Pros: Sleek and light

Cons: The speakers are the worst speakers of any laptop ever. But that isn't even that bad compared to the problems I've had with it. I have had to send it back three times, and now have to send it back a fourth for repairs. I've only had it about a year but it keeps doing this thing where it just dies and won't turn on. I've never had problems with viruses, I take good care of it, but idk... it just doesn't want to survive I don't think. Basically, it's kinda a piece of cra p so you shouldn't buy it

Pros: - It worked well the first month I bought it, but began to degrade after that
- Looks nice, 10-key

Cons: - It blue-screens every once in a while
- Runs extremely slow randomly and 70% of the time it crashes, often have to hard-reset.
- Heats up quick when playing games, so buy a notebook cooler

Other Thoughts: I probably got the 1/10000 one with a problem. I'll be sending this back to ASUS when I get the chance. Blue screens and random slow downs leads me to believe it's a HDD problem.

I would NOT recommend this product to anyone due to my issues.

Pros: Pretty fast
I was worried at the beginning because games like runescape would lag on medium graphics. I think its prob the game being laggy or my internet connection. I can play other games on high / mediumlike diablo 3 guild wars 2 and minecraft. 1 year warranty

Cons: Have to play runescape on minimum. The sound was cracking so i just went to sound card and reduced it and its fine. I also lost or didnt receive the microsft office code and i have to use word starter for school. The caps lock sometimes stick.

Other Thoughts: Over all pretty good product.

Pros: This is in addition to my review directly below.

Cons: I hope this is just a windows 7 prob., but this laptop keeps turning on by itself at random times. I will be watching tv and accross the room it just turns on. I have checked device manager hardware wakeup settings but havn't figured it out yet. A related problem is half the time when I tell it "SHUT DOWN" I come back and it only put it in sleep mode. I guess microsoft is taking after bad apple product traits now wasting battery life. If anyone solves it please post in a review thanks.

Pros: It does stay pretty cool compared to my other laptop but "ice cool" I think not lol.
It's pretty fast. Was worried about the gpu breaking from other reviews, but so far I am able to play starcraft 2 on max settings no problem. The only other game I have installed so far is gta san andreas which has no problems but the graphics seem weak and lack settings for some reason. I do not like the way the graphic card does settings because I don't trust if the games are getting through to the gpu or not since it has all these autoselect and application controled settings.

be prepared to spend a long time burning recovery cds since the laptop didn't come with anything. I hate that ASUS if you are listening. I opted not to reinstall everything fresh as I usually do. I just removed a few bloatware. Hopefully when I reinstall later it won't be a problem or I'm going to go after them for some recovery cds!
with the widescreen you loose vertical reading area a little bit.
I don't know what's up with newegg advertising free win 8 upgrade then charging 15$
Would have liked an rca video option, I have to go buy an hdmi or vga converter.
also a thought for if you rotate the screen should have a feature to rotate the mouse pad control.

Other Thoughts: not sure I like the mouse. The wheel scroll sometime chooses not to scroll. The mouse has extra features but at the cost of not working as well. The keyboard buttons are not as nice as my other asus laptop either. They are cheaper and I have to press harder. The mouse clicks are not as noisy as the other reviewers say.
The wifi works great once it works. windows 7 seems to be picky about connecting and reading networks. Every computer I had worked right away but this one.

Pros: - Great performance level - I play WoW with ease on high settings and have played Skyrim and Dark Souls as well with satisfying performance.
- Very quick laptop! It loads up pages at a blazing speed and I don't have to wait for pages to load.
-The battery life is pretty good as well, even on "performance" power plan
- I really like the mouse and some of the touch pad controls you can do.
- Keyboard is smooth and I love typing on it.
- I like the aluminum palm rest, it keeps the hands cool.
- The overall build of the laptop is very nice and sleek.
- It's a pretty light laptop and you can move it around with ease.

Cons: -The speakers right above the keyboard are somewhat soft and the sound quality could be better...

-The mouse click is a little bit loud, though it really isn't a major problem

-The location of the charger port isn't located in the best position, which is right next to the cooling fan vent, which brings me to my final point...

-The cooling fan vent is on the left side of the keyboard and some of the keys on that side get way hot.

Other Thoughts: I received the laptop quickly with the standard shipping and have loved it ever since. There's a few minor problems with this laptop, but ultimately this was a very good value when I bought it at $730. I recently saw this product on sale all the way down to $650. This laptop is WELL worth that price tag.

Pros: Value, good features for the money. Keyboard has a good feel to it. Love having a 10-key keypad on a laptop. Touch-pad has good functionality / variety of functions. Decent, bright display. Graphics card can easily handle HD video. Multiple FAST USB 3.0 ports. Can easily be connected to a television via HDMI port. Aluminum palm-rest helps keep hands cool.

Cons: Not many. I wish the keyboard was back-lit. Would be nice if the "0" key on the 10-key keypad was a bit wider. Umm... The touch-pad clicks are kind of loud.

Other Thoughts: Overall a very good experience. I haven't had to deal with customer service at either newegg or ASUS so I can't speak to the quality of either. That's a good thing I guess, since the computer was nicely packaged and worked like a dream right out of the box. Overall a very good computer for the money. Would definitely recommend.

Pros: Wonderful performance. Runs everything I want it to, including graphic intensive games on moderate settings.

Cons: The wireless receiver is really weak.
Must be VERY close to the router in order to get a signal good enough to stream anything or even connect.

Other Thoughts: This computer would be perfect if I could get a solid wireless connection where everyone else seems to be able to.
This is extremely unfortunate since most of what I do is over the internet.

Pros: whatever issues it has was pretty much cleared up once my laptop arrived. laptop is great for its price and its contents cant complain much about its cons. great buy

Other Thoughts: Why anyone would go to Asus for the latest gpu drivers when you have a dedicated Nvidia card is beyond me.

The current stable driver package from Nvidia (as of this writing) is v301.42. This driver/installer for whatever reason will not work with this card. The current beta drivers from Nvidia are v304.48 and v304.79. Both betas installed perfectly.
