5 out of 5 eggsGreat ride after the first few bumps...

Pros: Excellent purchase...
This laptop is everthing I had hoped it would be and more. I was expecting it to be cheap plastic but was shocked at the actual structure.

Amazing Speakers

Always love ASUS and their fancy 3D graphics for volume controls

Cons: NONE(after restoring the sytem...read below)

Cant get used to the extreme wide screen 1366x768
Guess I have no choice...

Other Thoughts: When I opened the package and started it up all went well...welcome and setup....blah blah...did some updates and restarted...then it promped first time startup again...did it again...and again...then it wouldn't even turn on....dont be scared by this....the computer was originally purchased at Best Buy...I know this because I was able to restore it to factory and found the Best Buy updater on the desktop... Turns out the reason it was sent back to ASUS was the original purchaser went crazy deleting the registry....so it kept thinking it was never turned on....after a reset it worked like a dream....oh and best of all ... it only recognized 3 gigs of ram....then after the reset it found all 4 gigs...ULTIMATELY I SUGGEST BUYING A REFURBISHED LAPTOP... IT SEEMS THAT MOST OF THE PROBLEMS ARE FROM PEOPLE NOT KNOWING WHAT THEY ARE DOING....I got a new laptop $100 cheaper than buying at BB.....

I love Newegg

5 out of 5 eggsGreat computer at a great price.

Pros: I'm in love with this computer it is probably the best purchase I've made since my Xbox 360. Lightweight, fast, and so pretty. I can't tell you just how I love this laptop.

Cons: I'm not fond of the bloatware. This weird anti-virus program is annoying. Windows 7 is ok but I would prefer Vista honestly.

Other Thoughts: Worth the price. Great buy.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't buy Recertified

Pros: Good Computer with right specs.

Cons: Here is the story. This laptop came installed with an illegal copy of Windows 7. I spoke to a newegg rep, who in between his 3 to 6 min hold for each question, agreed to issue an RMA. As for Asus support - they are forcing me to buy a Genuine License for $109. My question is: shouldn't a laptop come with a genuine copy of the OS - re-certified or otherwise?
Newegg should get me a valid Product key for the OS.

Other Thoughts: Moral of the story;
Buyer's beware of the re certified stuff.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very nice full size keyboard. 16" screen, 4 GB RAM, and 500 GB Hard Drive. I purchased two of these- one for me and one for the wife. I've bought notebooks before from Newegg without any hitches, so I reasoned these were be good. I'm not disapointed and the price was great.

Cons: I wish it had more than shared video, but I'm not a gamer so it wasn't critical to me. The notebook works great for playing back videos and small games that I do get into. The sound is not very loud at all. I plugged in head phones and it still wasn't very loud. I did find some Altec Lansing USB speakers for under $15 and that was perfect for sound watching movies.

Other Thoughts: I'm real pleased with the order that I placed. The price was good and I'm glad that I purchased two. I bought these refurbished so I inspected them well upon receipt. Everything worked fine. I couldn't tell they were refurbished when I got them out of the box. I did reformat the drive to reload Windows 7 (I have a disk) to set them both up like I prefer. I'd highly recommend this product if still available.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat So Far

Pros: Newegg w/UPS 3 Day Standard shipping got it to me in less than 24hrs, can't beat that. Came with a few third party apps, easily uninstalled. Left the ASUS apps as I would like to see what ASUS has to offer.
So far there's been no hiccups, the touchpad is a bit jumpy when you roll your finger on it. There doesn't seem to be any jumping issues if you drag your finger though.
Can't beat the bargain price.

Cons: Doesn't come with an OS cd but come on, they're easily attained when it's a necessity.

Other Thoughts: I'm not sure what the future holds for this comp. I was going to buy the K60IJ-RBLX05 (re-certified) for $449.99 but waited to long and it sold out. I was a bit bummed until I found this, then I just got confused. Both models are essentially the same thing but the RBBR05 has a faster CPU and a hard drive that's 50% larger. Yet it's $40 cheaper . . . . yeah, very confused.

Had I not known about the K60IJ-RBLX05 last week, I wouldn't have taken a second thought before ordering.
