Pros: This little guy is the engine that could. I have yet to have a single problem with it.
Cons: I really really hate Windows 7 Basic, it really limits a lot of the functionality. If I had to do it again, I probably wouldn't go with the white color: it has a few nasty red stains on it that won't come out.

Rating: 1/5Avoid.
Pros: Nice form factor, feels solid, good screen, good keyboard, large HDD.
Cons: The trackpad device failed. Reinstalling the driver isn't possible, because the system doesn't even 'see' the hardware device. I'm forced to work this out with the horrible ASUS support because the NewEgg warranty on computers is very bare bones-- no returns period, and no replacement after 30 days. (I bought this 45 days ago). Between work, my family, activities, and selling a house, I don't have the hours (or life force) to deal with this.
Poor Battery Life: We were only getting around 4 hours from this supposed 11 hour battery, even running on the most efficient settings, dimmed display, powering down the HDD after 1 minute, turning off the BT radio, etc.
Poor Performance: With only 1GB of RAM, the system is nearly paging to disk right after booting up (before starting a single application). Watching most video is not possible due to performance problems.
Crummy Bloatware: The ASUS software is a joke ("Docking", etc.).
Other Thoughts: The trackpad problem seems common, and a common solution is to get an external mouse. Lugging around another piece of hardware sort of defeats the concept of a netbook for me.
I'll invest no more than 5 hours for solving this with ASUS, then fixed or not, I'll sell it on CL for a loss, and replace it with either an ultra portable laptop, or maybe an android tablet.
BTW, I'm a systems/infrastructure engineer by trade, and feel that my expectations for this netbook we're reasonable (no hardware failures, decent battery, enough power for basic web browsing, able to playback video).

Pros: Performance, display, and sound are good. Convenience is great.
The trackpad has two-finger and three-finger functionality, allowing easy navigation. (Still takes some getting used to.)
Cons: Netbooks do not have full-size keyboards, and typing is not as fast or accurate.
The trackpad occasionally is activated while typing, which can inadvertently move the cursor or highlight / replace text.
Both of these "cons" come with the territory. However, see Other thoughts on my experience with adding RAM.
Other Thoughts: The user manual states you need to disable BootBooster in the BIOS if you plan to change hardware (e.g. add RAM). I did this, and on bootup, Windows 7 Starter was unable to start several Windows services. I had to use System Recovery (F9) to restore the OS.
I then updated the BIOS from version 0804 to 1202 and found in the user forum that one should disable the BootBooster AND the QuietBoot (or QuickBoot) in the BIOS prior to making hardware changes.
After disabling Boot Booster and QuietBoot, I installed a 2 GB memory module, rebooted into BIOS and re-enabled Boot Booster and QuietBoot. Windows opened without incident and recognized the RAM upgrade.
Don't forget to re-enable Boot Booster and QuietBoot after installing the RAM.
I emailed ASUS tech support, asking what was the maximum amount of RAM I could install. The ASUS tech replied only 1 GB, which is wrong. That's inexcusable. If I knew it would work, I would install 3 GB RAM (4 GB if this is 64-bit hardware.)

Rating: 1/5not worth the price
Pros: small, light weight, and portable netbook
Cons: wi-fi works now and then. the cover is not as the pic shows, I was looking for the shinny white as a friend of mine has, obviously not the same netbook, since his works. crashes after 4 hrs of use battery doesnt even come close to to 3 hrs. if you have just a bit of dirty fingers and touch the cover, good luck cleaning it!
Other Thoughts: this unit gave me a bad vibe with regards to the vendor (new egg) do to the disappointment of its performance. Will not buy ASUS again!!!

Rating: 5/5Good value
Pros: Black friday deal for 200.00 Seems very solid and well built. Six cell battery , up to 8 hours of use. Express gate is cool.
Cons: None that I can think of, its a netbook, and used as such, there are no complaints. Well on second thought, asus bloatware, easily removed.
Other Thoughts: Better than a msi netbook I purchased a couple of years ago. Better construction, should hold up for those on the move, who need portable computing. Makes more sense than getting a ipad or windows equivalent pad.

Pros: This thing is amazing! It does everything I need it to do and more. I've never had any major problems a little defragmenting and system cleanup didn't fix. The matte finish monitor is fantastic. The small screen/keyboard took a little getting used to [this is my first netbook] but now I have a hard time typing on a regular keyboard! Runs videos from hulu beautifully. The speakers are the loudest laptop speakers I've ever heard in my life [once I figured out how to calibrate them anyway]!
Cons: I installed my photo editing software [Corel Paintshop Pro Photo XI - it's older, time to upgrade] on it and that is the only thing that runs slow.
The only other downside is [to me] a downside of any netbook - no CD/DVD drive. But, I remedied that easily by buying one that connects with USB.
Other Thoughts: Make sure you get a fan for underneath the computer. It gets very warm [probably from being so compact] even on a tabletop. I've always used a fan underneath my laptops and the only one I ever had a problem with was the Acer I stupidly owned. [I'll never buy anything but Asus again!]

Pros: Does what I need it to, Plays grooveshark, holds all my stories while I figure out how to finish them. Streams youtube flawlessly, Battery life is ridiculously awesome. I stretched it out to almost 16 hours while just typing on microsoft word and listening to music, and checking Facebook a few times. The background changer is sexy ;)
Cons: It can't transform into an equally good desktop computer. But seriously though my "a" button is a little off as in it doesn't always press when I hit it.
Other Thoughts: Shortcut keys work flawlessly. All my usb ports work, unlike another review where dudes left side port was useless. Processes fast, ram upgrade not necessary as I now have 2 youtube pages open grooveshark, and 4 other pages open microsoft word and works open and about 3 folders open the only thing that slows this down is downloading torrents. Which i don't recommend cuz its bad >.>... and stuff <.<.... A totally boss netbook to get for note taking, unless your taking something that requires you to use a lot of symbols like discreet math. This thing has become a vital body part.

Pros: Bought for travel and it fulfills that role perfectly fine. The keyboard size is decent and the touchpad is as good/bad as these things are on any laptop (get a mouse!). Even though it looks to have a single touchpad button, the button actually has a left and right side to it and functions like normal mouse buttons. Monitor is crisp. Battery life is outstanding. All USB ports work just fine. More than capable of streaming Pandora or Youtube while multitasking.
Cons: Touchpad button takes a bit of effort to click. Windows 7 Starter is a bit of a pain to customize but boots quickly.

Rating: 1/5DON'T BUY ASUS.
Pros: Great netbook (except that it died 31 days after it arrived). I love how small and powerful it is and the multi touch screen is very cool (except that it won't calibrate properly since it came back from repair). Oh, and they haven't come to my home and robbed me at gunpoint yet...
Cons: ASUS support is worse than useless. The robot-like phone rep speaks terrible Engrish, WAY too fast, & will simply hang up if you complain. After 1 hang-up, I spent 35 mins on hold to get the same guy (not kidding!). And now that I've asked for a supervisor and been on hold for another 10 mins, guess what? Yep, another hang up. Really? I mean... REALLY?!
Other Thoughts: I bought a different model that is no longer available on New Egg, but I felt the need to post this where it will be seen. To me (20 yr PC tech), a PC is a PC, and warranty support counts for a lot. Things break and need to be fixed, but when the whole process is like pulling teeth and zero respect is shown, where's the value? Life is way too short, buy a Dell.

Rating: 5/5AWESOME NETBOOK!
Pros: A great little netbook. Boots fast; non-glare screen is a BIG plus. Long battery life & fast recharging. Use it for surfing from the sofa & at work to programming AV devices. Very happy. Textured case finish is a nice touch.
Cons: None. Works perfectly. Very good build quality. Picked up a netbook sleeve at Target; maybe Newegg could offer one with purchase (or at a discount)???
Other Thoughts: Delievers as advertised.
