5 out of 5 eggsTransformer has replaced my laptop

Pros: Great product. long battery life (esp with dock). HDMI output. mini SD card input on tablet, 2 USBs and full SD on dock. ASUS keeps up with updates well. Love the changes asus made to honeycomb (specifically the back, home, window buttons).

Cons: no flash on camera, but still takes decent outdoor photos. screen sometimes messes up when I plug in the HDMI output, not sure why but I think it may be a browser issue.

Other Thoughts: My first Android and first tablet. Got my transformer in august after much research. Decided on the transformer because of the available dock since I was pretty much replacing my laptop. Have not regretted the decision at any time! The dock is a must have or transformer is not much different than other tablets. Also getting a capacitive stylus is not a bad idea (esp if using supernote app). Will most likely continue with ASUS transformer series in the future. TF101 is still a great product even with the Prime released.

5 out of 5 eggsGood job Asus

Pros: I received mine as a gift in Oct via another retailer and wanted to put it through the tests of life before I wrote a review. It is my first tablet but I've played with my daughters "ipd" that doesn't come close to this. Asus did a great job of including the USB ports and memory card options (via keyboard). I love honeycomb and can't wait for ICS. I really appreciate the office suite that comes with this tablet as well. Again, Great job.
I've used it to speak from in conferences and taught from it in class. I've presented flash video (Prezi) and ran other video formats through our 'smart classroom' tech here at my university. I have a free FTP app, Kindle app, and a file browser app. linked with the office suite that it came with - I can't ask for more. This thing puts the 'ipd' to shame.

Cons: Transformer prime came out too soon after I received my transformer. (Ok mine was a gift so i'm really not annoyed!) The keyboard dock keys are poorly designed. I'm a good typist but this keyboard makes me feel like a goof a third of the time. In spite of that, this Dock adds a ton of battery life and other great options that counter the poor key responses.

Other Thoughts: I'm an avid computer user. This has been put through the tests. Tablets are not laptop replacements but this one comes very close!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great shipping. Great product. I'm not a computer guru and I am new to android technology. This tablet is extremely user friendly. I am impressed with the video quality and speed of both the internet and the tablet itself. The keyboard is a must for an old-time speed typer. It has a good key response and feels nice and solid. Some people have complained of weight after reading for a while. If you have the cover that folds over to prop up the tab, then it removes that issue. If I get sick of holding it (like some of my bigger hardback books) I just set it up by the cover. The screen is just big enough to enjoy the android games and the sound is excellent for a small device. I'm very happy with my Transformer.

Cons: The only con I can come up with is the lack of my user knowledge on some things. No fault of the tablet!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Tablet

Pros: - If you use the keyboard also it provides a built in case when you close it

- Some people don't like the plastic texture, I love it, it provides good gripping for holding

- Frequent Firmware updates

- Nice Screen

- Good Stability

- No problems with Andriod or Other Markets

- Strong Wi-Fi Connectivity

- Fast and smooth operation

- Had been confirmed it will get an OS update to Andriod 4.0 AKA Ice Cream Sandwich (rumored by end of year)

- Long battery life once you get the updates and especially if you get the dock

- Been out long enough to get the kinks out, but not so long it's worthless

- Netflix can be downloaded from the Andriod Market

- NewEgg is great seller

Cons: - Could be a little smaller and lighter, but nothing overwelming, even with the keyboard only 3 pounds appox

- No flash on camera, but how many of us take too many pics with a tablet, pictures do come out passable

- Stock browser often tries to lock you into 'Mobile Views' which is a shame since a nice big screen. Though a download of the Dolhpin broswer) and perhaps others) will alleviate this easily

- Light bleed around at the edge of the screen

Other Thoughts: Yes there the Transformer Prime (AKA Transformer 2) is coming out, but this model is time tested and cheaper.

I would of given it 4.5 Eggs, but not given that choice. Still recommended.

5 out of 5 eggsWhat an Android table should be

Pros: Slick Android Interface (much better than 2.3x)
Powerful processor doesn't get bogged down.
Very expandable (especially with doc)
This thing is what an Android tablet should be! It's slim, light, powerful, and sexy! I have an Archos 70IT, and a Viewsonic Gtablet and this just makes them look like cheap play toys. The interface is slick, the thing never bogs down and using it 8-10 hours most days I have never had it crash. I bought the dock with it and it does last 16+ hours before a recharge. I'm glad I bought this one!

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Asus has already promised that this device would get ICS (Android 4.0).

1 out of 5 eggsGreat Product -- Terrible Customer Service

Pros: The product itself is great. It's lightweight and great to use.

Cons: While the product is great, ASUS's customer service is absolutely terrible. My initial product stopped functioning properly when it was dropped from the couch I was sitting on to the carpeted floor. I paid 120 dollars for the repair, which I admitted to. Literally a week later, I went outside to read and then came inside and plugged it in to charge. The product wasn't holding a charge. Not only that, but a micro crack had developed and cracked INSIDE the screen. I called them and they said they'd give me free shipping and then determine whether or not to charge me.

Cool. 2 weeks later, I get an email. They want to charge me 199.99 for an LCD screen and 100.00 for labor. Seriously? They want to charge me almost half the price of the unit in a repair that wasn't even what I sent it in for, and they didn't even address the charging issue.

I won't be buying another product from ASUS again simply from the build quality and the customer service.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat tablet

Pros: -Best Price of all same spec tablets
- keyboard dock is amazing
- battery life is rediculous(days without plugging in, if not used constantly)
- sleek style
- more i/o than most tablets. micro SD hdmi etc, full SD and USB with keyboard
-dropped many times without damaging or scratching
-asus tosses in some extra widgets and apps that are really nice
-keyboard option cures so many of the functionality woes you might have
-I am a computer repair tech by day and comp sci student by night....I love it, its not just another gadget, it saves me so much time throughout the day

Cons: -a lil thicker than Wifes galaxy tab 10.1
-doesnt feel quite as stout as her galaxy tab
- the Transformer 2 is about to release in 2 weeks at the same exact price point (supposedly), may be worth waiting for that tegra3 quad instead at the same cost

Other Thoughts: Mine got left on the roof of the car and slung across a busy intersection. Heartbreaking. I was thoroughly defeated when I realized what had happened. I had no idea how much this thing had taken over my daily tech tasks until i had to go without it. I did get to see the inner workings.....there is an empty slot on the mainboard where a standard 3g/4g card was designed to go but no socket soldered in. solder joints are there, someone with a steady hand and some linux "driver" experience could easily slap a card in. It was designed to hold one.

5 out of 5 eggsThe best choice in tablets

Pros: I have worked with quite a few tablets, and this is the most responsive and durable tablet that I have seen so far. The memory is more than enough for even someone who installs every app they can find. On top of that you can extend the memory to nearly limitless amounts with the keyboard dock's USB ports on top of the SD and Micro SD card slots.

Cons: A little bit of light bleed at the edges of the screen, and it uses a proprietary power cable.

4 out of 5 eggs:D

Pros: fast, Wireless-N, there's a lot of apps that are similar to apple's apps , video chat with goggle talk , almost everything to do with Google you will find , coming up with updates, soon there will be a external usb and big SD card, 1gb of ram,
gps you have to download the maps were you want to go over WiFi then you can use the gps to bring you there, it will keep your position with out WiFi.

Cons: Skype video still doe's not work, if it ever comes out for this tablet it will be awhile. no USB, have to restart after a couple of days of use with different apps.

Other Thoughts: Skype video is the main reason i got this, and watching movies while traveling, and Skype video doesn't work, the movies play really well, nice browser wish it wasn't a mobile browser,
i had it for a couple of months and I'm thinking of selling it and getting a iPod touch 4 g or the 5g when it comes out, and I'm not a apple person. it would be cheaper and better for my use.
