Pros: Appearance - very sleek looking .. thin screen ...not too heavy

Cons: IT CRASHED THE SAME DAY I GOT IT!! IT STARTED OUT BY MAKING A FAINT KNOCKING NOISE WHEN THE CHARGER WAS INITIALLY PLUGGED IN ..THEN THE DESKTOP DISAPPEARED AND KEPT GIVING THE MESSAGE IT COULD NOT BE FOUND FOR ABOUT AN HOUR ... IT SHUT DOWN BY ITSELF TWICE... THEN IT JUST STARTED SHOWING A LOT OF FUZZY LINES (LIKE A TV CHANNEL THAT DOES NOT COME IN CLEARLY) AND FROZE UP.. I CANT SHUT IT DOWN OR ANYTHING ... SO BACK IN THE BOX IT IS GOING TO BE SHIPPED BACK TOMORROW! SOOO DISAPPOINTED....

Pros: Super fast shipping from Newegg kept my suspense to a minimum. Thin, light, decent battery life (but nowhere near advertised), innovative touch-pad (once you get used to it). Very good looking laptop. Out of box, the 'refurb' showed very minor scratches on the most glossy parts around the edges, all else was flawless in spite of packaging. Brushed aluminum outside and matte rubberish palm area attract far less fingerprints than some of my buddies' glossy HP's. Speedy for the most part. I wasn't expecting a whole lot of speed out of it, but was pleasantly surprised. Xpress gate gives you very quick access to some online features (browser, skype, chat, etc...) without starting windows, kind of a nice feature I guess. Bloatware easily removed with Decrapifier. Seems to be durable given packaging it was received in... Opportunity from newegg to buy extended warranty on a refurbished product definitely put me at ease.

Cons: Touch-pad was hard to get used to (2 finger method for scrolling horiz AND vert), just different than I'm used too. Battery life nowhere near the 11-12 hours advertised by ASUS. At one point, just letting it sit there it showed me 10 hours and something left, then died a few hours later after actually doing something on it. Typical battery life seems to be 3-5 hours depending on usage, which is workable. Although the finishes attract less unsightly marks than the glossies, they aren't without their own flaws as they still attract oil smudges from fingers, making the laptop just a little less sexy... The packaging was one of the things I was most disappointed with. Egg did a great job of the box-outside-the-box, but the actual laptop inside the ASUS box was jiggling around with very minimal and damaged cardboard with only the plastic bag protecting the finish. I was expecting to have issues resulting from that, but have been proven wrong. It's obviously pretty durable.

Other Thoughts: Laptop is working great! Only took one egg for all my minor gripes. I have already recommended this laptop to my friends and enjoy it thoroughly. I was expecting, based on other pictures I'd seen on other sites a more gunmetal color, but it's sure black (and still looks great).

Pros: Wonderful display, great keyboard, ultra thin profile, stylish and great looking especially the aluminum lid, huge HDD space, very nice microphone. Insane battery life. Great NewEgg shipping as usuat. The laptop is really light

Cons: Keyboard does bend but only if you want it to or if you type really roughly. LOADS of bloatware, reformat immediately. The laptop does get warm but not like my friends HP that will burn your leg. ExpressGate button cant be customized to load another OS, such as Mint. Integrated Graphics card but that was expected. Not so wonderful webcam. The power brick gets really, really, really hot.

Other Thoughts: This laptop is great, there is another very similar version of this laptop with a dedicated graphics card but I didn't need it. This laptop suits my needs and is really just a wonderful, well designed, thin laptop. The lid is Aluminum, the palm rest is matte and the bottom is plastic. The laptop is sturdy and speedy. The ULV processor isn't the fastest but it is still speedy. ASUS really did a great job with this laptop! I got it and there was no scratches, dents, or anything that would show that it's refurbished. I expect this laptop to last for a long time. The screen is crisp, bright, and colorful. I get about 7 hrs battery life of normal use. The speakers are decent but are kinda muffled because of their position. Boots in 25 seconds after reformat!
