1 out of 5 eggsYay this laptop!

Pros: this is a bling bling notepad. you can tell your bros you spent near 300 dollars on a memo keeping device that runs slower than a 1990s palm pilot.

Cons: this is by far the worst machine i have ever had the pleasure of using. forget using this to browse the internet. it cannot do it without constantly freezing up or clipping down a page. and dont even think of opening another tab, photoshop? no. thats too complex of an idea. 1080p video? studder every 3 seconds or so. this will make you go insane. forget about playing a simiple game, ok to be fair, mame runs donkey kong fairly well.

Other Thoughts: its amazing how much of a useless product this is. i bought it for the sole reason of posting items on 'that auction site'. easy enough right? it had pushed a one day workload into 3. this is not a joke. this laptop is a literal waste of time. after one month of struggling with this craptop i invested 1000 dollars on something more substantial (acer r13) and wow.. its an actual computer that does actual things!

5 out of 5 eggsCheap but still upgradable!

Pros: My boy wanted to buy the HP Stream 13 for school work. I know the Stream is not upgradable at all. So we bought this. Upgraded the ram to 8 gb ddr3 1600 and threw in a 50 dollar 120 gb ssd. We loaded windows 7 on it and it is a beast. Thank you Toshiba.

Cons: Slow Celeron and 2 gb ram but it is upgradable.

Pros: none. Cheap if you want slow performance.

Cons: Warranty. My lcd screen developed dead pixels after 2 months.. After taking pics and sending them to toshiba support. They contacted me and said the limited warranty doesnt cover this repair. What a scam.

1 out of 5 eggsSlow and terrible right out of the box

Pros: I suppose a "pro" would be that this computer is cheap, but even for this low of a price, the specs are awful and the computer is nigh-unusable. The construction doesn't feel great, but at this price, I'd call it satisfactory. For a laptop with a larger screen, this computer is suprisingly light, which I find quite nice. The keyboard keys themselves have a nice feel, though the keyboard is cramped to the left side, making typing hand position rather uncomfortable for the right hand.

If you were planning on running a light Ubuntu or an older OS, this computer would do the trick for a cheap save.

Oh, and I know they say its "not up-gradable," but it most certainly is... you just have to unscrew the bottom, pull out the battery, and snap off the bottom cover, not that any upgrades would make a measurable difference with such low CPU strength soldered to the motherboard.

Cons: Let's start with the basics, for those out there who don't know much about computers.

Do you like tabs while using the internet? If so, this computer is not for you.

Do you like being able to smoothly scroll down while online shopping or reading email? If so, this computer is not for you.

Do you like running more than one program at once? If so, this computer is not for you.

Simply, this computer is so slow that it is barely usable, especially if you're used to computers that respond within 15 seconds when you click an icon or open a new window or scroll down on an article.

Now, onto the more nitty-gritty stuff.

All Windows computers will come with unnecessary programs, or bloatware, that slow down your computer. This computer is no exception. But this computer has such weak processing power that it took me almost an hour to remove said programs, using only the "Add and Remove" feature of the Control panel. And don't even get me started on how long it took for Internet Explorer to download Google Chrome. Right out of the box.

In my opinion, Toshiba should be ashamed. You can't have such a weak processor and 2 gigs of ram and expect windows 8 to run smoothly, or at all. As I type, I have Task Manager open, and have been monitoring Memory and CPU usage. One tab in google chrome is taking about 55-70 percent of this computer's CPU, and 80-90% of the shamefully small 2 Gigs of memory. It's not much more expensive, and definitely worth the upgrade

Simply put, an Intel Celeron N2830 Processor should never be used on any computer with an OS past Vista, prefferrably XP.

The touchpad is jumpy, unpredictable, and overall painful to use. It took me 5 tries to highlight and copy-paste 5 words. And I've used many a low-quality touchpad. Oh, and it also clicks randomly, when you don't press anything.

I wish I could say that this computer is good for easy, everyday use by those who aren't tech-savvy. But it's simply not.

Other Thoughts: Please do yourself and everybody who may come across your next laptop a favor and spend 75 dollars more on a different model with at least 4 gigs of ram and an i5 (or even i7) processor. The difference will be astounding. Alternately, look for other products that have a better price to power ratio. You'll be much happier.

FUN FACT: this computer has no CD drive. Most people, in my experience, that would be buying this computer, would expect a CD drive. There isn't one.

5 out of 5 eggsNo DVD drive included

Pros: Fast processing, good size LCD, light weight and the battery lasts for just over four hours. if I needed to purchase a replacement, I would buy this same model

Cons: There was no optical drive included but as the specs said this when I read them I knew that there was no optical drive before I purchased the Laptop.

Other Thoughts: Took some getting use to on how to navagate Windows 8 As I was use to Windows 7 and XP until I purchased this Laptop.

2 out of 5 eggsSpend your money on a better product

Pros: Cheap, HDMI, runs decent for a Celeron with 2GB RAM

Cons: One RAM slot, the whole bottom has to come off to add more RAM, tried to upgrade to 4GB but could not find compatable RAM locally and will have to special order, and most of all; No Optical Drive, nor is an internal one available on Toshiba's website.

Other Thoughts: For a $250 dollar laptop it works, but I think you would be better off spending a bit more money for a better product.
