Other Thoughts: The ac adapter failed and Wendy the supervisor at ASUS gave me the run around and will not honor the 1 year warranty. The warranty card plainly states that the warranty does not cover the battery or free accessories such as mice or laptop bag. She says that excludes them from covering the AC adapter that is integral to using the laptop.

Asus EEE 1005HAB White

Pros: I absolutely love this netbook.

Installed Windows 7
Runs Windows 7 smoothly
Keyboard is easy to type on
Mousepad works well
White model = hardly noticeable fingerprints
Wireless is FAST (150mb/s with an N router)
Light / Portable
PERFECT FOR SCHOOL
4 hours battery life with 3 cell

I really think this thing outperforms my desktop :)
I've already had tons of questions about it taking notes during school.

After a week of researching every netbook on the market, I decided on this one, and am so happy I did.

Cons: Wish the area around the screen was white like everything else.

Good little PC

Pros: The PC is Light weight.

The full keyboard is a great feature.

Function Keys allow easy changing to Monitor port. It also recognizes the different size of the monitor and adjusts the resolution automatically.

Boots fast.. (Well as fast as any other speedy pc.)

Gos into standby mode when the battery gets to low (I am sure you can adjust that) that way I can just push it and don't have to worry about losing my work.(as much)

Cons: Could use more memory

I personally had some issues streaming video from the internet. But it might have been my Internet connection because it plays DVD ISOs just fine as well as mp4 videos for the kids.

Power Adapter is currently giving me problems I left it plugged in with no PC attached over night and now it does not work.
Asus forums says to shut it off unplug it if it over heats and to let it cool down.
A little more drastic measure that they suggested was to smack it on the desk 6 times.(Not sure about that but more then 5 people said that it fixed it).

**I just plugged mine back in and it is working now after letting it sit for a hour.

Does not quite get up to 8.5 hours of battery life I suppose if I did not use it and just let it sit it might. But I have been getting around 6.5 under constant use.

Other Thoughts: People have complained about the loose power jack. But if you push it in until it clicks it hold good.

It is not the fastest PC in the world but for what it is it does a great job. If you are looking for a cheap PC that will do most anything a normal user will do then this is it.

I personally hook it up to a 22in monitor and use synergy to share my keyboard and mouse from my Linux box and it works great. Just turn it on change to the monitor and close the lid and move it out of the way. It works great to take with me and can do anything I need it to do and with the 6.5 hours of battery I don't have to pack the power adapter around with me.

You will also want to get a bag or a sleeve for this I always worry about carrying it around unprotected. Plus it give you a place to put a mouse or power adapter if you are going to be out for awhile.
