5 out of 5 eggsSweet!

Pros: It, for the money, is a great little machine!! It holds up decently to modern games and does well on the business side as well. Just don't expect it to play Crysis.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsSurpasses expectations

Pros: Bought it when it was $360 which is a steal at that price go Newegg. Intended to use it for light gaming. Dropped in 8gb of G.Skill and a Crucial M4 128gb SSD and I am blown away by the capability it has. Able to play LoL Dragon age Supreme commander and GW 2 with 40+ FPS on all except GW2

Cons: The built in speaker are very quiet but not much of a con for me since i use headphones while i game but for others i would see it being a con.

Other Thoughts: Sucks it was discontinued great ASUS product. Awesome job on Newegg as always got it one day earlier and amazing sales,

5 out of 5 eggsPretty good computer

Pros: Great Graphics Performance, responsive, well-built for a cheaper machine, decent battery life, runs cool, UEFI and USB 3.0 Support!

Cons: Machine's stock image was initially slow on the installed 5400RPM disk from Western Digital. Some running of xbootmgr and cleaning off of some unneeded pre-installed software worked around this.

Sometimes gets into a state where it will fail to complete a reboot if it's on for extended periods. Unsure if this is a BIOS version issue or if this is just something needing a BIOS reset. It never fails to sleep/hibernate/power off however, and never fails to start!

Other Thoughts: The computer was purchased while it was on sale for $360. The machine works great for on the go gaming thanks to the AMD APU and also works great for HD video viewing (it will handle Blu-Ray!). Games such as TF2 can hold 50FPS with Anti-aliasing but due to the CPU, it can drop as Particles begin to slow the game down.

When the machine was initially purchased and opened, it set itself up quickly however disk performance was pretty slow. Some tweaking now gets this machine booting in under 15 seconds from POST to Desktop.

For the price I got this machine for, it's a great buy. The CPU doesn't have the oomph as it's Intel counterpart, but AMD did a good job with the Llano parts, all things considered. Very pleased.

Also, go ASUS for building the machine well. It has a nice feel to it but also feels solidly built. Also, it runs cool unlike many newer laptops. Very happy and feel this will last for ages like other ASUS products.

Finally, great job NewEgg getting this here in two

3 out of 5 eggsweak case

Pros: Fast after removing bloatware and adding another 4 gig ramstick.Screen resolution and brightness are very good.

Cons: Case ,especially the lid is very flimsy. My daughters cat(approx 8lbs) jumped on the lid and trashed the screen, the pc was closed and off,but the screen has a virtual crack and ~70% is greyed out and unusable.I had just registered the unit for Asus's Accidental Damage Plan-hope it works as advertised!!We will see how long it takes to get it back,it took 2 days to throughto customer (un)support

Other Thoughts: This laptop is very good for the pricepoint, just make sure to get a well padded or hard sided case.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Sorry to hear that your cat jumped on the laptop. As long as you registered for the accidental damage and an email was confirmed you should not have a problem. Have you tried contacting newegg to see if they will be able to replace the unit for you.

If you have any questions or comments you can email me at cl-jeffrey@asus.com

ASUS strives to meet and exceeds our customer expectations within our warranty policy.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat laptop

Pros: For the price you'll never find something better. I upgraded RAM with G.SKILL 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Laptop Memory Model F3-10666CL9D-8GBSQ from Newegg (35$) and everything is perfect. Run Starcraft 2 pretty well with medium settings.

Cons: Speakers are just OK, not too good but not too bad

Other Thoughts: It's not a big gaming machine but for occasionnal gamers like me it's perfect

4 out of 5 eggsAmazing Laptop. Best for the price.

Pros: For starters. Powerful for a laptop. Can do some nice gaming on it, can't exactly be used for BF3 on ultra, but you get the point. Has all the features id need. SDHC, HDMI, whatnot. Awesome laptop for being what it is.

Cons: There are only a few here. One is that the camera quality is a little bit low. Its not what id' expect from ASUS, secondly the harddrive is 5400RPM, thats sub-standard for HDD, It should be 7200RPM. Lastly the touchpad is a little hard to use, but thats just my fingers or something.

Other Thoughts: Overall an AMAZING laptop for the price. Has tons of features, nice price, really powerful, fast, snappy, and ASUS.

Cons: Not ment for gaming. But would you really expect a $350 laptop to be?

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME!!!!

Pros: lighter than a mac book pro
better than a mac book (im not a fan hahah)
easy to use
lots of hot keys
cheap computer but not cheap quality
easy upgrades

Cons: weird hdd partition? i guess i can just live with it or maybe ill tinker with it before I really start loading all my data on it.

Other Thoughts: Sad to see that this computer got discontinued from new egg but i think i have seen another version of this laptop with the only exception that it has 4 gigs of ram not 3. This didnt matter to me because like most people on here, I upgraded to 8 for only like 40 bucks. Making the total less than 400!

5 out of 5 eggsDiscontinued, why?

Pros: This is an exceptional Notebook. I was just getting ready to buy it only to find out it is now Discontinued. Great price for the specs and perfect for my needs.

I wanted to own it.

Cons: Discontinued. When I saw this I thought I was in the "Twilight Zone". NewEgg please bring this highly rated notebook back.

Other Thoughts: It is available other places but not the great deal NewEgg was offering it at. I am seriously bummed out.

I just had to get this off my chest.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Computer, Not 5 Eggs

Pros: Price, powerful processor, ASUS brand, good design, will likely last, USB 3.0, easy ram upgrade, charging port is sturdy, great screen, love the touch pad features zoom and rotate

Cons: Keyboard layout is odd, no quick keys, relies on one the tiny "fn" key for all the function keys of the top row, too far to one hand at times, touch pad is oversensitive, but that can be adjusted, DVDdrive doesn't "spring" out must be pulled out, case feels a little cheap, touch pad buttons click very loud, speakers are weak, can be adjusted with "sonic focus," some odd ASUS software, camera is cheap.

Other Thoughts: Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with my purchase, and would buy another if I needed one, this laptop has its flaws, but they are all liveable.
