2 out of 5 eggsOverheating issue

Pros: Wonderful laptop, did what I wanted it to, browse the internet and watch Youtube videos, and help me with College work

Cons: After about 5 weeks of owning it, it overheated and melted the top left of the screen, and this is after Mild usage since Christmas 2014. Refused to turn on afterword.

Other Thoughts: Seeing as I didn't expect this to overheat and melt the screen, I threw away the retail box it came in, unfortunately as far as I know, this means I can't return it and get it replaced, which isn't good since I need this badly for College.

5 out of 5 eggsJust what I wished for!

Pros: I put this on my Christmas wish list and I got it! Loving it too!
If I am not gaming on my desktop I'm just browsing the internet and now I browse with great speed!

I really enjoy how fast it boots up and wakes up from sleep.
The battery life is fantastic! Been unplugged and in use for several days since I got it.

Cons: You need to know what you are getting when you buy a Chromebook!
This is not your laptop or desktop or tablet. It is a device category unto it's own!

Wish that the F keys weren't removed, now I have to learn new shortcuts.

Other Thoughts: Need to do more research to learn some tips and tricks beyond normal use for the Chromebook.

5 out of 5 eggsSimple and cheap

Pros: Wanted to try a Chromebook on the cheap, and am very happy. Does everything I need and a couple of surprising things too. Just wanted a cloud-based laptop for travel. Email, media, document editing are all great. Can download movies for the plane ride from my Google Play account and not pay the insane prices for in-flight entertainment. Came with free Google Play music subscription and free Google Drive space (1TB!) which made it totally worth it. Also came with 12 free Gogo Wifi passes, which I'm looking forward to trying out on long flights. Good hardware and an incredible deal all around.

Cons: None so far. Doesn't do iTunes, but I don't care about that.

4 out of 5 eggsEntry level Toshiba Chromebook

Pros: Have always liked Toshiba products. They have a good solid feel to their construction and this is no exception. I especially like the keyboard, boot up ease etc.and other Chromebook characteristics.

Cons: I have an earlier version (estimate 2011) Samsung Series 5 with 3G chromebook and the display is much sharper and brighter. If I could do it over again I would pay the extra money for the sharper display and get the added bonus of the extra RAM.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: -ChromeOS: if you know what you're getting and you like Google services, then you shouldn't have a problem with the limited abilities of the operating system. Personally I love it. Its fast, and simple, and is only getting better every day. Best of all, you're getting a cheap computer that isn't loaded with bloat software.
-Price: There isn't much to say other than this is an incredibly reasonable price for the quality of this machine.
Build Quality:
Although it is plastic (as to be expected), this machine seems incredibly sturdy. I have only had it for a couple of days, so we'll see how it holds up, but so far I am impressed. Not only that but it has an incredibly sleek appearance.
Keyboard and touchpad:
Both seem to be of decently good quality. No complaints here. I've seen quite a few reviews of these chromebook keyboards and people complaining about the weird layout. Personally, I don't mind it and after a few days its growing on me. Its nice being able to have a button to easily push to search for anything that might pop into your head while doing other things. Do yourself a favor as well: get to know all of the keyboard shortcuts! ChromeOS also comes with a really neat tool that lets you easily learn/refresh yourself on the shortcuts.
Battery Life:
I've been working on this thing all day and it still has 3 hours left. Very impressed especially given how light and small it is.
Display:
I love the 13.3" display. Don't think I would be able to live with the smaller displays that seem to come standard with the other chromebooks in this price range.
Portability: It just is.
Sound Quality: Another big plus for this computer. Good volume with very nice quality and nice bass tones. I've never had anything by skullcandy and never really expected them to make incredibly high quality things, but this changed my mind.

Cons: I guess you could say the limited capabilities of cloud computing, but it is only getting better and you really shouldn't expect anything different from a computer like this. If you need to be running big complicated programs or gaming this obviously isn't something you should buy but that's a no brainer.

Only 2 USB ports.

Other Thoughts: Storage Space: it is limited on this device, but you can easily expand it with an SD card, no problem. The 100GB free Google Drive is nice as well. Don't thing I will ever use it but its nice.

I bought this as an alternative to my big powerhouse laptop so I could have something more portable and with better battery life. I honestly haven't even thought about my other computer since I got this. Its does most everything I ever use a computer for and does it very nicely.
This is my first time ever owning a Toshiba product and I am very happy with the purchase.
