my first netbook
- Pros: The battery life is arguably the best feature of this product. It's really amazing how many hours you can squeeze out. Keyboard is fine for me though I have average/small sized hands. It surfs the web and plays .avi files just fine. Hard drive is spacious and has recovery files. Gotta love Windows XP SP3 =)
- Cons: After a few months of use the hard drive occasionally makes some loud clicking noises, the be fine the next time I turn it on...very strange. Sound output to headphones/speakers could be better. The wireless card could also be better.
- Other Thoughts: You've read it all before: tracks fingerprints and smudges. The seashell design is also a little strange at first but it seems solidly built. People with very large hands might go crazy trying to type on it but the keyboard is a little better than other netbooks I've seen.
Oustanding netbook
- Pros: Spacious keyboard, good performance, amazing battery life. Sylish. Extremely light. From my perspective, everything you could want from a netbook at a good price. Can run several applications or many browser tabs at a time without much trouble. Good size screen for a netbook. Runs cool for a laptop; never have the sense that it is burning my lap.
- Cons: Low webcam resolution. Spacebar slightly raised, as a previous reviewer noted. Also wireless internet connection can occasionally be a bit slow to get started but it is stable once established. Also this may be the fault of my old wireless router and not the netbook.
- Other Thoughts: Others seem to have mixed feeling about the touchpad, but I have found it to be one of the best I have used, including full size laptops. The only other petty complaint I have is that the charger and laptop LEDs both glow very brightly and I must cover them to sleep. Also, I may spend the $20 or so to get a 2 gig ram chip to make it even better at multitasking. One thing that surprised me is that the system monitor treats the atom as a dual core processor, which I was unaware of. This is presumably why it is surprisingly good at multitasking
Dependable Netbook
- Pros: Great little Netbook, booted it up as soon as I got it and loaded without any problems. Does exactly as it said it would do.
- Cons: Didn't come with 2 gigs of memory, but most don't so don't think it is necessarily a con?
- Other Thoughts: I have not experienced any problems with the power cord as some other people are claiming yet, the power block doesn't even get hot.
