for example, but for 130$ you won't be disappointed.

Other Thoughts: I have wanted to try out Chromebook for a while, but not at prices over 200$. When the refurb Toshiba Chromebook was briefly offered for $130, I bit. As a "Google person", I was already familiar with what to expect with Google Drive and apps. And Chromebook doesn't disappoint for those purposes - photos, docs, simple spreadsheets work fine. If you you need a fully functioning Office suite, the Chromebook is not for you. One final thought, for a refurb the like-new Chromebook arrived in Toshiba packaging with a 90 day Toshiba warranty. The warranty wasn't identified at purchase time so it was a nice surprise, but I wished that I had not purchased a 1 yr Service Net warranty (40$) at time of purchase.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: For battery issues, you have to shut down it, and let it charge for a night, then use it. After wo cycles, your battery will perform normally.

Cons: Battery last till 50% and then randomly goes to 3% and Dies. Battery last less then 4 hrs, when its suppose to last 9hrs...

Pros: a really fast and easy computer

Other Thoughts: great for people that needs simple computing and don't need windows

Pros: Really light weight, bright display, fast, compact size. Looks perfect, slightest of a blemish on front cover. Really not worth mentioning. Has a memory slot, 100 gigs of free google drive space (couple of years anyway). I even made phone calls with google voice. Battery lasts 9 hours! You can install linux on these things, if you google it (strange right) you can find a distro and wipe out the chrome operating system.

Cons: You have to be plugged into the who google system, it's all geared towards using their apps. Everything's browser based. It doesn't have a backlit keyboard.

Other Thoughts: I wouldn't change a thing with this laptop. Its fast and lightweight. Perfect for watching videos, facebook and email. Keyboard is good and mouse is just like a macbook. If you know how to use the three finger trackpad it's a breeze to do (right) clicks.
