Pros: Fantastic Laptop!
Number pad on a 15" laptop - definite bonus.

2nd Gen I3 - More power conservative than the 300 series. Also includes the HD3000 chip for better graphics handling right on the processor.

USB 3.0 - Nothing really uses it but its ready for the future!

It came pre-formatted with the Asus Image - If something goes wrong after here either a tech put the wrong image on it or one has done something totally wrong. It just asks for your computer name, time zone, and password to finish the install!

Includes instructions on how to create a backup dvd(s) for the novice users.

I got this on an EBLAST special for a fantastic price!

Cons: These are not cons to knock eggs off.. These are cons if one is looking for a 'budget' laptop that needs that one special thing.

2 Usb Ports - You can get a USB Hub to add additional ports
4 Cell Battery - It wont last as long as a 6 or 8 cell -

Other Thoughts: Somewhere along the way one complained about resolution. There is nothing wrong w/ the resolution and its pretty standard for 15 inch laptops

Although some say its bloatware ridden. It has the 'Asus' specific applications, one of which is handy... The backup utility! USE IT!

It does not include Norton Antivirus on it - thankfully that is almost impossible to clean.

It does have a scroll on the touch pad you just have to use the right side of it as you were scrolling.

Has all the standards of laptops VGA out, HDMI out, speakers, headphone, memory card reader etc.

I will eventually put a SSD in the laptop for additional speed and power conservation.

Pros: Runs Linux Mint like a dream. Everything works out of the box.
Decent battery life
Keyboard isn't spectacular but surprisingly easy to type on
Webcam works great with Skype on Linux
Light weight
Runs cool

Cons: Low resolution for the size of the screen
USB ports are awkardly placed
Power cable should plug into the back
No reinstallation media

Other Thoughts: Factory RAM seems to be soldered on to the board with only one user accessible slot.
Hard to disassemble, some screws (like the one under the dvd drive tray) are just plain unaccessible.
I never played with Windows on it and got rid of it as soon as I got the laptop.

Pros: Excellent computer,
Very good computer for the price.
Works great, no problems at startup, no problems noted so far.
Good quality.

Cons: Just quick resolve problem with WIN7 start up within 10 min (software problem not hardware), keyboard color not good, manufacturer need to change black color to white !

Other Thoughts: some software doesent work out of the box. most of it is crapware but still. i had to re-instaul a software application and driver that allows me to use function keys(volume) and power options. good thing im good with computers and fixed it myself, most people wouldnt be able to and shouldnt have to either within their 1st week. the quality control should be testing these better! i will, because of this, honestly question purchasing an asus product in the future or even purchasing from newegg.com ever again. my computer even came with a used sd card! with pictures from the previous owners. it makes me wonder if they just box up the returned products and sell them without making sure they work first.

Pros: inexpencive, runs cold, usb 3.0, clear screen, keyboard, solid!!!, facial recognition, value for the money

Cons: battery life, weight, power adapter placement, no scroller on touchpad, 2 usb kacks, fasy!!!

Other Thoughts: its a good buy, a solid computer for the price.

Pros: It's light.

Cons: Absolute untested junk. ASUS quality has been in the toilet since 2004/05. I see nothing has changed.

Other Thoughts: I'd charged fully. Turned on, booted to "Starting windows for the first time" screen. Stayed there for three hours.
On restart, gets BSOD and tells me to insert my Windows 7 Installation disk and choose "repair". It didnt come with a disk. If Newegg wants me to pay to ship this back for a refund, I'll be fuming.
