1 out of 5 eggsTo slow

Pros: none

Cons: the computer is two slow for anything and runs at up to 60 degrees Celsius and only a 1.4 GHz processor which is very annoying as when there is more then 1 program open it slows down

Other Thoughts: Very bad

4 out of 5 eggsamazing for the price

Pros: I bought this to replace a aged gateway nv78 (intel gma 4500hd woo!) for the price, this thing is unbeatable. games that are 1 year older, such as supreme commander 2, dirt 2, sins of a solar empire, orcs must die run amazingly well. the cpu can easily be overclocked with k10stat. mines at 2.4 ghz while undervolted. 6 hr battery, nuff said.

Cons: the heat. the system fan wont speed up to medium until the internals hit about 60c. then, like clockwork, the fan spins up (it is very quiet though.) also, crossfire is a joke. i tried it in multiple dx11 games, with the latest catalyst and crossfire drivers. the result: the frame rate was about half of using the dedicated card alone. no larger 9 cell batteries are avaliable :(

Other Thoughts: ive since modded this things cooling system, by directly wiring the fan to a usb port. the result: temps rarely go over 40c now, even while playing very demanding games like battlefield 3 or crysis. also, i stuck a a4-3400m in (since most games i play only use 1 or 2 cores) and power usage dropped about 10 watts. also, only the dedicated card is seen or used, very nice for $10 upgrade.

4 out of 5 eggsVery pleased buyer

Pros: Overall a value that you're not going to beat anywhere else by spending $400 on a laptop. I've experienced no screen imperfections since I've owned this (about three months) although it did ship with a newer bios, leading me to believe that problem is long gone.
I'm using K10Stat to overclock the CPU between 1.7-2.3 while undervolting, and it reaches a max of about 72 degrees during hour long LoL games. I'ved played a little BF3, Mass Effect 3, LoL, and some other newer games that it all runs fine, some on decreased settings but native resolution.

Cons: The trackpad is horrible, and this machine comes with so much bloatware that it makes starting up the first time take about 10 minutes before the computer is usable.
Most users (such as myself) should immediately wipe and reinstall windows, but MAKE SURE YOU DOWNLOAD the trackpad drivers from Asus. It will help tremendously!
The laptop does also get hot and slightly loud (I consider myself fairly noise-sensitive) so do not plan on overclocking above 2.4 if you plan to keep this for the long term.
The keyboard is also a little springy, and feels cheap at certain times. You can even hear hollow-type noises because of how it is set up if you're typing too fast or pressing down on keys in rapid succession.

Other Thoughts: I'm running mine with crossfire disabled and only the discrete GPU running. I hadn't experienced any stuttering with it enabled, but it helps temps (and respectively noise) to have it disabled so that your APU isn't doing double the work. I haven't figured out how to overclock the GPU, I've tried Afterburner and disabling ULPV and changing registry entries, adding .dll's to the catalyst folder, but nothing allows me to change the core or memory clocks. Not a big deal as this APU and card will handle just about anything at this resolution anyways.

Display: 7/10 (I've owned one IPS monitor)
Audio: 4/10 (I run this with external speakers most of the time)
Keyboard: 5/10 (full keyboard, although cramped layout)
Temps: 6/10 (overall it could be much worse for the performance)
Performance: 8/10 (as long as you're not in power saving mode)

Overall: 7.5/10

I would (and have) recommended this laptop to budget minded colleagues, and it has served its purpose for me of light gaming.

1 out of 5 eggsvery dissapointed

Pros: Did not receive what product states.

Cons: I received this product awhile ago but today while updating drivers I found something that was really disappointing. The gpu that was stated online was that it comes with a 1gb Radeon 6650M. But what I found today is that inside is only a 512mb Radeon HD6520G. I am very unhappy about this as I did not receive what I was actually buying. Also the laptop has a sticker on it that says a Radeon HD6720G is inside. Which is also not true. I am very unhappy about my purchase now and feel ripped off.

5 out of 5 eggsGood low end "gaming" laptop

Pros: Asus brand. Like new can't even tell it is a refurbished laptop! Can do crossfire with the 2 GPUs it has and is a quad core.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Perfect laptop for those seeking a light gaming laptop. Runs World of warcraft in decent setting. Can do high BUT hiccups and you can't expect to raid with it in those setting.

5 out of 5 eggsN/A

Pros: - Bang for the buck
- Will not be undersold for less
- Best in its price category
- Easy to overclock GPU/CPU
- One free DDR3 slot (can be easily upgraded to 8GB DDR3-1333MHZ)
- Very efficient and fast for a laptop of this category

Cons: - Cheap keyboard
- Cheap trackpad
- Screen is somewhat between medium-to-high definition (MD/HD?)
- No bluetooth (but come on, at this price, do not look forward for bluetooth)
- Bloatware, but easy to remove if you know how to do so
- ASUS Live Utility is not very useful (it is better to do your own research and do your own updates/upgrades in driver and chipset)
- Wireless is funky (signal sometimes not too high even when next to the router/network central)

Other Thoughts: For its price, and free shipping, you will not find another item that can compare.

Did I mention that it is ALWAYS out-of-stock?

Click auto-notify if you want this, you will not regret it.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Laptop

Pros: If you reinstall Windows 7 the laptop at stock can play any game on the market (bf3, skyrium, crysis 2, ect..) If you overclock using k10stat the cpu can get to 2.3 ghz per core and is still cool. making games even smoother when playing.

Cons: The windows 7 that i comes install with has tons of programs making the laptop incredibly slow it also comes with the wrong drivers for the wireless device simply had to install the right ones.

Other Thoughts: Paid about $400 for it and you cant get a better laptop for that price atm

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for the price

Pros: -THE PRICE. You will not find anything like this for the price. Just keep in mind that this isn't the top top of the line computer you can get. But this computer is definitely worth about 700 to 800.
-I kinda like the finish on the actual cover. Feels nice.
-Easy to overclock, but I haven't found a need for it yet.
-Runs pretty much anything you throw at it at about medium settings.

Cons: -Horrible touchpad(good thing I use a mouse.)
- the keyboard is great except for the right shift key. They cut the size of it in half to make room for the up arrow. Guess ill have to learn to use the left one.
-Definitely generates heat while under load. got up to 80C while playing SC2 (30 fps on medium btw) but I hooked up my coolermaster cooling pad and brought it right down to 65C.
-Screen is definitely no bueno. Doesn't look nearly as ad while gaming or watch HD video but for everyday surfing the web. Not so good.
-Definitely not a fan of the switchable graphics. I wish it would just be set high all the time. Even though that is an option, it doesn't appear to work.
-TONS of bloatware. Just reinstall windows or whatever OS you use.

Other Thoughts: -Bought refurbished. Seemed almost new. The recovery partition was even there. However, I did have to wipe the HD completely to install the custom OS I wanted. That's a long and complicated story so ill spare you the details.
-There was a "Stuck pixel" but it was a easy fix. Just google it if it happens to you.
