The M70Vm from Asus revolutionizes the way you get your entertainment on the go, and it can improve your privacy and productivity. The 17" screen has a 1920x1200 resolution and supports full 1080p HD images. An nVIDIA GeForce 9600M GS GPU with 512MB of dedicated memory drives the screen.
The webcam at the top of the display works with face recognition software so you can log on with just a look, or use the fingerprint reader by the touchpad for additional security. It also doubles as an audio visual control panel at the flick of a switch, and the keyboard has a numeric keypad, something usually found in larger notebooks.
All of this functionality is great, but useless in isolation. So, there's a plethora of wired and wireless connection options. Circling the shell are 4xUSB, 1xFireWire, 1xRJ-11, 1xGigabit Ethernet, 1xHDMI and more. Wireless connectivity includes 802.11a/g/n and Bluetooth V2.1. There is also a WiMAX transceiver so you can take advantage of the latest technologies.

Amazing Laptop, Amazing Support
- Pros: Absolutely amazing laptop. Quality components. Bought it for the WUXGA screen & price, but everything else has been surprisingly impressive. It is HUGE. It is replacing my desktop (I'm sick of trying to sync the two up). I do a lot of work in linux. This thing is so beastly, that I can run 3-4 Virtual Machines in VMWare while running my desktop productivity apps in Vista, without tanking my RAM or CPU. The wireless has an atheros chipset, which is amazing. I absolutely love this laptop. Best investment ever.
- Cons: Vista Home Premium 32 Bit (only recognizes 3GB, not the full 4). Touchpad is a dualmode touchpad, not multi-touch. Little bloatware, but easy to remove.
- Other Thoughts: When I received the laptop, I immediately hosed the drive and installed vista business 64-bit, so I could use all my RAM. The included driver disk states it has only 32-bit drives, but they lie, it contains the 64-bit drivers as well.
A week later, vista began reporting hard drive failure, that I needed to replace the drive immediately. I backed up my data and called the support line. I spent about 15 minutes on hold. Got an ENGLISH SPEAKING gentleman who (within 5 minutes) had created the ticket and was already beginning the process of shipping me a new drive. I was so unbelievably impressed that I don't think I will ever buy another brand. Dell, HP, and GW have all outsourced their tech support to overseas. Asus (an asian company) has gone out of their way to open localized technical support facilities with technicians that speak my language.
Amazing Deal!!
- Pros: Simply amazing for the price! Beautiful 17'' WUXGA Screen it makes viewing easier and more enjoyable especially when watching movies, Photoshop or playing games, Geforce 9600M GS can handle most games on High, New Intel Core 2 Duo with 1066FSB and 6MB L2 Cache runs faster and generates less heat and better power saving, 4GB RAM (Only 3GB in Vista 32-bit). Also comes with an empty slot for 2nd HDD. Speakers are better than on most laptops (4 Speakers + Sub)
Battery Life: 3 Hours 20 minutes on Battery Saving Mode.

- Cons: What's the point of 4GB RAM if it doesn't come with 64-bit Operation System.
- Other Thoughts: This is the only ASUS M70mv with WUXGA screen right now.To install 2nd HDD you will have to get a hard drive mounting kit separately. Vista Home Premium (32-bit) recognizes only 3GB RAM.

Great machine,
- Pros: I got this machine and as soon as i opened the box it was like Christmas morning. The screen quality is perfect! and talk about quite. This thing is absolutely perfect for what I needed it for. It is great for World of Warcraft and Counter-Strike: Source. It is also wonderful for typing essays due to the huge keyboard.
- Cons: I got a machine with a faulty RAM card, fortunately ASUS has a great tech support/RMA system and 1 day after being in their possession, my laptop was on the plane back to Alaska.
- Other Thoughts: Overall, a wonderful machine, quite, awesome screen quality, good for the average gamer, and big key board.
If you have the money, buy it for sure.
Pretty Good
- Pros: This machine was perfect for what I was looking for. It preforms very well in CS:S and in WoW also it preforms very nicely for media.
- Cons: Now, for the cons, the only reason that i did not give this machine a 5 is because it bios were old and had to be flashed... what i want to know is how there was a bios on the box that was so old that the hardware would not function without a bluescreen every 5-10 minutes. However after the bios has been flashed and a word to Asus tech not to mention an hour of downtime i have had no problems
- Other Thoughts: Overall a good laptop. But, i meen how do you sell a system with a bios that is 4 updates behind... C'mon Asus...
Amazing Machine
- Pros: I don't know where that other guy went to school, but vista home premium 32 bit sees the FULL FOUR GIGS of ram. This machine is awesome. You will complain about any other machine once you use this beast. It does get a little warm, but its a nice heater in the winter. I picked up a rosewill dual fan laptop cooler with it, keeps it nice. This thing can run any software at high speed. No waiting. Name any program, it will load in UNDER 5 Seconds!! Once your past the welcome screen, 11 tray items load in nanoseconds.
Truly the best machine I have ever owned, and its got instant on linux.
- Cons: Update your Video and Wireless drivers ASAP, they cause bluescreens. Fingerprint reader is super touchy, dolby speaker system (2.1) does get a little loud. When in its bag, your shoulder can get a little sore, cus its so heavy.
- Other Thoughts: If you have the money, buy it.
