Phenomenal Machine
- Pros: I did a lot of research before buying this netbook, and in most cases, it was hard to spot meaningful differences in configuration. In my price range, they were all WinXP / 1GB RAM / 160GB HDD / Intel Atom N270, etc. So in my opinion, the choice comes down to quality and keyboard.
This machine feels well designed, well constructed, etc. Some others I considered feel a little too insubstantial. Also, a removable battery and upgradeable RAM were important to me.
The machine runs quickly, does a great job with video, email, internet, and I can even play some of my old games on it. The keyboard is the best netbook keyboard available, IMHO. They keys are springy with good travel, and the keyboard is completely usuable size-wise.
The touchpad takes a little getting used to, but after a day, I'm a pro.
Finally, what put it over the top for me was Asus's long-term reliability ratings and reputation. I've built many a system on Asus parts and all are still going strong.
- Cons: The camera is just ok, but not bad enough to dock an egg.
- Other Thoughts: I didn't buy from Newegg because I had a gift card from elsewhere. Had that not been the case, I would have purchased from Newegg, as always.

Here it goes.
This netbook is the best for the price of what currently is on the market. Down at my shop we get all sorts of netbooks from time to time to fix but never got a broken Asus so thats what i picked and I'm glad I did.
Performance is awesome like I said before. On my free time I loaded up VCoD, MOHAA(and expansion) Starcraft, Diablo 2, Warcraft 3, Sins of a Solar Empire(Yea I know right!) CS,HL1,CSS, Swat 3, Unreal, Empire Earth 1+2 and this thing can even run WoW!
Battery life is like stated in a grief post about 3.5 hours with this model but I knew that before buying it. The Asus Performance mode installed with XP does make a noted difference when chaing from super performance to high and so on. The keyboard is fine for me and I have big hands too, 3 usb ports, network, monitor, headphones and a mic port, built in decent camera, micro sd slot and more!
Also Grab an external dvd drive if you dont have one
- Cons: None- except for finger print smudges which you can easily clean :D
- Other Thoughts: Boot time is outstanding. I open lid, press power button, and within 11 secs my desktop is up and my programs(steam etc) are running and that was before i did my upgrades.
About a week ago I purchased a Crucial 800mhz 2 gigabyte stick that worked and installed with no problems. So to confirm 800mhz sticks do work with these. I also bought a SSD (Corsair S128: 128GB 2.5" SATA-II MLC SSD) to pop in here when i get a chance but havent had the time. In the long run ssd's are good investments. I know that when i put this thing in it will greatly lower power consumption and improve speed. So with the current products on the market that run with the intel atom 1.6ghz series this is the best netbook you can find period.

No regrets
- Pros: Price. Mouse pad has small dots that help you feel finger movemnet precisely. Tap is best I have used on a built in pad. Zoom is like IPhone. Has a dedicated off button for mouse pad. Battery life has been very good. Keyboard is fine for my full sized hands. Screen is fine, with non-glare construction. Over all feeling of good fit and finish. Very light.
- Cons: Comes loaded with trial software. Performance is slower than my full sized computer with same CPU speeds but still OK for surfing and email. The charging plug appears to be VERY delicate. Looks like it could be trouble if not used carefully.
- Other Thoughts: Have not discovered how to make the mouse pad scroll up and down. This means that you have to move cursor over to up/down arrows on side of screen to scroll which I have to do often because the screen is small.

One of the faster netbook I've seen (I'm servicing around 100 machines a week). Very reliable

- Other Thoughts: Compared to the dual core Atoms, I still get the same results.
