4 out of 5 eggsAsus G73JH-RBBX05

Pros: AMD Radeon 5870. It is still one of the old card that capable to play BlackOps 2 add Medium setting, BF3, SC2 and all without any issues. **BUT** you need to upgrade two BIOS first to solve the Graphic card issue.

Cons: Too heavy

Other Thoughts: Go to Asus Gamers Lounge website > Forum, then search Asus G73JH.

Search for video bios fix.

First , update your System BIOS to latest.
Second, update your video BIOS.

You should have no more issue to play any games now.

Video driver - please use those recommended in the forum and not download yourself from AMD/ATI website.

I have been using it since 2010 and have not have any hardware issue. But it did 4 clean up with can air blower blowing from front (touchpad air vent) towards the back. Then blowing the air vent beneath the laptop before finally blow from the back air vent (45 degree from the right or left). One full can every 6-8 months.

2 out of 5 eggsMy Experience

Pros: Great hardware stats and runs OS and a variety of games really well

Cons: Huge, laptop only in name.
After 3 months it started shutting down playing Starcraft 2 with anything but humans

Other Thoughts: I'm a bit disappointed, I spent a lot of money and looked forward to this computer only to be disappointed.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I've had this thing for over a year now, and had no problems with it until now. Its been amazing!

Cons: From the get go my back lit keyboard didn't work, no big deal. Now I have a big deal problem. According to my laptop it only has 2gb of ram, not 6gb as it should be, because that's what I paid for when I got it.

Other Thoughts: I've been trying to play a game all weekend, which keeps crashing. According to the crash logs, I don't have enough memory, it recommended upgrading to 4gb.. So I came on here to get model # and everything to see about buying more ram, and see that it should have 6gb of ram! Which would be plenty to play the game. So I checked my computer status and only have 2gb of ram.

I have contacted Asus, but because it has been a year since I purchased it I don't have a warranty anymore. They are still investigating the issue for me though thankfully. So hopefully it will be resolved soon. Otherwise I will be upset because I paid for 6gb and only got 2gb. I will just upgrade anyways, but that still makes me angry.

3 out of 5 eggsGood product, bad customer service

Pros: -GREAT Price!...bought mine when it was $1,100.00
-very nice specs and features. played SCII max easy, sure it can play BF3 too (if i could get it to work)
-backlight keyboard is awesome
-Cooling Amazing! and Quiet!
-Big display, and nice res
-charger still works (mayb just used to HP ^^)

Cons: -MoBo went out after bout 6months
-touchpad is plain bad (tho gamers surely will use mouse)
-Huge, even the power brick (but you know this). def consider this only as desktop replacement. def never do I whip this thing out at aiport etc, too much work.
-Asus cust service SUCKS! and def need to look at this, electronics frequently go bad. returned with fixed MoBo... but broke my webcam, put smaller HDD's in and added all this Bloatware!

Other Thoughts: minus 1 egg for faulty parts, minus 1 for bad customer support.

Note* I dont just hand out "!" so those exceptional/horrible points.
Overall, I would buy this laptop again (for $900)

5 out of 5 eggsdam good laptop

Pros: Fast, this laptop is fast. When I first got it. The G73 was one of the fastest laptops on the market. That sead I added faster ram it now has 16gigs of ddr3 and replaced the harddrive with a 750gig 7200rpm and a 1.t 7100 wd hybrid drive with 64 gigs of ssd on topof it. It start in less the 3s and 8.5 on winds tests. It plays BF3 in high with no problam. And any other game like nothing it king.

Cons: When I first got it I had to update the bios rom and the first update killed the keybord backlight. I call asus and a patch was avil less the a week later. The black mat finish is good looking and does not show finger prints. But show dust bad. Tuch pad is not the best but I use a mouse.

Other Thoughts: The power pack lasted a year and it fryed I am an otr trucker so can't just buy a new one. I did have a unervarsal for my backup. It is working for now. I will order a new one from asus.com or maybe an aftermarket, one the has a littlemore life. Besides it need 150 watts min.

3 out of 5 eggsnot good for working or school use, but for gaming

Pros: Great specs, very fast and can play at max settings with any game so far. I would recommend upgrading to a stronger hard drive.

Cons: keyboard keeps on missing the strokes a lot and found out that this is a common issue with all the g73jh, your best bet is to update it but I still have lots of issues but doesn't affect me while gaming. If you want to do work or school on this you're gonna have to buy an external keyboard. They made the exhaust vents too long which makes it really really hard to find a good carrying case that can actually fit this.

1 out of 5 eggsWalk away from ASUS!

Pros: The stats boast high end data with a low price

Cons: It plain doesn't work. It has been broken down longer than it has worked. You buy this computer PLAN ON NOT HAVING IT WHILE YOU RMA IT MULTIPLE TIMES!!! Read the reviews.

Other Thoughts: I own a laptop because I need it for work and personal entertainment. When it goes down, it throws my work and entertainment out of wack. I have to save all my work to an external hard drive since this ASUS is so undependable. While the ASUS people drag thier feet about sending me an RMA i struggle through work on my wifes computer. I WILL NEVER BUY an ASUS again. Way too frustrating. I will take a lower spec computer that works. Maybe it's time for me to look at Apple and just resign myself to console games.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome all around lappy

Pros: -Speed, i7 quad core @ 1.6
-Heat, because of the lower clock and wattage, the heat is kept in check
-Noise, less heat = less fan spin = less noise
-Power, Hasnt slowed down yet for any game ive thrown at it
-Screen size, 17in Screen is awesome and looks great!
-Price, Refurb but runs like new! Well worth the amount saved
-6Gb of RAM
-Keyboard, They used the design off the Apple Macbook Pros, which look awesome. Took some getting used to but once you get it down, the keyboard is solid and easy to type on. Also it offers a ful style keyboard with num pad. Its also Backlit.

All around this machine is a beast for the stock clock speeds on the proc. Heat is low, speeds are fast, what more can you ask for?!

Cons: There arnt many things to gripe about on this particular lappy. One i would say is the big back end. At the same time this also helps on heat disperssion.

Another thing is the battery is tiny, which hurts the battery life. But at the same time it also keeps a larger portion of the back end of the laptop (where is rests on your lap) free from a heat spot.

Overall size is huge, but thats something to expect when you get a 17in laptop.

Also the touchpad is a little weird as well as the click button underneath it. Its hard to press at time, this shouldnt be a big deal if your are going to be using a mouse.

The extra stuff they install on it is the last con. They load this up with a buncha software you dont need, took me around 1 hr to remove all the stuff i didnt want.

Other Thoughts: Overall i would say this laptop is well worth the money. You get speeds, size, and quitness all in one awesome and great looking laptop. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a large laptop.

5 out of 5 eggsamazing

Pros: this computer is fast and amazing, the design of it is epic and smooth. some of the reviews on this laptop were kinda scary, have to go through two or three of them to get a good one. mine came perfect/

Cons: there are not much cons, one is i use this for school and it is a bit big for my bag and a bit heavy, but that is to be expected from a gaming laptop. the is a small scratch under the windows sticker on the inside of the laptop and it was very dusty when i received it.
