4 out of 5 eggsOverall Decent

Pros: Fast & Decently priced. Back-lit keyboard is nice. Wakes up really fast. Screen is very nice. I like the back of the screen how the logo lights up. Plenty of inputs, Runs games very well. I have a GTX 580 in my desktop and for the most part this laptop keeps up with it. It scored lower in 3Dmark, but its able to run most recent games maxed out. I saw frames drop a little bit in Skyrim in the really dense forests, but other than that ran flawlessly maxed out.

Cons: The part of the laptop that your wrists rest on when typing shows oil etc from your hands and its not that attractive looking. Maybe just since its new it is more apparent than it will be in the future. Being a gaming laptop, I was disapointed in the responsiveness of the space bar. It is fine if your thumb hits it in the center, but when your using WASD your thumb tends to be right on the edge of the space bar and it doesn't register all the time, so you have to move your thumb a little closer in to the middle of the space bar. That has been the biggest annoyance so far. Also the touchpad seems to be really sensitive and I find my fingers/hands touching it while i'm typing which moves the cursor out of where i'm typing. Also the placement of the windows key on the right side of the spacebar is pretty idiotic. When I'm using it for work, I'm using a USB keyboard anyway so it doesn't bother me too much luckily.

Other Thoughts: For the price, i'm very happy with this purchase. It runs everything I need it to do for less than competitors models in the same class.

1 out of 5 eggsAwsome - for 3 weeks

Pros: Great specs at an unbeatable price.

Cons: Screen died after 3 weeks of light use. My Newegg account said it was eligible for a refund so I sent an RMA for a refund to Newegg only for them to tell me it wasn't. Disappointed with the Indian giving news I put the RMA on hold since I was bent over a barrel anyways. 2 weeks later I responded to the RMA only to find that I now can't RMA it either..... I bought the extra net warranty with it waiting to see weather NewEgg replies, the net service warranty will cover it or the manufacturer, it's a big ol' fail at this point.

Other Thoughts: Believe the horror stories about ibuypower laptops, I did not and it cost me $1400....

4 out of 5 eggsSatisfied First Buyer

Pros: Hands down, the quality of this product exceeded my expectations. This computer was the first product I ever purchased from NewEgg, and since I always purchased all of my previous computers directly from the manufacturer, I was admittedly a little wary of the unexpectedly low price (considering the stats are all generally top-notch for the gaming I use it for). It arrived a day early, and was fully functional out of the box with no major shipping or manufacture issues. In the last month since I received it, I have had no issues with any of the games I've played on it (Diablo 3, Star Wars TOR, WoW, each for hours at a time and often simultaneously on the same system).

Cons: I did notice one minor defect upon receipt; the touchpad's left-click button, although functional, did not have the springy 'click' sound and feeling one would expect when pushing down and letting up on the button. Hopefully that description is clear; every touchpad button I've ever used had a "click-clock" sound when you push down and let up respectively, and this one button didn't. I also noticed that I had to push down a little harder than expected to get the cursor to actuate. The right-click was fine, and I never even use the touchpad while gaming (and so it didn't bother me), but to address this loose end for future use, I figured out how to remove the necessary parts and I fixed it myself (plastic piece under button was found to be seated improperly upon inspection). Again, really only an annoyance since the button worked regardless.

I hate hate hate hate Windows 8; whoever sat down and said "Okay guys, let's get rid of the START button" needs to... expletives aside, find another career. It is the most unfriendly environment to do anything more than the simplest of things in with a lifetime of experience from previous versions of MS DOS, Windows, etc. And to complicate the matter (this is entirely from experience with things unrelated to this purchase), downgrading to Windows 7 often results in a huge headache because all the component drivers that come with the system are specifically for Windows 8, so you have to first go find a 7 version compatible for every single internal component, which may or may not work 100% based on the exact make/model, and you could find yourself suddenly stuck between a rock and a hard place if things don't go swimmingly. But this problem is NOT with this purchase, it is with the dumbbutts at Microsoft, and according to rumor, Windows 8 may soon be getting some updates to make up for the lack of start button that I miss so dearly (speculation only).

The only other thing that I could make note about is the thermal mitigation (fans and heat removal). With WoW running by itself with all graphics set to highest "Ultra" and in various different environments within the game, HWMonitor reported a worst case cap (maximum) of 89 degC on the NVidia GPU die thermometer over a period of about 10 hours. That number was the highest I ever saw, and was a little concerning so I got a fan pad to place under the computer which blows air up into the intake vents (powered from USB port). When the same experiment was performed with these extra fans (doing roughly the same things in-and-out of game for the same amount of time), HWMonitor reported GPU temp max of 81 degC. I can live with that.

Other Thoughts: I am typically very thorough when I write reviews, and I always try to maintain a balance between the pros and cons in my discussion points which gives me more to talk about and, by extension, gives others a detailed reflection of my experience. For the first time in a long while, the pros of this purchase far outweigh the cons, hence the short and simple Pros summary above. I wrote more in the CON section because those are always what I look for in reviews, especially when I'm considering paying tons of money for something I won't see until it arrives at my door with my name on it. From my experience, only minor things that did not impact my plans for it were found, each which I could fix myself in some way or another. I am extremely pleased with the quality of the product and have no doubt that my next purchase will be from NewEgg.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Value

Pros: I am a experienced computer builder. I've been building computers since the late 90's. I wanted something that I could take with me on vacation and still be able to play any videogames I throw at it. This laptop does not disappoint, but you have to know what you are doing first. At stock it is a decent gaming laptop that does ok at med/high settings. But with a couple "adjustments" this thing screams. I scored over 40 fps in both uniengine heaven and valley benchmarks @ ultra 1080p minus AA. I average between 55-60 fps on BF3 @ ultra 1080p settings minus AA. There hasn't been anything this thing can't run at high settings with great fps.

Cons: The matte finish on the screen can be distracting while web browsing. It looks very grainy when looking at a white web page. The construction of the case, while good, still leaves a little to be desired. It's plastic construction can feel a little cheap, especially when you raise and lower the monitor. When running the fan at max, it can get very loud, I would suggest a good pair of headphones or a loud speaker setup to drown out the noise.

Other Thoughts: I bought this on sale and now its back to its regular price. At either price it would be a good buy. I got it for a steal. If you are looking for the best bang/$ then don't hesitate to buy this laptop. It is worth every penny.

5 out of 5 eggsBeauty

Pros: Just got this computer today and it's an absolutly beautiful piece of machinery. Beautiful screen (looks better than my tv), fast as can be and has amazing edges and detailing to the body.

Love the number of USB ports and the rear access HDMI and power.

Cons: I can't stand windows 8. It's a terrible operating systems designed for tablets. Get off my laptop/desktop!!! Ibuypower makes it very easy to revert to 7 as they provide drivers on thei website.

That being said, once you fiddle around with 8 enough and do a few google searches on how to do what used to be menial tasks, it's tolerable.

Other Thoughts: Love the computer. Plays games and movies wonderfully! Haven't been able to throw anything at it it just couldn't devour!

5 out of 5 eggsOh man where to start?!

Pros: -LED backlit shell, keyboard and mousepad!
-750GB 7200RPM HDD with extra HDD Slot
-16GB of RAM 1600MHZ!!!!!
-Intel WiFi Chip (not generic ibuypower one from what I can tell)
-4GB of VRAM
-GTX 675MX (GTX 680M is great but not $400+ great)
-Amazing vibrant colors on display
-$1324 as of this review (5/16/13)
-Blu-Ray Drive

What can I say? This thing is LOADED with features! This laptop literaly mops the floor with price per performance. I have been looking even at the ibuypower.com customizer and couldn't get very close to this price, I was roughly $100 or more over even with Next Day shipping from NewEgg! This is such a great deal DO NOT WAIT.

Cons: -Keyboard a tad cramped but easy to get used to
-Mousepad/Trackpad buttons are sometims frustratingly resistive and you sometimes feel like you are clicking but still have to apply more force (although it appears the more I use it the easier it is to click)

These are just nitpicks, please do not let this discourage you from getting this amazing gaming laptop! Honestly this is a great deal!

Other Thoughts: I have to say I was annoyed it came with Win8, but if you go to the ibuypower website they do provide drivers for windows 7! So downgrading is smooth and as easy as it should be and drivers are very easily labeled (e.g. Bluetooth driver is named "Bluetooth." Also as stated the RAM IS INDEED 1600 MHZ!!! Also the WiFi chip is also an INTEL upgrade with Bluetooth 4! :D These amazing surprises really made my day.

Also for techies, this video card CAN be swapped despite what I've heard from other reviews. It appears to be the same exact size as the GTX 680M or 7970M and there are two hidden DDR3 Slots underneath the keyboard (dis-assembly required and will void warranty from what I understand)

5 out of 5 eggsSo Far, So Amazing!

Pros: As a Vfx artist and Game Designer I truly needed a desktop replacement that could handle dense polygonal modeling and complex simulated particle effects. Research served well In this case. In spite of the multiple mediocre reviews online, this workhorse has the look, the features and the power to handle anything I threw at it. I've tested high res models in Zbrush, and 3Ds Max and several complex Fluid simulations Maya. It also Renders in Vray faster than my Home workstation, which blows my mind cause my Workstation is a beast. If your a designer you cant go wrong with this machine. As for Gamers, like me, I've only tested 2 titles on this so far. Starcraft 2 Heart of the Swarm and Alan Wake, and they both were handled with ease at the highest settings. I personally didnt use the Window 8 pro version that came with the laptop, I upgraded to the latest Windows 8 x64 Extreme edition. which IMO is Much more amazing and allows you the revert back and forth to a standard Windows 7 UI and a Cleaner Windows 8 UI. Long story short, I'm in love with this machine, and I'm going to continue to push it to the limit because it can handle it for sure! Thanks Newegg for the prompt service, you guys rock!

Cons: As amazing as this looks, it does pick up fingerprint very easily. But, nothing a lite damp cloth cant cure.

Other Thoughts: another thing, the description says it comes with DDR3 1333 mhz ram, but to my surprise to see 2 sweet Gskill 1600 mhz Ram Sticks inside, which is awesome. Just a heads up if you plan on upgrading this to 32 gbs of Ram like I am.
