Size matters, no matter what anybody says, and sometimes smaller is better. Especially if you know what to do with it, and Asus does. The Eee PC 900 is designed for people who need lots of power in a small package. The Intel Mobile CPU and 1GB of memory run this Windows XP Home Edition system with power to spare.
The 8.9" screen has a 1024x600 resolution. The smaller screen lets you easily use it on a plane or train. A 12GB SSD Flash drive has plenty of room for you work and entertainment files and has no moving parts, so it saves power.

Newegg Rocks
- Pros: Wow, I ordered my Eee PC 900 on Wed and got it on Thursday. I'm using it to type this review. So far I'm lovin it. Plugged in my 160 GB USB external HD, also black, and watched an mpeg movie I had stored on it, played several MP3's and activated the camera. Fantastic "lil' puter".
- Cons: It's all good
Great value for the money
- Pros: Nice screen, great trackpad, SSD HD, size, weight, battery life, quick boot times, no shinny parts to attract fingerprints.
- Cons: Wish it had a bigger primary SSD HD but I understand Asus had to do what it did to keep prices low.
- Other Thoughts: Do your homework before you purchase this machine and you will not be disappointed. This is a great little machine. It runs surprising decent with Windows XP. The battery life isn't half that bad for a 4-cell.

Great Mobile PC!
- Pros: Small Size, light weight, decent battery life, great wifi range. Reasonably fast, works great in a mobile environment. Shockproof Solid State Drive.
- Cons: Keyboard is small, but that goes with the territory.
If unit gets hot, it shuts down. Here in the desert, you have to keep it cool or outside of the vehicle. I ordered a 12 volt power cord but it didn't work and Asus doesn't offer one. I have to use an inverter.
- Other Thoughts: Overall a great computer, I use internet sharing with my cell phone and have internet wherever I go.
Good Little Machine
- Pros: Celeron M is faster than I expected. Able to handle full screen video better than my friends Apple G4 12". Small and easy to carry. Impressive size. Great for presentations. I easily adjusted to the size of keyboard with minimal loss in typing speed. The best wireless (Intel Atheros).
- Cons: 12 GB SSD is actually a 4 GB SSD and a 8 GB SSD. The Operating System is installed upon the 4 GB SSD. I will have to reinstall Windows XP in order to get SP3. Comes preloaded with a lot of junk programs, which is unacceptable for a 4GB SSD. For the person who wanted to know about gaming, just forget it! Hard drive configuration is probably better suited to linux, which can easily place the home directory on a different disk than the primary disk.
- Other Thoughts: This machine with tweaking is perfect for reading journal articles, sending email, and giving presentations.
I Love It!
- Pros: Well, first, i was very surprised with how fast this was. With Fast Boot enabled in the BIOS, it boots in a little under 30 seconds. The Layout of the keyboard is nice even though it is tiny. Touchpad is very responsive and accurate. Webcam works well with included software and built in mic is crystal clear across the web.
- Cons: The Keyboard is a little cramped, but what can you expect for a 8" keyboard? The screen also looks a little blurry, could it could just be my eyes too.
- Other Thoughts: Definately worth it. Got this for school and it will do the job just fine.
