5 out of 5 eggsDoes everything it is made for

Pros: The laptop fan is located on the side so that gives the laptop better airflow than at the bottom. Stays relatively cool in most conditions and runs quick without any issues. Asus does not disappoint with their refurbished products, the laptop came in a condition close to brand new. Perfect for a college student who is always on the go. The Bamboo fiber finish gives the laptop a touch of elegance that will surely impress. Battery life is also really good and efficient. Usually on a full charge it can last 4-6 hours no problem if I'm not using any programs that use a lot of processing power.

Cons: The Bamboo gets oily easily so make sure to clean it once in a while.

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for a gaming laptop this is the wrong one. Though you will be able to play a fair amount of games just not the higher end ones that require a significantly. Really good bang for the buck value. I do not regret this purchase and several other friends have purchased the same laptop and really enjoy it too.

4 out of 5 eggsPleased With It

Pros: Quiet, strong processor, enough ram.

Cons: Border for the screen is just a tad loose.

Other Thoughts: I wish it had a little more battery life, but the overall combo of size, weight, price, processor, and RAM makes me very happy. I slapped a well rated SSD in and love how fast it boots and loads programs.

1 out of 5 eggsBad now outweighs great potential

Pros: This computer is fast and offered me sufficient memory and ram for the price I paid.

Cons: I have have this computer only nine months and it has already broken down twice

Other Thoughts: I am really enjoyed this computer for the first nine months that I've owned it. The processor speed amount of memory and ram was extremely sufficient for my needs as a photographer. I was not concerned about speaker sounds as speakers usually are not very good on laptops so that was not a concern for me. I Love this computer until a month ago when it broke down it completely stopped working and I am had nothing but problems with Asus since. This computer was sent in for repair a month ago and just returns with the same failure to operate error key issue was not an always soft upon initial mailing and now I have to send in again. This was not too much of an issue as I understand lemons sometimes happened the biggest issue was the lack of customer service that I've received from this company. Moral of the story is the computer works great but don't expect any assistance from this company when something breaks. I am now stocked with a nine month old completely dead laptop.

5 out of 5 eggsWhat a pleasure,

Pros: The shipping was quick, the computer came in perfect condition, well packaged, and with all the cables it needed. Also, there was no unnecessary programs installed! Just Windows 7 and the basics! Thanks for that!

Cons: Nothing negative to say, I'm 100% happy. People review the screen being weak and it overheating at times, but for what I need the screen and the bamboo laminate will stand up fine, and as for overheating, I haven't experienced any troubles yet.

Other Thoughts: Thanks, Newegg has become one of my reliable sources!

1 out of 5 eggsLaptop

Pros: None

Cons: Sent me a laptop with glue. Like when you pull a sticker off something. Doesn't even turn on. This company is garbage. Won't return or exchange it. Told me to call ASUS.

Other Thoughts: I will never by from Newegg again. Even their sles rep said they are garbage since they expanded beyound lap tops.

4 out of 5 eggsSister likes it

Pros: It's a very stylish laptop with some good specs to it.
Also light and tiny from what I'm used to seeing.
Has a USB 3.0 port!

Cons: It is fragile, and not my sister proof... then again nothing seems to be.
Maybe I just needed to get that right touch but the touch pad feels a little unresponsive.

Other Thoughts: My sisters been looking for a very portable laptop, something lightweight and smaller. But she was also on a budget. She also wanted something stylish that stands out. - Which this does very well I may add.

Now shes home we have 1 problem. The hinge of the laptop screen is held down by some plastic on the bottom half of the shell, Turns out she dropped the thing (I'm guessing...) and that plastic on one side has cracked. I kind of wish Asus went a with a little bit more weight to make that aluminum, and more easily replaceable.

5 out of 5 eggsYou can't go wrong.

Pros: This is quite a laptop. The processor is more than quick enough for this thing, and it CAN ACTUALLY run some games (helped me through many boring points in high school because of that fact...Team Fortress 2, anyone?). I can probably partially attribute that to a very nice 6GB RAM this thing came with, which was more than enough.

And then everyday tasks, like word processing, web browsing, and more are handled with smooth operation. I can have many tabs open in Firefox, have Windows Live Messenger running with several tabs, Steam, and my music all running/playing, and have room for more, no slowdown.

There are also convenient controls, like the power plan button (can cycle through various power plans, from putting this thing on full to using only a fraction of the power), the screen brightness, audio volume, the WLAN switch, and more!

All in all, it does what I needed it to do, and then some. Far more than I ever expected this thing to do!

Cons: Now, time for a few cons. The touchpad can be fiddly from my experience, and the screen a bit flimsy in construction.

It can heat up a bit. Nothing that really concerns me heavily, but it can be uncomfortable.
The speakers are also of an awkward design...I mean, really, aiming AT the surface underneath? Works on hard surfaces but like, in your lap (hello, it's a laptop!), doesn't work too hot. Overall, nothing to dock an egg over.

Other Thoughts: Of course, I knew it wasn't a gaming laptop going into buying this. This was just going to be a general purpose computer for school, and it performed that role admirably. It will run some couple year old or older games OKAY (I knew I reached this thing's limits attempting to run Skyrim...because it couldn't.).

Overall, it did what it could admirably, and reliably despite not going through the best of conditions, and it's still going strong.

5 out of 5 eggsI took a risk on this...

Pros: ...It definitely payed off.

I was very skeptical to go ahead and purchase this laptop after reading some of the recent reviews -some saying that the machine arrived damaged and would not power on after only a few hours. When I received my laptop, it's condition was completely flawless. It still had all the stickers and plastic wrap and honestly, could've been passed off as new.

For the pros, I'll keep it simple. This laptop is a ridiculous bargain for what your getting- Intel Core i5, 6GB RAM, 640GB HDD. A computer like this at a retail store will set you back between $600-$800. I sell computers at Best Buy so I know the price range this model would fall under.

I paid $489.99. Contrary to the previous user, my unit shipped with 6gb DDR3 RAM as advertised.

Cons: It's been cited numerous times, but the right and left click buttons aren't the greatest. Will take some getting used to.

Other Thoughts: As I previously stated, this is an amazing deal if your willing to take a risk. As for the computer, time will tell whether or not it holds up. Although, as a long time ASUS customer I do it confidence that it will.

5 out of 5 eggsBeautiful Versatile Notebook

Pros: The balance between a portable light weight notebook with the vanguard stylish bamboo panels, that remind the nowadays green world concern, is met in this product.
It's battery length is great over 6 hrs in battery saving mode, and more than 7 in "Green Mode".
6GB of RAM plus a core i5 2.67ghz processor provide smooth performance that also runs silent.
Other additional detalis I personally like are: the chiclet style keyboard makes typing easy and comfortable, the white indicator LEDs give an additional elegance, the webcam can be blocked with a sliding button, the graphical interface for controlling the different settings (contrast, volume, etc) is pretty.
This is a great product for the price, remember is a recertified product, but you may get it as I did, no scratches, no signs of use at all, just great

Cons: Not everything is perfect and there are some cons I will mention, to help consumers to properly choose their notebook.
The sound in this notebook is not good, low volume and the speakers are still located on the bottom section which at the best of my knowledge is a bad idea, cause the surface blocks it.
The CD rom section is a little flimsy and it can break if not handled with care. Maintance and properly cleaning this particular device takes additional effort. Let's remeber this is real wood, not plastic or aluminum, so grease, intense sunlight and heat can alterate the finishing. ASUS support doesn't have a clue or doesn't care about properly advicing their customers on how to preserve this material, so I've done some research and use my own methods.
The lack of graphics card makes this PC not suitable for hardcore gaming, it can easily run averge reqs games such as Age of Empires III or Vampire Bloodlines. No problems running Adoce PS, Windows cause it uses 1GB dedicated tograph

Other Thoughts: This is a notebook developed in a particular time with a very innovaing idea, to celebrate the change in conception humanity is experiencing for preserving the planet and supporting "green energy". The balance in between one of the materials has been used since ancient times and the technology of a personal computer, create a very original product
